Am worried that we may have broken The Perfume Society with The Big Sniff... Still no sign of a joining box but I did get another Velvet box and another Fabric Fashion and Fragrance box today. With Elise's triple delivery and (I'm assuming) Count not getting the joining box it looks like there's a gremlin somewhere in the system...

Bluebell - yes the first few moments have a hint of industrial chemicals on my skin, but then it's beautiful for hours.

Still not got my PS joining box and clearly I should have ordered some other boxes so I could experience the good gremlins! Good think I've got my Bloom subscription to keep me amused. SotD Etat Libre D'Orange. Absolutely gorgeous opening, mix of pink peppercorns and orange and patch and a honeyed floral. Decent sillage as well. Was looking up FB prices and everything. Then after about 3 - 4 hours it seemed to disappear completely .

Has anyone got Beaufort's 1805 Tonnere? I'm really trying to make it work but DH2 keeps asking if anyone can smell chorizo.

Lost - those Beauforts really push at the boundaries don't they? I find 1805 extraordinary (yup, this does smell just like I imagine being trapped in the middle of a 19th century naval battle would). But that's such a huge scary smell I want it piped round naval museums not on my wrist. Vie et Armis is marginally more wearer-friendly but similarly spectacular. They make you think about what perfume is for....

I think we have broken the Perfume Society- I also received an erroneous repeat of a previous order today.

I'm a new 4160 Tuesday's convert. Just today actually. I was investigating which perfumes smelt like hops (after starting beer brewing) and Up the Apples and Pears came up as an option. So I bought a sample as I knew it they are popular on here. And it's lovely!

Have tried Eat Flowers today (on paper only so far) - it starts beautifully, with a perfect arc of flowers, fruit and I think a bit of musk? Will see how it develops. But it looks like the mods have gone from the 4160s sale now?

Well if ever there was a reason to read up on your perfume to make sure it's work appropriate it was today. SotD MAAI. Big animalic chypre. Very vintage in style, reminded me of Paris 1948 in style but more floral and skank and just generally bigger and very grownup. Gorgeous but too much for work (although if I'd done a single spray it might have been OK). I tried scrubbing my wrists several times today because I felt the sillage was too much for work but DH could still easily smell it on my wrists when I got home. So great value for money!

MAAI??

Maai (Bogue) is the most fabulous throw-back and really, really wearble. Am nursing my sample. Here's what Luca Turin said:

It is lovely. But after a month of ACs and their shocking longevity I rather oversprayed

SOTD 4160 New York 55 a sweet floral that starts fizzy and becomes powdery, it’s a lovely wear and had good longevity on me.

lostinshoebiz my DH really likes Beaufort Tonnere - it’s as evocative as mrsgruber says and not for me, but smells great on him. Incidentally he hated Vie et Armis - had a very strong reaction and scrubbed it off, even though mrsgruber said it’s gets much better/ less challenging past the opening. It was part of his best of 2017 Bloom Collection box

Had a message from TPS - a clerical error was to blame so my joining box will be on it's way and I can keep the duplicates. Can't argue with that

Eat Flowers for me too this afternoon (ahem. Finger slipped/sleep ordering/some other really legitimate reason). What an appropriate name!! Felt like a bunch had been shoved right up my nose. Was settling nicely but now I smell of DCs bubble bath so will have to try it again soon. Free sample was Amber Mambo but if they're not selling it any more I'll have to hope it's no better than ok!

SotM was EL Modern Muse (very cute sample bottle in TPS box). Dead ringer for Impulse O2 - I'm sure something else reminded me of that. Possibly one of the AC samples??
