I had a sample of La Nuit Tresor today. I liked it more on dry down and it didn't smell overly sweet on me. I got more berry initially than rose or caramel. Don't think I'd purchase but it anyone like a sweet perfume that's not too sweet, it's worth checking out.
I'm terrible at everyone's names sorry but appreciate all the good advice yesterday.
The perfume society website is brilliant for reading up on the technical terms and a the different families. Thank you for suggesting it.
The discovery box with the teeny bottle of Donna in it looks perfect. Think I'll treat myself to it. I love perfume miniatures too. I used to work in a dept store years ago and now and again the perfume counter would have a clear out and give sample miniatures and gift sets away to the clothing and home dept women. I had a lot of adorable little bottles.
Thank you very much for all the violets suggestions. I've tried Yardley but you're right, it's quite green. Lovely but I'm looking for that sweet powder. Like the Guerlain Meteorites powder pearls. I bought those just for the scent.
(and the packaging). Going through the others now.
Violet and amber sounds very intriguing Cheap. I like Amber in candles. It smells expensive if that makes sense.
Floof If you definitely don't want the insolence sample I'd love to try it. Really kind of you. Afraid I don't have anything I can offer back yet so only if you're sure.
I'm going on now but when looking up things on Fragrantica I noticed I like patchouli, as well as bergamot, as a note. So I do like sweet gourmand scents but possibly also oriental and things with a bit of smokiness or citrus in them. Just thinking out loud.
Mrsr I hope you feel better soon.
