Face tinkerers - Profhilo is flippin' brill

I have started many threads over the years about the non-surgical fixes I have had: botox, liquid face lift, threads etc... Anyway, about a year and a half ago I did realise that I was looking a bit done - my honest friend told me and she was right - I thought I was subtle but tweakage is cumulative and before you know it ... well, you know.

I am still very interested in all that shizz so I popped to my clinic and asked if there was anything that would not freeze my face, make me look less knackered but still my age (46) . That's when they recommended Profhilo.
It's a course of two treatments a month apart. 5 injections on each side of the face with pure hyarulonic acid which then spreads across your face and encourages your own collagen and elastin to rebuild.V clever.
I had my first round on Tuesday so expected no results whatsoever but woke up on Saturday with the skin of a baby. It already feels dead plump, pores have disappeared and there is some slight lifting. It's not even supposed to be working yet but I feel I look so much better.

Cannot wait to see full results after two treatments.

Another interested in the Bolton nurse!

cathyandclare · 30/07/2018 11:11

And someone interested in the York nurse!

DameDoom · 30/07/2018 13:15

cathyandclare I've sent you a PM with details.

If anyone wants to recommend someone in East Anglia I’m all ears.

staycalmer · 30/07/2018 23:15

I also got done in Bolton and I bloody love profhilo. Clinics was called DermaBella. She was recommended by a friend who had it done. It's filler for those that are scared of filler. So soft but just tightens everything!!

manandbeast · 30/07/2018 23:42

Can anyone recommend somewhere in London?

Truckingonandon · 31/07/2018 16:21

Does it hurt?

macymacy · 31/07/2018 20:17

It's a little stingy, especially the ones round the mouth. I put some Emla cream on for the second lot and it was much better

Menarefrommarsitwouldseem · 31/07/2018 23:03

Oooo interested.

I saw this advertised with my botox lady and didn't pay much attention.
I am going in Monday for botox and was going to ask about cheek fillers for a lift and hopefully to help combat my crepey under eye area
I may mention this instead.

Although I'm wondering if I'm a little going to go this way just yet. Started with botox and now thinking what else can I have as the rest of my face shows the faults once I am botoxed.
Face tinkering is addictive.

DameDoom · 01/08/2018 11:24

Menarefrommarsitwouldseem it will really help with the crepey skin round your eyes. Honestly, after a week and 1 day my hollow eyes are no more, the crepe is vastly and visibly improved already and I now have supple crows feet which look rather nice if I do say so myself.

I found it a bit stingy too. It's very quick though and totally doable - I didn't bother with numbing cream and I am a wuss. No bruising whatsoever.

I went for a drink with my friend last night and she was gobsmacked at my skin. She has booked in to have it done this afternoon as there was a cancellation. Up until now she has poo pooed my tinkering and never had anything done.

Dame Where in York did you go please? Sounds good.

DameDoom · 01/08/2018 12:51

Innersense Aesthetics on Boroughbridge Road Enid. It's a fantastic clinic. They have recently opened another one in Wetherby too.

Lee and Lorraine do all my tinkering - they are v v good.

Extra interested now.

The wrinkles under my eyes and general sunken look drive me crazy.

DameDoom · 01/08/2018 22:37

This is THE treatment for slightly older women who embrace aging but want to look great while doing so. It's more Helen Mirren than Kris Kardashian.

Thanks Dame Cake

SleepFreeZone · 01/08/2018 23:11

Ive been reading about it and the reviews seem to suggest its great. But the effects are gone after a couple of months 🙁

Cambionome · 01/08/2018 23:18

Anyone had their neck done yet?

villageshop · 01/08/2018 23:20

Sounds fantastic but will it help with lip lines, like smoker's lines?

Truckingonandon · 02/08/2018 08:07

Everything I've read said the effects last 6-9 months, not a couple of months.

princesstiasmum · 02/08/2018 09:42

Sounds amazing, but surely lasts more than 2 months
IO wonder how it would work for older faces,, [think 60s]

banivani · 02/08/2018 10:31

I have to say I was very intrigued by this. Found a clinic where I live that does it, but they offer only either 1 treatment (2 ml) or 3 treatments as a package (3x2 ml). Why 1 or 3 I wonder, could there be a reason?

Gonegrey31 · 02/08/2018 12:27

The clinic I go to recommends two sessions, a month apart. It should last 9 - 12 months apparently.
I am early 60s and have had a great result, hope it lasts. Only had face done, had some bruising the second time. Nothing that concealer could not disguise.
Not sure that lip lines would be helped much, this treatment is not a filler, more like a full face refresh.

DameDoom · 02/08/2018 13:06

I was told anything from 6/9/12 months and that it all depends on the quality of the skin originally. We will see. I am going to ask about getting my neck done. Actually, I'd do my entire body if I could afford it.

Oooh I love the sound of this. Was just about to reinvest in another course of radiofrequency tightening but might try this instead for a change.
Chuckling at Does it hurt? Who cares!!
I would never ask this - does that make me a hardcore tinkerer?!
Dame, soolantra changed my life too - I could cry thinking about what if I hadn't found it .

Rollerbird · 02/08/2018 14:35

How much was the Bolton one?
