Beauty advent calendars....

Piccolino2 · 17/08/2018 09:30

For those interested there's already some info coming out on this years beauty advent calendars... plenty of time for us all to debate and neurose about it all:

www.reallyree.com/?s=Advent%202018

I've been putting £5 away a week since last Christmas for this so I can purchase guilt free and as I organise the whole of Christmas for everyone then I think I should get a treat to look forward to. Personally I think I like the look of Harrods this time.

What do you all think?

What about L'Occitane ?

maddjess · 06/10/2018 23:17

Oh pizza eater have you checked the reviews for £50 I would be returning it

JessicaJonesJacket · 06/10/2018 23:22

Is the Benefit calendar out yet? I bought some for friends last year and was going to get them again.

LilaGrace · 11/10/2018 19:41

For anyone who is interested, the Diptyque advent calendar can now be pre ordered from the Selfridges website. It says it's not available until Monday15th October, but you can pre-order it now and it will be shipped/ready to collect from Monday. I've just ordered mine! 😁

maddjess · 23/10/2018 21:06

Liberty on sale in the morning :) who's going for it???

Isitmybathtimeyet · 23/10/2018 21:10

Tempted... I had LF last year and lots of people on here reckoned that was better but I get the boxes now and there's a lot of duplication with those so wanted to try something different. Need to decide today - this is my birthday present! How does John Lewis compare to Liberty, anyone?

emma6776 · 23/10/2018 21:28

The M&S one is £280!! Does it normally have an offer on nearer Xmas?

Twotabbycats · 23/10/2018 21:39

I am poised for the liberty one, loved it last year!

emma I can't remember the exact details but last year the M&S one was £35ish If you spent £60ish in store on certain stuff like beauty and clothing.

Isitmybathtimeyet · 23/10/2018 22:05

It's £35 for the M&S calendar plus £34 spend. No one is paying £260! Also I seem to remember people realising that you could just return your £35 spend and keep the calendar.

wintertimesadness · 23/10/2018 22:46

@maddjess I am because the inside matches our bedding and our wedding stationeryHalloween Blush so I will refill it each year for dc. Also getting the jo malone one as need a treat after a tough year. Will share it with DH!

intelligentPutty · 23/10/2018 23:24

So so tempted by the liberty one. Could order tomorrow morning... I don't think I will. Will go for something cheaper this year. The rise to near 200 just feels too much.

Twotabbycats · 23/10/2018 23:55

Liberty was on the site early - have just ordered. If anyone's still up - get over there now!

OneInAMillionYou · 24/10/2018 00:28

Liberty has gone live, just got mine and one for my best friend.

maddjess · 24/10/2018 01:55

Got it :) I was gonna treat myself to jo loves too but it's gone for got liberty and Yankee candle 🤣

HundredMilesAnHour · 24/10/2018 10:07

I ordered the Liberty one online. Quite excited! It's my first ever advent calendar since I was a kid (and I'm now in my 40s). It's been a rough year - and about to get rougher I think - so hoping the Liberty calendar will cheer me up through the dark days of December.

chloechloe · 24/10/2018 10:36

I’ve splurged on this again. Baby 3 is due at the end of November so I figured I should treat myself!

The EU delivery charge has gone down from £15 to £10 which was a nice surprise - I know lots of people were moaning about it last year.

Annoyingly Liberty is advertising a 10% discount on your first order if you sign up to their mailing list. I did it a few days ago intending to use it for the calendar but now they’ve cheekily excluded it being used for the calendar!

littlepooch · 24/10/2018 10:48

I really want the liberty one. But close to £200 and then postage on top seems very steep. But it's got such beautiful things in it!
I've had such a hard year and just given birth to Dc3 that I would love a treat. But it seems a bit indulgent.

I also wanted the elemis one but dithered and it's sold out now :(

Wondering whether to go for a cheaper one but I don't know what! I don't really want much make up - something with loads of skincare would be good!

Henrysmycat · 24/10/2018 11:22

I’m passing on the liberty. It’s a repeat product for product from the last 3 years. There’s so much fig candles I can take abd I grew up between fig trees. I know it’s their best selling items but it’s a no from me.

chloechloe · 24/10/2018 13:43

littlepooch what about Decleor? My mum got it for me last year and I’m hoping she’ll do so again! It’s all skincare - mainly face and some body care. It’s lovely and indulgent and great for some daily pampering after DC3!

Piccolino2 · 24/10/2018 14:19

Argh, I'm so back and forth on this. Was all set to get Liberty after watching the unboxing of Harrods on YouTube and thinking there were too many travel sizes, but there's quite a few things in Liberty I just don't want (Bobbi Brown clear lipgloss, aromatherapy associates rollerball, the lipstick -not my colour, the Dermatologica cleansing gel, pixiglow tonic, Eve Lom kissmix), seeing that list of 6 things has cemented it. Now thinking of the Space NK one as lots of things I haven't tried in there and lots of skincare which I like but the packaging looks a bit rubbish for such a high end calendar and again lots of little sizes. Will pop into Space NK tomorrow hopefully and have a look. In the meantime I keep checking if Liberty has sold out, and when it does I'll be sad, weirdo I know!

I loved Liberty last year and said id get it again. But its just the same brands and different product or scent. I dont even want it, but i keep looking at itBlush Even though i have the Elle and John Lewis one, then waiting for Jo Loves, i feel like i need another one. I dont know what it is about opening little doors, but it excites me! If some of these products were bundled in a little box i wouldnt care, but the behind little doors, ill have them!😂

maddjess · 24/10/2018 15:32

Waiting on jo loves? I assumed it had sold out?

LilaGrace · 24/10/2018 15:34

I've got the Diptyque one and the White Company one and am so excited about both. I love the white company brand and it has loads of mini versions of products I've tried and loved, but not many candles- whereas the Diptyque one is mainly candles. Anyone else have either of these? Haven't opened them yet but the packaging is beautiful ❤️

littlepooch · 24/10/2018 15:40

Chloe Chloe that's a good idea about decleor - I'll have a look!

Caggie09 · 24/10/2018 15:49

I think it had been available to pre-order, but i never recieved an email to do so! It says on the website it will be available again to order in November!
