Come my pretties.... Some of us did this last year, the idea of this is wearing a different lipstick everyday. I have more lipsticks than you can shake a stick at, I collect them. Grin

Today I wore Kiko metal lipstick in Unconventional Gold, from their Arctic Holiday collection. It wasn't very pigmented, but it still looked pretty, (I'm partly blaming this on the condition of my lips, as they're as dry as the Sahara at the moment, and a bit flaky and scabby and disgusting at the moment to boot.) I will post a picture of the lipstick in a bit, it looks very pretty in the tube. Smile

I have all kinds of lipstick from Chanel to MUR! I'm a sucker for both high-end and super cheap. Depending on the formula some of the cheaper ranges can provide excellent quality. I really rate Essence Matt lipsticks. They are some of the most comfortable mattes around. Mattes are really difficult, they tend to dry out your lips anyway so price is no guarantee of quality. The colour is slightly outside of my comfort range. I usually go for reds and raspberry. Nudes wash me out.

SapphireSeptember · 13/01/2018 00:11

Hello everyone! I was busy today, I started out wearing Kiko Arctic Holiday matte lipstick in Chocolate Truffle, which turned out to be a dark greyish purple, then went on to the Kiko Arctic Holiday holographic lip balm (it's NOT holographic, it's iridescent, I really wish companies would stop calling things holographic when they aren't! Angry ) But anyway, it's a pretty blue toned iridescent lip balm, makes me look like an ice queen! Then I went on to Make Up Revolution Salvation velvet lip lacquer, in Velvet Black Heart, a very dark purple.

And I've counted some more of my lipsticks! Yes, that is a bag for life full of make up! I counted 304 which brings my total so far to 595! Grin Blush (There's a few lip glosses and lip crayons in there now, not just straight up lipsticks.)

Buster I'm glad it's not just me who ignores use by guidelines on make up!

Today is Milk Makeup lipstick in Wifey, which is a nice satin-matte sort of plummy MLBB

Love that colour Longrider and Leedy.
Wow Sapphire. That must be more than Boots! I am an amateur! And never pay attention to use by dates.
Def going to check out Kiko Artic collection. Looks lush online.

GlovesAndHatsAndFloofyCats · 13/01/2018 14:19

Ooh leedy I love that colour but I think sapphire wins the trophy for this thread! Possibly a giant lipstick shaped trophy? Grin

My lippy of the day is a Topshop Matte Bullet but annoyingly I can't find the shade on it. It was purchased from TK Maxx for about £2 ages ago. The photo was taken after drinking a cup of tea, a cup of coffee and lots of water, and eating a bowl of porridge, a peach and two chocolate truffles. Bargain!

I didn't eat and drink that all at once, you understand

AnotherPinkiePieStory · 13/01/2018 17:09

Like that gloves. Haven’t been in Toppers for years (as I used to call it) but heard good things about their lipsticks. Will add to list.
After all the chat, I looked out my Essence lipsticks. Here’s ultra last ‘catch up red’. Feels lovely, no bleeding or wear off in middle. And £3!

Today I'm wearing Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk.

countrygirl171 · 13/01/2018 18:00

Enjoying this thread. Today I'm wearing Marc Jacobs Le Marc Lip Creme in Kate. Going to try and wear the lip products I hope and not buy any more for a while!

BusterGonad · 13/01/2018 19:45

Pinkie that's a beautiful colour, I think a trip to Wilkos is in order. No lipstick today as I rarely wear make up at the weekend. I'm all or nothing, a full face or completely bare!

GlovesAndHatsAndFloofyCats · 13/01/2018 20:00

Buster you reminded me of something I wanted to ask - does anyone here only wear lipstick but no other make up?

I can't wear eye make up for medical reasons so don't wear anything at all other than lipstick (occasionally light dust of powder if I'm shiny) but I wonder if I'm the minority here? I love lipstick and always wear it (plus pearls and perfume!) but nothing else. Does everyone here like all the other make up? Or is there anyone else who just wears only lipstick?

SapphireSeptember · 13/01/2018 20:22

Pinkie and Gloves, yay! I haven't finished counting them all yet! I'm doing it in bite sized chunks. I've got a couple more boxes and random ones scattered around, I think I'm going to do that tomorrow. Then I'll give you lovely lot the grand total. If I have less than 1000 I'll be very surprised!
RE the Arctic Holiday collection, I wanted all the lip stuff, and quite fancied the eyeshadows but they seemed to be sold out. They were so pretty too! But I think I got enough eye stuff last year, I bought loads of Make Up Revolution eyeshadow palettes, so I shouldn't really buy anymore. Blush

Lipstick today was two of the Kiko Fall 2.0 shiny lip stylos. They're weird, they go on almost liquidy feeling, then dry down but still look glossy, (they have matte versions of the same shades, that feel the same but dry matte. Obviously. And I have the matching lip liners too.) Anyway, I wore Innovative Nude and then Iris In My Mind.

