Come my pretties.... Some of us did this last year, the idea of this is wearing a different lipstick everyday. I have more lipsticks than you can shake a stick at, I collect them. Grin

Today I wore Kiko metal lipstick in Unconventional Gold, from their Arctic Holiday collection. It wasn't very pigmented, but it still looked pretty, (I'm partly blaming this on the condition of my lips, as they're as dry as the Sahara at the moment, and a bit flaky and scabby and disgusting at the moment to boot.) I will post a picture of the lipstick in a bit, it looks very pretty in the tube. Smile

Sapphire do you rate Inglot? I’ve heard good things about them.

Marc Jacobs J’taime today, it’s lovely. Very wearable pink/red.

That is a lovely colour isam. I need that colour in my life. I’m wearing a limited edition matte from Kiko (from their birthday diva set: I’m a sucker for a minature!) gorgeous fuscia.

Also terrible shadow. I don’t have a wonky moustache!

RiskIt4Biscuit · 15/01/2018 15:09

Isam and AnotherPinkie, those colours are stunning on you!

I'm not wearing any makeup today, so I decided to go for a tinted/shimmery lip balm/gloss from By Terry. It's in the colour 100, which looks like an odd grey shimmery colour, but it is surprisingly wearable (it certainly doesn't look grey on the lips). It's quite nice.
It does have a very strong rose scent which I am not loving.

OyWithThePoodles · 15/01/2018 16:55

L'Oreal Beige Essentiel today - another discontinued one, sourced on eBay.

BusterGonad · 15/01/2018 18:10

Isam I saw your photo of Je'taim and thought "I must have that" read your caption and it's one I have! 😂 I'm really lusting after Blow! Is your photo true to the actual colour?

isambardo · 15/01/2018 19:50

Buster - Blow is a stunning colour, a dark berry, not brown at all. However it did go on quite patchy, it took some work to look right and I had to reapply a few times. Might be one to wear for a few hours rather than all day.

BusterGonad · 15/01/2018 20:29

I've heard that about that particular shade, I've wanted Blow for a good few years!

SapphireSeptember · 15/01/2018 21:03

isam Depends, I think their matte lipsticks are a pain, although I've figured out how to work with them. Their cream ones however are really lovely. I'm going to be buying some more on payday, as I've finally found somewhere I can buy the other shades of blue from the Pacific Blue collection (I have two of those, which I think are 290 and 291, and an orange which I think is 278.) I haven't tried anything else yet, although their eyeshadows look divine. Although it bugs me there are no shade names, because those are easier to remember than numbers.

Haven't worn any lipstick today as I've spent most of the day in bed. I still feel tired. I have so much to do this week! But as I've done my lipstick count I feel I've done something already.

A pink day. I think the only one in my collection. Usually go bolder! Kiko matte which is lovely then drying after a couple of applications. Pinker IRL!
However it has a mirrored silver tube so I love that I can apply on the go!

Today, I'm wearing Colourpop Ultra Satin Lip in Strip.
The Ultra Satin Lip is very comfortable to wear. It's a liquid lipstick, but it doesn't dry on the lips, so it looks and feels nice and despite not being super long-wearing like the lipsticks that dry on the lips, it wears really well.
IMO, it's very similar to the Marc Jacobs liquid lipstick formula. My only issue with this kind of lipstick is that I cannot apply it well with the doe foot wand - I have to use a brush.

The colour is similar to Mac Velvet Teddy, but more brown/warm. Which is interesting as Velvet Teddy always looks very brown on me - but I don't feel like that with the Colourpop Strip.

SheGotOffThePlane · 16/01/2018 17:57

Can anyone recommend a lipstick brand that's as smooth and moisturising as Estee Lauder but without the price tag?

Lottapianos · 16/01/2018 19:18

Try Revlon. I really rate them. Just the regular lipsticks, not the crayons or lip butters

SapphireSeptember · 17/01/2018 06:02

What Lotta said, their Superlustrous range is fantastic and they have loads of colours! If you want something that isn't stocked in the UK you can find it on Amazon or eBay. I've even found discontinued shades. (I love Raspberry Bite, I bought four tubes! Especially as they don't make it anymore. Sad )

I’m wearing Marc jacobs boy gorgeous today.

Revlon sounds good, I’ve never tried them.

Second Revlon. Sapphire got me into them last thread and love them!
Today soap and glory, super nude. Feels lovely but but peachy for my lip tone. Not really a nude for me but DH complimented it which never happens!

SheGotOffThePlane · 17/01/2018 12:08

I'll pop out for a walk through the snow and look for some Revlon today. I'm getting cabin fever.

RiskIt4Biscuit · 17/01/2018 14:43

Mac Patisserie. Quite a nice everyday pink nude, which is a bit glossy/shiny and leaves glitter particles on the lips as it wears off. I don't really notice the glitter before the lipstick as been worn off.
It's to be expected as it is a Lustre finish. It is very comfortable to wear and as more creamy and glossy lip products are becoming more fashionable, it fits right in.

Lottapianos · 17/01/2018 16:25

Does anyone have experience with MAC Retro Matte liquid lipsticks? Im absolutely loving one of the colours but I have a retro matte regular lipstick and I know how drying they are. Any reviews of the liquid version?

SapphireSeptember · 18/01/2018 14:35

Today I'm wearing Inglot 436 matte. Yesterday my lips were so atrocitous I dared not put anything except lip balm on them (and was reapplying that every ten minutes!) My lips started bleeding when I put lip balm on before applying this, but I was already committed. (I have just checked my lipstick very carefully, I'm hoping the lip balm acted as a barrier.) But I want to wear my lovely lippies! I have no idea why my lips are so bad this winter, normally it's my hands that suffer. Sad

Lotta I've never tried those, even the idea of the retro matte lipsticks were enough to put me off, let alone the liquid lipsticks. 😨 Try googling to see if you can find reviews. Smile

I've not tried Mac Retro Matt liquid lipstick but I love the colours too!

isambardo · 18/01/2018 20:17

I’ve not tried the Mac liquid lipstick either. I really like the retro matte lipsticks though - hard to put on as they are sooo dry but lovely once they are in place.

I’ve never fancied using a liquid lipstick at all, does anyone use them much?

I wore Marc Jacobs Slow Burn in the office today, lovely neutral colour but wore off quickly.

isambardo · 18/01/2018 20:20

I don’t want gloss to be fashionable again! I remember using Juicy Tubes and my hair sticking to my mouth. Hate having sticky lips 😩

SapphireSeptember · 18/01/2018 20:44

I use liquid lipsticks quite a lot, I have NYX, Make Up Academy, Barry M, Makeup Revolution, one Lottie London one, two B. make up ones, and a few by New Look. I think that's all. But yes, I like them. Grin

OP posts:
SapphireSeptember · 18/01/2018 20:47

I think the best formula out of those is a toss up between New Look and MUA, though I think Barry M is quite good. Haven't tried the B. ones enough yet to have an opinion.
