I will probably go with shalimar as well, though the Primark amber noir is suitably incensey for me to give it a whirl. Quite impressed with it.

OCSockOrphanage · 25/02/2018 19:00

Been away for weekend with old friends. Scents were PP Le Labo Rose 31 and CdG Serpentine.

It is also true that I wore Secretions Magnifiques for a week. I ended up quite fond of it, but it was a boating holiday with limited washing facilities, and quite chilly, and I was more bothered about having forgotten to take any socks.

Apparently Superdrug is doing decent dupes of the most popular Jo/No Malones.

SoFancy · 25/02/2018 19:11

SOTE is ET Diamonds and Emeralds.

Tuberose, gardenia and juicy apricot and peach. I forgot how good this is! It's really working its magic on my skin on this cold night. Two sprays has filled my bedroom, though. Luckily DH is away Grin.

PerfumeIsAMessage · 25/02/2018 19:13

I have the JM Superdrug dupe Basil Lime Mandarin, spray and candle. It's lush, very Eau du Sud and was £4.50 for the big bottle, and £2.50 for 3 purse sprays in the sale at Christmas, a rose, a fig and the BLM.

Candle is shite. Had it burning right next to me today and couldn't smell anything, but the perfume is great. (I think it's the Bloom brand? Mine is, anyway)

In vintage Ysatis tonight.

mrsreynolds · 25/02/2018 19:13

Sote is PP opium
Yum yum

SoFancy · 25/02/2018 19:26

Yesss!! Just bagged myself a 5 ml of the Poison extrait on Ebay.

Also bid on 30mls of D&G Feminine, long ago discontinued. I wore it in the late 90s. An icy white floral with a cool, dry musk dry down. The PP dupe is too sweet to be a convincing dupe, so I need this back in my life

CheapTarnishedGlitter · 25/02/2018 19:42

SotD was Big Sniff Reve D'Infini. Not quite PM on me but not one I'd buy. Started to think it was quite nice with best sillage I've ever known, then remembered I had a candle going Blush

Was No Malone Lime Basil and Mandarin - lovely as colleague bought me a candle and bath stuff set when I went on Mat Leave the first time round and I'd not got round to using it. Lovely today though- bit sad to hear the Superdrug dupes not all that - would happily replace with a good dupe when it's finished.

Best of luck on Ebay. Bit Hmm by how much empty TF bottles go for. I get vintage classic designs that are no longer on sale, but black orchid??

MrsGruber · 25/02/2018 19:44

Glad it reached you safely Janet. Let me know what you think of the Cardin and Lyn Harris. Smile

positivepineapple · 25/02/2018 20:16

Glitter The white company Lime & Bay is a good imitation, not cheap as chips but £20 instead of £45 for a candle.

Judydreamsofhorses · 25/02/2018 20:22

SOTD is MMM Fireplace. Feeling a bit nervous about the forecast snow...

auberginesrus · 25/02/2018 20:52

Evening all, inspired by the thread title I've had a bath but no face mask and am swapping the egg and chips out for some toast and peanut butter. SOTE is Sexiest Scent from my testers - its absolutely blooming gorgeous. DS2 says i smell like chocolate Smile

Tried Dark Heart of Old Havana today

  • courtesy of Mrs G. Jury is out, some things i really liked but there is an all pervading sense of overripe fruit im not sure about. Will perservere.
explodingkittens · 25/02/2018 20:53

SOTE is Another Kiss By The Fireside. We are (just) in an amber snow warning area. I love snow if I don't have to actually get anywhere but the trek to work this week is going to be a total PITA if the weather reports are to be believed - my train company is a joke at the best of times. Hey ho.

Judy I think you might live in more or less the same area as DP's parents - they are battening down the hatches. Hope it's not too bad for you.

Yes, think it's one of the marmite ones Aubergines ...

mrsreynolds · 25/02/2018 21:11

So glad you like sexiest scent 😁
It's dreamy isn't it?

