Face tinkerers - Profhilo is flippin' brill

DameDoom · 29/07/2018 06:38

I have started many threads over the years about the non-surgical fixes I have had: botox, liquid face lift, threads etc... Anyway, about a year and a half ago I did realise that I was looking a bit done - my honest friend told me and she was right - I thought I was subtle but tweakage is cumulative and before you know it ... well, you know.

I am still very interested in all that shizz so I popped to my clinic and asked if there was anything that would not freeze my face, make me look less knackered but still my age (46) . That's when they recommended Profhilo.
It's a course of two treatments a month apart. 5 injections on each side of the face with pure hyarulonic acid which then spreads across your face and encourages your own collagen and elastin to rebuild.V clever.
I had my first round on Tuesday so expected no results whatsoever but woke up on Saturday with the skin of a baby. It already feels dead plump, pores have disappeared and there is some slight lifting. It's not even supposed to be working yet but I feel I look so much better.

Cannot wait to see full results after two treatments.

DameDoom is there anything that works for bags under the eyes? We're not talking dark circles or puffiness here. We're talking bags for life...

KatyPeary · 02/08/2018 15:48

There must be some downside/possible side effects?? Anyone know?
Sounds too good to be true (apart from the cost)

Truckingonandon · 02/08/2018 16:19

I hope no cons cos I'm having it done next week!

paceyswife · 02/08/2018 20:07

I'm desperate for something to reduce under eye wrinkles - the rest of my face is ok (fat and Botox Confused) but under eye lines are dreadful

Menarefrommarsitwouldseem · 02/08/2018 20:10

Still thinking about this and I'm now wondering if I'm too young?

I started on the botox pretty early I guess as i have forehead wrinkles and 11s that aged me at least 10 years and I constantly looked angry.
They're gone now ❤

I'm 35 but do have crepey eyes and generally look tired.
Shall I wait for this treatment?
My silver bullet.

macymacy · 03/08/2018 00:48

I had my face, neck and décolletage done. Brilliant results all over. My neck is much less crepey and this is one of the areas known to be difficult to treat. Can't say enough good things about it.

macymacy · 03/08/2018 00:50

Not sure it would do much for smokers lines...It's more cheeks and chin... that may be just my experience though

Cambionome · 03/08/2018 08:14

How long do you expect the results to last for, macy?

princesstiasmum · 03/08/2018 11:50

macymacy how good is the result for your neck, this is what bugs me more than my face,
There is a local nurse who does this, but i need to know first how good results are,and i know it will depend on what its like to begin with
Would really like a necklift, but cant afford it

DameDoom · 03/08/2018 13:42

Katisha I very much doubt it would sort out proper bags unfortunately.
I met another friend for dinner last night. She immediately asked what I had had done as am looking so much fresher - her words. She has booked in today.
princesstiasmum the nurse who did mine has had her neck done. It has gotten rid of necklace lines and crepey texture - her neck looks amazing. It will definitely give you huge improvements but I doubt it would provide major lifting.
I would say Profhilo turns the clock back on what you already have to a certain extent but other options may be needed to.

princesstiasmum · 03/08/2018 15:03

DameDoon thank you,its mainly the bit of loose skin under my chin, a bit of neckband but not a lot ,not crepey at all
I think i will enquire, but will try to find some pics

DameDoom · 03/08/2018 15:14

I will report back when I get mine done. At this rate will be a penniless Profhilo addict on a park bench somewhere but at least I'll be looking my absolute best.

joeybarnett · 03/08/2018 15:31

You guys aren't reps for Profhilo are you? Haha!

I personally would never try it - sooooo expensive. And lets face it - it's all in the genes and maybe diet and drinking enough water?

Also, making sure you get enough sleep to feel and look refreshed - easier said than done though!

But all of that is free and not £450 +

Not everyone has that much money to spend on cosmetic procedures!

Truckingonandon · 03/08/2018 15:37

How old are you joey? If you're under 45, come back when you're 45+ and see if you still think a good nights sleep is all you need. So what if people can afford it - you could say the same about anything. I can't afford a month on a private Maldives island but I can afford profhilo. I'm defo not a rep either - I'm just a slightly vain ageing sheep !!

DameDoom · 03/08/2018 15:50

Menarefrommarsitwouldseem I think your age makes you the perfect candidate. You will look so refreshed that you won't need other stuff doing.
I could pinch the crepe under my eyes and it took ages to go back to shape, now it's bouncing back all springy and boingy. I could have saved myself a lot of time and money if Profhilo was available in the olden days.
joeybarnett I hear you and appreciate that not everyone has the time, inclination or money to have these procedures done and I agree that a healthy lifestyle is key but I love all this stuff - it brings me joy and I certainly economise in other areas to be able to afford the facial tinkering I have done.
I have brought in a lot of custom to the clinic I go to over the years so should maybe be on commission - I just enjoy sharing stuff I find fab with others with similar interests.

I've seen it advertised at my Botox lady's clinic but never looked into it. Think I might now! Going to see her on Tuesday for a top up on the 11s so will ask then. Tinkering is fun!

I'm tempted to do Vaser to my mum tum too but the waiting list for the best known is 3 months long.

Marjpoops · 03/08/2018 16:14

I'm very tempted. Had botox for the first time recently and it's not done great things for my hooded eyes, I just look rather cross and demonic. I think I'd prefer to look refreshed and still expressive, even if it mean the lines are there.

joeybarnett · 03/08/2018 16:33

Truckingonandon - ok So I'm not 45 but my mother is in her late 50s and she looks great and has never used cosmetic surgery which is why I have always put it down to genetics more than anything :-)

Yes but like, say £450 that could go on a cheap sunny hol to Greece?! Haha! But I get what you are saying :-) I'm sure when I reach that age I will be wanting to splash out on anything that will make me look that bit younger.

DameDoom - I was just saying that because they should totally bring the cost down! Not that people shouldn't pay to get it done at all.

I have considered cosmetic stuff before (and have actually had a breast augmentation which was mainly due to huge weight loss and reconstructive more than anything) so I am definitely not against any of it.

Just hoping costs are brought down by the time I have reached 50 haha!

Spartacunt · 03/08/2018 17:13

This thread has a definite whiff of PR about it.

DameDoom · 03/08/2018 17:23

I am PRing the heck out of it - for free mind. Am just spreading the word whilst on my 6 weeks hols. Have little time for bigging up and PRing during term time but if I like something, I always share.

Might be in the wrong career.

joeybarnett · 03/08/2018 17:25

Spartacunt - Haha that's what I thought!

Truckingonandon · 03/08/2018 18:26

Well I've been on here for years and am definitely not in any way connected to the product/treatment/clinics. The person who posted about belladonna in bolton however......

ProjectGainsborough · 03/08/2018 18:42

Well, I am following in the hopes of a silver jowl bullet.

If anyone wanted to put up a photo it would be much appreciated.

There’s a lady in my village that does it, but she’s not a great advert for her work generally!

DameDoom · 03/08/2018 18:46

I will put mine up after the second treatment. They took before pics at clinic so I will hopefully show a good side by side result.

I am very interested in trying this product. Is it similar to Sculptra?
