Last - 4160s don't do a lot of heavier smelling stuff, but for amber, and resins, as others have suggested, try Shazam!, Eau My Soul, and if you might like your amber with red fruit, Amberama.

For jasmine (and glorious fruits on a sandalwood base) try Babylon Sunset.

They are great at herbal/aromatic accords, at the darker end of things try The Lion Cupboard, or for something greener, Ealing Green. Flora Psychedica rates a mention too as an unusual but highly wearble herby floral.

For iris, try (the more masculine) Goodbye Piccadilly or Eat Flowers.

SOTD is a Heeley sample, the leather and flowers one. I am off work sick, actually dying of cold. Could it be flu? Hope everyone’s okay.

Last current 4160s Amber fave for me is Amber Mambo. Bloody love it. It's a fresher, more wide eyed Youth Dew. Mmmmmmm.

Floofy parcel safely arrived - thank you. Quite like that we don't know what's inside and actually never will!! The ultimate blind sniff.

SotD is Jersey. Thought I'd read it was supposed to smell of fabric but I obviously made that up Anyway, it's lovely. Clean, a bit sparkly and light lavender.

Love Rhubarb and custard kittens. I also love Vanilla crumble, silk lace and chocolate (but only in my PJs!), Rhubarb cologne, Sex Goddess, and starting to really like Amberama.

I’m really attached to all these now, but only liked two on first sniff. I need to wear the other samples in my collection a bit more before I decide which 4160s I like

Enid - have worn Tart's Knicker Drawer today and it's defo a warm powdery rose/parma violet scent. If you buy a sample and don't like it I'll swap you for something else!

Funnily enough, I'm not so sure about the Vanilla Crumble. I think I might need my tonka/coumarin counter-balanced with something?

Thanks for all the good wishes. I don’t think it’s flu, tbh - I started with a super sore throat on Saturday, which I put down to too much screaming at Morrissey. By Sunday my throat was covered in pus. Throat’s fine now, but have hacking cough, alternating blocked/streaming nose, and just generally knackered.

To make things worse I had to cancel my last root canal session yesterday as there was no way I could have gone two hours with my mouth clamped open and him rootling around my sinuses. And now he’s on holiday until mid-March. I hope it holds out until then.

Last - just on yellow floral smells, worth trying Jean Patou's Sublime. It's yellow flowers on an amber base. I imagine the vintage version is fabulous as the current stuff is pretty interesting. It's not straightforward true love, but I find it really intruiguing/compelling.

I've always wanted to sniff L'Artisan's Mimosa Pour Moi. Have you tried?

Calm Maybe I was the nudge for them to fully rescind? My apologies if so, but sounds like you had lovely customer service off them which is good. I now have 15 million samples to try - trying to train my amateur nose. Hopefully have some worthy samples to offer soon.

Lasttime I'm a JM PN devout, but English O & HN is lovely. Fresh yet complex, masculine but light. I don't get any hazelnut unfortunately - maybe the almond overpowered it.

Haha - todays tester was London 1969, and I really like it so had a few good old squirts. Then the Atelier ones arrived, and the box smelled lovely, so I had a bash at Mandarine Glaciale (smells like takeaway curry) and Figuier Ardent (I like this one)

Takeaway curry is definitely a unique smell. I will wait for your further comments on the Atelier box before I order.
