Beauty advent calendars....

Piccolino2 · 17/08/2018 09:30

For those interested there's already some info coming out on this years beauty advent calendars... plenty of time for us all to debate and neurose about it all:

www.reallyree.com/?s=Advent%202018

I've been putting £5 away a week since last Christmas for this so I can purchase guilt free and as I organise the whole of Christmas for everyone then I think I should get a treat to look forward to. Personally I think I like the look of Harrods this time.

What do you all think?

@bumblebee39 for me the latest in beauty one was best this year, it's £79. Or look fantastic is pretty good at that price point

MysweetAudrina · 03/11/2018 22:13

I just spent over an hour picking out clothes for my nieces in Oz for xmas to get the calendar. I ordered it all and then got an email to say one of items was no longer available - the calendar. I am in Dublin and when I was in the local store the other night the place was heaving with them. Surely they can't be all sold out already.

VenusOfWillendorf · 03/11/2018 22:17

My liberty advent calandar arrived today and it is beautiful! But .. there is no box 15 and two of box 21!!! Any one else have similar issue?

buckeejit · 04/11/2018 22:28

Oh @VenusOfWillendorf that's rubbish - have you actually got two no 18 boxes? send them a pic & they should sort it

Caggie09 · 05/11/2018 12:13

The M&S one is showing as sold out online. Has anyone been to a branch in the last couple of days? Are they still piled high? My MiL is buying it and I don't want her to have a wasted trip if they are low on stock in stores too. Weird given how many they had last year.

MinesaPinot · 06/11/2018 13:09

Isitmybathtimeyet I was in Bromley M & S yesterday and they had loads on the shop floors. My DH bought me one as he was buying a new suit {smile}

Isitmybathtimeyet · 06/11/2018 15:19

Nice DH! Mine is meant to be a late birthday present from my DH but of course it's me that's having to negotiate purchase with MiL (we live outside the delivery area) and deal with a zillion questions about the pyjamas she's getting the kids to spend the £35 etc.

MyEyesAreNotDeceivingMe · 06/11/2018 15:23

There were loads of calendars in M & S on Sunday. They were in piles all round the store, top of escalators, in the men's department and they had a stash behind the payment counter.

That was Brooklands/Weybridge store.

Isitmybathtimeyet · 06/11/2018 15:31

My in-laws would probably go to the Metro Centre in Gateshead, on the off chance that anyone reading this has been there!

Isitmybathtimeyet · 06/11/2018 15:31

I am going to end up buying it myself on a trip to the UK, plus the extra stuff, then organising the postage back, and then getting given £35 from DH. Happy birthday to me. Hmm

MyEyesAreNotDeceivingMe · 06/11/2018 16:06

If anyone is going to buy the John Lewis advent calendar, they are doing a 20% discount promotion during their JL card shopping evening. Usually £165.00.

The Kingston one is on tomorrow (7th) evening 6.30 to 8.30. They say it’s invitation only but I went to it last year and enetered the store via the car park without showing my JL card. I think going in via the main entrance people had to show their JL card.

MrsCar · 14/11/2018 20:12

Bump Grin

Anyone excited about Black Friday? I think any that are still left over will be discounted.

Caggie09 · 14/11/2018 20:37

I really want another one, im waiting for them to come down before i buy one though. Just waiting it out🙈😂

MrsCar · 14/11/2018 20:42

Do you have your eye on any in particular?

Kaz2200 · 15/11/2018 08:55

Not sure if this has been answered so apologies if it has. I'm looking for recommendations, had last years Amazon but the reviews are not good for this year, the Loook Beauty would have been nice but out of stock. Its for my 18 and 21 dds would like mixed brands up to a maximum of £75. Not sure on the M & S one as don't really want to spend the extra £60 to qualify.

Fishandthechips · 15/11/2018 09:05

Look fantastic is really nice and its £79 @Kaz2200 but ive seen it for cheaper. There has been on and off 20% reductions on it for the last few days making it in the £65 region. Good mix of make up and skin care.

Kaz2200 · 15/11/2018 09:25

Thanks fishandthechips ordered with 15% discount and hopefully another 5% on quidco.

MrsCar · 19/11/2018 10:07

MrsCar · 19/11/2018 10:08

£5 off if you're a beauty box subscriber.

I'm doing my best not to buy it, I really don't need it and can't think of anyone to gift it to Blush

Avegemitesandwich · 19/11/2018 10:12

I really hope this 'beauty advent calendar' trend ends soon. The planet is literally drowning in tat and these are just the absolute epitome of the whole thing. Its just buying for the sake of buying.

And I say that as someone who loves beauty products.

Caggie09 · 19/11/2018 15:01

I quite fancy the Glossybox one, not sure if it will reduce in price though? I dont sub to the box either to get it for £75, cant justify another £100 on another adventHmm Im hoping maybe with black friday coming up they do an offer to either sub for cheaper and get the advent or knock the advent down!
