Thank you SoFancy your package arrived- wearing Doe in the Snow- it’s really good. A bit fizzy on opening- sparkling and peachy (must be aldehydes) very lovely.

To me it is but I'm useless at descriptions! I get powder from it. It's v well blended so not one note stands out. Really lovely

Oriane sounds beautiful, I may have to order. And seeing as I am new to 4160 - I may as well pop a few samples on the order - any recommendations? Not necessarily looking for something to my taste, I would rather something that I can learn from.

DITS doesn’t get much love here, but it was my first 4160 love and it’s still one of my favourites. Very peachy and Aldehydic, yes. A beauty.

New York 55 - tooth achingly sweet candy floss
London 69 - citrus, really refreshing and great for dreaming of summer

I got a sample of Oriane with my last 4160s order and have had a spray today, it's gorgeous and yes a bit powdery. May have to buy some ...

Pineapple - I've just reread the start of this thread and there are loads of 4160s recommendations. (Quite a few in the middle and to the end too ).

*Bluebell" - just spotted you were dead right about Amber Mambo and the soap was Spanish!

SotD Secretions Manifiques. I now smell like oysters. I'm allergic to oysters so this is not a good thing. I suppose it does exactly what it said on the tin!

I will might have to scrub and go to my perfume safe place.

Some I thought I would adore from the notes (but didn't!) - shazam!, sex goddess, midnight in the palace garden, eau my soul. All lovely scents but not for me.

Some I loathe 🤢 - lady rose lion and dark heart of old Havana

Away for the weekend, in PPs dupe of Le Labo Rose 31 and Serpentine.

ANd yes, it is truth that I wore SM all "holiday" (on a boat, with limited hygiene facilities) for a week. It got colder and colder as we motored north up the Rhone and by the last day, and the final clear up, all I could smell were cleaning products and diesel. SM was the least of my problems; I had forgotten to pack socks and it was days before we stopped anywhere I could buy some.