Gloves You are not alone! I wear lipstick just by itself. I find it brightens me up. My preference is to wear lippy with some eyeshadow and eyeliner, and some highlighter (as I got into that last year and now own quite a few) and sometimes I'll wear some face powder (white) but I never wear foundation or concealer and rarely wear mascara (although I got a free Smashbox one last year from Boots because I got two Smashbox things. I think it was £20!) So I've worn that a couple of times and quite like it, but can't be bothered for everyday.

BusterGonad · 13/01/2018 21:42

Gloves I wear a full face or nothing. On holiday I might just wear a gloss (usually with SPF) but at home (uk) all or nothing!!!

isambardo · 14/01/2018 10:23

Gloves, I only wear a neutral lipstick on its own, if I wear much colour I need to balance it out a bit with mascara at least. I own a B.B. cream but don’t own foundation so I’m fairly minimal.

Sapphire I’m amazed by your collection!! Do you have some loves you’ve rediscovered now?

For me, it’s Marc Jacobs lip creme in Blow today Grin. Lousy pic again, sorry.

Oh I've just found this thread and feel a bit delighted because my lovely husband bought me the mac snowball lipstick collection for Xmas and even though I only tend to go out to do the school run I've been bravely (because some colours are a bit out there) wearing a different colour each day. I'm loving it! Tend to keep safely swerving back to velvet teddy though as I luuuurve it.

OyWithThePoodles · 14/01/2018 11:10

1wokeup Envy That MAC Snowball collection looked lovely. I hinted but ...!

Only been wearing lip balm this weekend - working home alone. Will be putting some on tonight before the family gets back :-)

GlovesAndHatsAndFloofyCats · 14/01/2018 11:46

A thousand lipsticks sapphire?! Do you mind me asking how often you buy them, is it every week? (If you detect a slightly envious note there, you're not wrong Grin)

I'm so glad I'm not alone in my "nothing but lipstick". What I like about lipstick is the speed and ease in which it "brightens" up my face a little.

On that note I feel full of crappy lurgy today so have selected a Lipstains Gold (shade Lily). Does anyone remember magic lips, those coloured lipsticks that changed shade in the 80s/90s (you probably all do if you're the same age as me!) That company make the best lasting lipsticks for about a fiver (again you all no doubt know this anyway) so they are my choice for not getting out of bed to having to re-apply all day!

GlovesAndHatsAndFloofyCats · 14/01/2018 11:49

Actually I think it might have been rose, not Lily.

Octopus37 · 14/01/2018 12:18

Scandalous Shade by Revolution. Only £1 very impressed

isambardo · 14/01/2018 21:15

1wokeup lucky you! That collection looks lovely. Let us know how you get on with each colour. I got velvet teddy in a set of minis last year and never expected to like it so much, I think it will be the first lipstick ever that I use up.

RiskIt4Biscuit · 14/01/2018 21:31

Mac Faux.
I really like this one - it's lighter and more pink (less brown) than velvet teddy (which is also very nice), so it's more of a MLBB colour for me.

AnotherPinkiePieStory · 14/01/2018 21:43

1000!!! Wow. How amazing.
I’m a full face girl I think. Def foundation/ BB cream along with anything I have time for!
I spent 12 weeks without eye makeup after an eye operation and missed it so much. I practically kissed the surgeon when he said I could start wearing it again!
Gloves never heard of that brand but lasts all day you say....
Wearing Charlotte Tilbury So Marilyn. Ballsy red but doesn’t last very long so don’t love it.

SapphireSeptember · 14/01/2018 23:57

The results are in! I don't have 1000, I have 935 lip things! That's lipsticks, liquid lipsticks, glosses, crayons and liners (which I get mostly with lip kits. I've only bought 10 by themselves.) And 939 if I count the four lip palettes I have, the two ones Seventeen do, and two Tecnic ones (dunno why I'm hanging on to them, they came with a make up set, and if they're anything like the other lipsticks in there which I got rid of, they'll be shite.) I am not counting lip balms as well, that would take it over 1000, but as most of them are clear I don't see the point. I may have a problem. Grin

Gloves Some of them are Poundland finds, but I make use of offers, Kiko did a Black Friday sale that I made full use of and the half price sale that's still going, I like 3 for 2 offers, using Boots and Superdrug points, picking up things on clearance or from eBay or Amazon. I don't buy lipsticks every week, I sort of do a big haul once a month when I get paid. I've been collecting since I started working 8 years ago (although I have had some longer than that) and this is an accumulation of stuff. But I go through them every now and again, and give away things I don't wear or don't like anymore. It's nice to remind myself of what I have and that I don't really need 20 different fuchsia lipsticks. I'm a bit of a completist, but try not to take it too far. And fail miserably on that point. Or rather cheerfully. I'm getting better at being more discerning, although it was rather hard with Kiko last year as I liked a lot of their limited edition collections and bought most of it. Blush

Anyway, today I wore Inglot 435, part of the Black Swan collection. It's a really dark purple. I got wise to it this time, when I wore the black it was really dry and stiff, so I put lip balm underneath and blotted it. Much better! As I applied it over 12 hours ago and there's nothing left on my lips, here's someone else's pictures.