Ollivander84 · 25/02/2018 21:11

SOTD - 4160 sleep knot. Didn't want anything strong as doing care work tonight

MrsGruber · 25/02/2018 21:28

Back in Diva to comfort myself having missed out on bargainous bottles of vintage Y, Arpege and Femme. What have you done PiaM!

pestilentialboundary · 25/02/2018 22:16

4160s getting bought up by L'Oreal Shock thanks MrsG you may have induced stress nightmares in many of us.

Pineapple , I have also discovered a liking for some Lolita Lempickas.

DD has virtually every Poison. I like them on her but cannot wear them myself, reminds me of the wrong parts of my youth.

Have managed to miss the Big Sniff today [whoops]. Am now fragranced with Brooks Black Fleece. It is perfect for spraying in the bath.

MrsSchadenfreude · 25/02/2018 22:33

SOTD was Un Jardin de Monsieur Li. A citrus that lasts. Got a cheap bottle from TK Maxx. Speaking of TK Maxx, the Charing Cross Road branch has quite a lot of Miller Harris.

SM smells like sweaty, spunky man pants. Ugh. When I lived in Paris, my doctor was in the same street as the main Etat Libre d'Orange shop and I used to pop in for a sniff. Fat Electrician is my favourite. My office when I first moved there was between Annick Goutal and Frederic Malle. Thankfully we relocated soon after.

DH has just bought himself a huge bottle of Creed's Virgin Island Water. Or as it is known in this house, Virgin's Wee.

misiabella · 25/02/2018 22:52

motoko this year's summer versions of Daisy, Daisy eau fresh and daisy dream are called Twinkle. The bottles have a bit of a violet tint. It must have been one of them :)

MrsGruber · 25/02/2018 23:14

Good to see you MrsS. Stacks of MH in my local TK Maxx too - pre-Mother's Day is a good time of year.

On the plus side Pest, folks on this thread would be sitting on a ton of pre-reformulated/deleted stock Smile . That's just to help you and MrsR sleep - obviously we all share a v v strong preference for this not to happen...! (Hope all is well - boundary dispute sounds potentially tricky?).

MrsGruber · 25/02/2018 23:17

Have got carried away on eBay hard stare at PiaM and acquired another bottle of Red Roses, Black Violets & Cyclamen. If anyone would like to try some, do pm me.

toffee1000 · 26/02/2018 02:05

popping in

I like nice scents, but you guys are in another league...
I started off mostly with Body Shop body mists (still have a few) but have recently acquired some more “sophisticated” perfumes. The only ones I have currently are Eau des Jardins (Chanel), Roses de Chloé and a Coach one (either EDT or EDP, I forget). I don’t even wear them that often GrinGrin
I like looking at scents online, mainly through the Debenhams website... particularly like the look of Be Delicious by DKNY (apple-y one) and Ô de Lancôme/Ô de L’Orangerie. So I seem to like floral/fresh/citrusy/fruity scents... like many people I guess.
I also LOVE the look of Demeter/Library of Fragrance. It’s brilliant how you can get Apple Blossom and Bulgarian Rose and then you also get Dirt and Petrichor GrinGrin if I only had the money... sigh
I also like scented candles. I have a few but haven’t used them yet. Grin

Kuriusoranj · 26/02/2018 03:51

Yay to me finally spotting your regular thread when it wasn't huge! Can you lovely perfumistas help me? I love the smell of fresh basil, is there a perfume that can genuinely capture it? I've tried a couple of JM which included basil in the name but they didn't smell anything like.

mrsreynolds · 26/02/2018 08:02

toffee welcome
Don't knock body shop scents! I think most of us had them at some point 😁
I'd try library of fragrance for basil scent - won't break the bank either
curious welcome too
Sotd is PP opium - snowing here ❄

mrsreynolds · 26/02/2018 08:05

You could also try guerlain aqua allegoria mandarins basillac but that's £££££
No malone does a couple but I'm not a fan
