Face tinkerers - Profhilo is flippin' brill

I have started many threads over the years about the non-surgical fixes I have had: botox, liquid face lift, threads etc... Anyway, about a year and a half ago I did realise that I was looking a bit done - my honest friend told me and she was right - I thought I was subtle but tweakage is cumulative and before you know it ... well, you know.

I am still very interested in all that shizz so I popped to my clinic and asked if there was anything that would not freeze my face, make me look less knackered but still my age (46) . That's when they recommended Profhilo.
It's a course of two treatments a month apart. 5 injections on each side of the face with pure hyarulonic acid which then spreads across your face and encourages your own collagen and elastin to rebuild.V clever.
I had my first round on Tuesday so expected no results whatsoever but woke up on Saturday with the skin of a baby. It already feels dead plump, pores have disappeared and there is some slight lifting. It's not even supposed to be working yet but I feel I look so much better.

Cannot wait to see full results after two treatments.

Doubt it would work for my turkey neck though it's too far goneGrin

cathyandclare · 08/08/2018 09:00

I have a friend who has had Vaser on her legs. I've not seen the changes in swim wear, but in jeans and leggings the difference is incredible. She's very happy.

FiestaThenSiesta · 08/08/2018 09:26

This journo also has a blog and writes about her (probably free) neck treatment

princesstiasmum · 08/08/2018 09:35

Wouldnt work for me, i dont think, my problem is the skin in the midle under my chin, which is very loose, Sad

confusedmomm · 08/08/2018 10:12

@princesstiasmum think for the loose skin under chin there is something called strawberry lift? Not sure how it works though.

confusedmomm · 08/08/2018 10:13

@cathyandclare thanks for the info!! How long ago did she have it? Just wondering if it lasts in the long term?

cathyandclare · 08/08/2018 10:14

A few years and she still looks good :)

cathyandclare · 08/08/2018 10:16

She's not overweight, eats well and exercises-but had stubborn saddlebags. I don't know what would happen if you gained weight, but I guess it would go on generally rather than in that specific area.

confusedmomm · 08/08/2018 11:08

Thanks @cathyandclare much appreciated!

princesstiasmum · 08/08/2018 22:17

confusedmomm thank you i will try to find out what it is and how it works

Truckingonandon · 09/08/2018 20:15

Im 48 hours later and the injection 'lumps' have all but gone now. I'm so impatient and unrealistic though and REALLY want to see a change but nothing so far!!! Face looks exactly the same!

cathyandclare · 12/08/2018 09:19

I've been a total sheep and had it too! It was a bit stingy and sore but totally manageable, after the treatment there were small bumps that weren't very noticeable. They'd disappeared by the next morning and I think it looks a bit better already!

I like the idea of this treatment. I've only had botox once, and I'm not mad about it ( apart from crow's feet). I have an over-expressive face and when that goes, even if I'm less wrinkly, I think I look weird.

DameDoom · 12/08/2018 15:01

Keep us updated Truckingonandon and cathyandclare. I was in Jigsaw yesterday and their mirrors always make me look knackered. I looked much better (IMO).

Well it's a week later and I think I can see a difference but it's a tiny difference and I might even be imagining it to be honest! I'm hanging my hopes on the 2nd treatment, which is when the magic is meant to happen.

JMAngel1 · 14/08/2018 20:56

Definitely feed back guys.

princesstiasmum · 14/08/2018 22:14

I do wonder about these treatments which are supposed to build collagen, i have had some and found no difference ,i know its supposed to take a bit of time, but i hope anyone who has had this treatment finds it works ,i am going to see how others go before i decide to do anything

DameDoom · 15/08/2018 00:25

This is proven to build collagen and is multi-award winning; however, it's not going to give anyone skin they had in their twenties and certainly doesn't claim to. My skin is getting better day by day and I have my next treatment next week.
My skin is looking bouncy and taut... for an almost 47 year old and I am happy with that.
Profhilo is your age but better - it won't give you a new face. If anyone wants that then it is definitely not the right treatment.

I've got mine coming up, I'm 40 and fly a lot for work, no matter how well I've taken care of my skin it's never quite plump enough! I have a line running down my cheek (sleep line?) so I'll be interested to see if that gets filled out.

princesstiasmum · 15/08/2018 09:52

DameDoom not saying Profhilo wont work, but had other treatments which claim to build collagen and no difference,
My daughter has too, with younger skin than me but seen no difference,
My skin is good for my age, very few wrinkles, except round moth and a few crows feet, but not seen any difference there
I will see what the results are for Profhio and maybe try it, Smile

ChardonnaysPrettySister · 18/08/2018 16:53

There is a video on Caroline Barnes' YouTube channel now where she has it done.

They say it lasts 6 weeks though.

QueenOfIce · 18/08/2018 19:49

That's because she's only having the 1 lot of injections, doesn't seem she's going back for the 2nd after a month.

macymacy · 18/08/2018 21:08

I am 48 and I never imagined I could have skin like this! This is 4 weeks after my 2nd Profhilo treatment. Excuse the skanky hair, I'd just got up!

TheOnlyAletheia · 18/08/2018 21:22

Your skin looks marvellous macymacy. I’m off to see my doctor at the end of this week - can’t wait!

DameDoom · 18/08/2018 21:30

macymacy what a fantastic result. Flawless and lifted but completely natural. Can you do a full face with scribbled out eyes?
My second treatment is on Tuesday... can't wait.

JMAngel1 · 19/08/2018 19:09

wow macymacy - so have you had a lifting effect as well as the obvious plumping effect? would you say areas like naso labial folds are reduced?
