I need to try Ealing Green again Smile.

IFancy - did you see Pest's great description of Girl down thread? If you've smelt other Comme des Garcons fragrance this is similar to other things of theirs with a modern green/woody vibe. Girl is very good. It manages to balance quite a fresh, peppery, woody green, with a milky violet (plus playdoh/concrete Grin).

IFancyASliceOfCake · 17/03/2018 09:45

Thanks MrsG - sounds intriguing!

MrsGruber · 17/03/2018 10:00

Aubergines - not very; my guess in 1993, but could be out by 10 years either way! (Apparently Dior batch codes run in 10 year cycles). It is very mossy.

MrsSchadenfreude · 17/03/2018 10:03

I don’t like Ealing Green at first burst, but after an hour or so, it settles down and is less harsh, but by the end of the day I dislike it again.

Am now tempted by PW Girl... damn you lot, every time I stick my nose in here I end up spending money! Grin

For those of you who were there when I made See You Next Tuesday for DH, which he hates, he loves my London 1969, which, to my mind, has none of the Lebanese businessman vibe...

BigPuddleOfFloofyCatOnTheFloor · 17/03/2018 10:06

MrsG you make Dirty Honey sound gorgeous, I might have to give it a whirl! Anne Bancroft perfume - Youth Dew, maybe WinkGrin Miffy pyjamas?! I need these! Did you know there actually is a Miffy perfume? (Will try to attach pic)I would get it but fear a PM and don't want to be disappointed by Miffy Smile

Enjoying the nightwear talk, I have Raynauds (very bad atm) so must confess my frothy gowns are teamed with fluffy socks and gloves, which ruins the look somewhat Grin As for perfume, well I have attached a pic similar to my latest acquisition (but my gown has long sleeves) I think it has to be Arpege? Perhaps Shalimar? I also sleep only in cotton, these are purely for lounging around looking flammable glamorous. I wish I had a chaise longue!

Good work on the Obsession MrsR

Happy St Patrick's Day anyway, Perfumistas. I feel I should be wearing Green Irish Tweed today! SOTD is Eau de Soir again, I need to invest in a bottle of this ASAP.

BigPuddleOfFloofyCatOnTheFloor · 17/03/2018 10:06

I knew I would forget the photos!

Hmm Dirty Honey is sounding good.

I reckon Mrs Robinson would be in Diorella - outwardly respectable but with an edge.

I've intentionally layered today, for the first time ever! August with Tobacco Rose. Am off to the hairdressers and felt that Anubis might be a bit of a challenge on its own. The addition of TR brings out the incense but makes it less scary, and makes TR more interesting. Result!

UnnecessaryFennel · 17/03/2018 10:29

Heavens floof, you're basically Alexis Colby Grin

UnnecessaryFennel · 17/03/2018 10:32

That's a good thing btw!

mrsreynolds · 17/03/2018 10:48

There is a star wars range of perfumes!!
Sadly according to the notes on fragrantica I prefer the dark side
🤣🤣
I always saw myself as a jedi good guy
Oh well...
Floral vanilla?? Ooooh

mrsreynolds · 17/03/2018 10:48

That's should have read "oriental vanilla"
Sigh...

MrsGruber · 17/03/2018 11:46

Anyone else want to confess to a taste in Miss L Fire shoes to go with the vintage glamour (not for lounging in though)?

Floof - funnily enough there is already a bottle of Miffy in our house and a bottle of black Stormtrooper too. Stormtrooper is more to my taste. (Miffy looks wonderful but is a bit cotton-woolly). You've reminded me of those great Max Factor cats - who collected those? PiaM?

MrsS - lovely to hear from you. I thought your creation was fabulous - do you remember what you put in it as it was the first thing I thought of when thinking about a plan for 4160s northern tour?

Sounds like Girl is in 10ml bottles at Poundland. So that's one of our more benign enables?

MrsGruber · 17/03/2018 11:59

Maybe there's the making of our next thread title somewhere here (whether you want to smell like Alexis Colby, Miffy, Mrs Robinson or a Stormtrooper....?). Any other ideas?

MrsSchadenfreude · 17/03/2018 12:00

It had a lot of sandalwood and musk, and some hedione. Will look it up.

MrsGruber · 17/03/2018 12:04

Great - thanks. Was it Aussie Sandalwood?

IFancyASliceOfCake · 17/03/2018 12:23

I decided to have a perfume free today as feeling a bit under the weather, but just popped out to the shops and was lured in by the tester bottles at the counter in Superdrug Grin

Tried Hug Boss Orange, which was a mistake. Vanilla and some sort of mild spice which I can't identify. Maybe anise? Sickly, anyway.

LibertyBlue · 17/03/2018 12:27

SOTD 4160 Lemon Sherbet... wow, very gourmand- a sweet in perfume but not sickly. I’m gettibg lemon and vanilla

MrsSchadenfreude · 17/03/2018 12:56

I don't know if it was the Aussie one - it was the expensive one though!

UnnecessaryFennel · 17/03/2018 13:32

Love that idea for a new thread title MrsG

Ugh. Full of cold. Perhaps buying 9ml of Dirty Honey would make me feel better...

positivepineapple · 17/03/2018 13:36

Has anyone ever been to Vegas? Every casino/hotel pumps a different scent through their air con.

The Aria smells exactly like Hugo Boss Orange.

UnnecessaryFennel · 17/03/2018 15:03

Hands up, which one of you just outbid me in the final 5secs on a bottle of vintage Diorissimo? Grin

Probably a good thing, to be fair...

IFancyASliceOfCake · 17/03/2018 15:47

Grin Fennel. It definitely wasn't me.

My last ebay parcels arrived on Thursday. A third fall bottle of vintage 24 Faubourg which is surprisingly good quality and hasn't lost any of its notes, despite being quite a dark liquid.

Also got a FB of a weirdy old discontinued Yves Rocher perfume Ive been coveting for ages, Shafali. Very happy with that.

No more perfume for me for a bit!

Never been to Vegas, pineapple, but I love the idea of hotels pumping out signature scents!

positivepineapple · 17/03/2018 17:31

I had a free sample of Chanel Gabrielle through the post today.

Nothing exciting, pleasant enough but I find all the modern Chanel fragrances really similar to each other. Almost like a signature note.

I've looked them up on Fragrantica and they do share some notes, but nothing that stands out. Does anyone know what this is? Or why?

I've not had any experience with Vintage Chanel but am definitely intrigued enough to seek some out now.

mrsreynolds · 17/03/2018 17:36

I'm watching repeats of Lewis, am in PP cinnabar and am about to have a fish finger sandwich 👍

positivepineapple · 17/03/2018 17:42

Cake it's a lovely touch. I always have a sniff of Boss Orange when I'm in Boots as it brings back lovely memories of that holiday.
