I've recently replaced all of my make up and have made the switch from high end to cheaper brands I used to buy lancome, Clinique, ysl, dior, mac, benefit and urban decay however when everything needed replacing I didn't feel I could justify 400 pounds plus so now switched to a couple of cheaper brands

The best switches I've made are

Elf primer instead of soft box saving 20.00

Make up revolution eyeshadow pallet instead of urban decay naked pallet saving 33.00

I literally can not tell the difference between high end and cheap and cheerful so what are your best dupes/switches?

MUR conceal and define is a dupe of tarte shape tape. I'm ghostly pale and the C1 (palest) shade is great on me

Apologies haven't time to real the whole tread so this may have been mentioned but
I keep coming back to max factor 2000 calorie mascara - it s as good as YSL, Lancôme, Benefit, Charlotte tilbury, Chanel and Clinique (am mentioning the other ones I ve worn and gone back to 2000 calorie from)

Maybelline lash sensational is a dupe for roller lash. After many years of chopping and changing mascaras this is now my holy grail.

Suki I'm a bugger for touching my face and feel like when I use setting spray my makeup doesn't move as much and I don't get that powdery makeup feel when I touch my face.

😊. Thanks. I am a cheek and chin hand-rested and find that as the day wears on, my blusher wears off...patchily. Will try some.

Meant to type, “Hand rester”.

My massive MUR order came today and I'm so looking forward to trying the chocolate orange eyeshadow set! Had a quick try of the colours on my hand and there's not one I don't like.

Not sure about the conceal and define concealer but might have ordered the wrong shade. I wasn't expecting it to be so pink but I'll give it a go and report back.

Just been into town and got the NYX lipstick recommended on this thread, it's lovely! Looked at lots of palettes and eventually chose a Matt NYX one, as I already have lots of shimmery ones. Have been watching YouTube videos on how to do eyeshadow as I need to update my look. Wow there's a lot of blending!

Baubles
I just don't get the love for the Max Factor 2000 calorie mascara.
For me it's not a patch on Chanel Le Volume.

😀 each to their own I guess, I find it stays put and looks good,

baubles 2000calories all the way. Have tried many others and keep coming back to it.

Baubles, agree re 2000 calorie mascara, its the only one I can accidentally get in my eyes and it doesn't hurt. I'm clumsy.
I'd also like to make it last longer, I use makeup infrequently and the MF2k dries out really fast. And by really fast I mean 6 months. Blush

My best dupe is Boots natural collection Pink Cloud blusher instead of Benefit Dandelion, saves £18 at least.

W7 Porefection Pore Minimiser Primer is a perfect dupe for Benefit's Porefessional Primer.
£4 compared to £24, what's not to like!

L'Oreal Not Simply Nudes palette is amazeballs and lasts all day (on me, who usually looks totally unmade up within half an hour)

I am also using the N7 Lift and Luminate foundation mentioned upthread and it is beating hands down the Chanel (3 different ones) Armani and Dior I have in my drawer. Colour is perfect, it goes on perfectly, it stays on all day, my skin feels soft and it doesn't settle into pores and lines. (the Dior Nude I have was a bugger for that. I rocked the Barbara Cartland look tbh)

It's really good, nic. The colours are really vibrant...as I found out giving it a try before work and had people asking if I had plans for after work Grin

There are (surprisingly) a lot of orange based colours but they all blend seamlessly, if you are prepared to put the effort in.

I don't really want to try too much without having plans to put it to good use but I'm really pleased with it so far.

Intrigued by the No 7 Lift and Luminate foundation...it gets shite reviews on the Boots website. I'm tempted to give it a go but a bit put off by that. Is it really any good?

I've seen them but they scare the bejesus out of me. I've never got the hang of highlighter Confused

I might have another look on the tam beauty site and treat myself...and learn how to master highlighters Grin
