Lipstick Challenge January 2018.

Come my pretties.... Some of us did this last year, the idea of this is wearing a different lipstick everyday. I have more lipsticks than you can shake a stick at, I collect them.

Today I wore Kiko metal lipstick in Unconventional Gold, from their Arctic Holiday collection. It wasn't very pigmented, but it still looked pretty, (I'm partly blaming this on the condition of my lips, as they're as dry as the Sahara at the moment, and a bit flaky and scabby and disgusting at the moment to boot.) I will post a picture of the lipstick in a bit, it looks very pretty in the tube.

I went for a browny pink primark liquid lipstick that looked great until it started wearing off!

Is anyone else discovering that they have the same colour lipstick on different brands/formulas? Seems I just love a browny pink

rockandroll I really liked the Eden too but can’t work out if it’s a warm red or a cool red? Will try it again soon and see if it suits me. I’m on a quest for cool toned lipsticks hence why I bought the nyx calendar

iris illamasqua vixen is really pretty and so wearable will wear and post it tomorrow

Today I wore Mac velvet teddy, bought this in a quest for my lips but better - think this is good but might need something a bit more mauvey. It’s lovely for daytime wear though

Once again a failed the challenge today but I'm back at work tomorrow so hopefully I'll get my arse in gear and put some make up on!

Irisapfel I love that black velvet lipstick! I've not tried black before but might swatch one this week, I suspect I'm too pasty to make it look good though.

I just wore a burts bees tinted lip balm in red dahlia today as I was outdoors with kids all day. Must do better tomorrow.

Remus, I was colour matched to Number 7 caramel silk too, maybe we have similar colouring. I do like it but only wear it in the office.

Did you get any others when you were colour matched? That's the only one I picked up.

I'm a sort of very pale yellow colour, with dark hairs and hair, Isambardo. I've got the Brick Red as well, but can't remember if they matched me to that or if I just got it anyway. Have a couple of others too, but can't remember what they're called.

@mowglik, love Velvet Teddy on you. I have tried it but it looks much darker and browner on me.

I think Eden is a blue based red? I wore it over Christmas and it seemed like a classic red, not warm toned or orangey at all. But I'm no expert!

Today I’m back at work after 6 days off which feel like 16! Relaxed so trying to get back into it!
Wearing Charlotte tilbury Bitch Perfect. Looks great in tube and when first applied but then settles into my lip lines and looks too much like concealer for my liking. Maybe my lips are too dark for it as so many people rave about it. It’s a mini size so perfect for pockets so will persevere with reapplying!

I think that shade is nice Pinkie but it looks a bit drying? Charlotte Tilbury is so expensive, I would want it to be perfect for the price.

All I'm doing today is dropping the three year old at preschool and then chilling at home with the four month old waiting for some Amazon deliveries so I've gone for NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Stockholm, which is a my lips but better shade on me. I think I'm also coming down with a cold/virus, hopefully not!

Pinkie, I found Bitch Perfect a bit light for me unless I was wearing a shedload of other makeup (also have naturally very dark lips so get "concealer lips" effect with a lot of nudes) but Stoned Rose in the same range is similar but slightly darker and works really well, maybe worth a try once you've used up your mini?

Today I am rocking Bobbi Brown Crushed lipstick in Regal, which is a very nice bright/true red, while still being sheer enough to wear at work without frightening the horses.

Today I'm wearing another Marc Jacobs Le Marc liocream in Je T'aime. It's a lovely pinky, redy shade. For me it's quite neutral but on bloggers it looks very red! I think it's official a raspberry rum!

Rock, I have had a few Charlotte Tilbury lipsticks and they are far from perfect in my experience! The mattes are not bad as mattes go, but still end up pretty drying and the colour turns a bit garish by the end of the day. Not much longevity to the wear of the non mattes I find. Lovely range of colours but over priced and over rated if you ask me

Thanks rock Lava lips in vixen today, this looks like a dark pink in the pic but it is a bit more red. It has white bits running through it as well which might change the colour as it gets used? We’ll see!

Wearing NYX Tea Rose today, it’s quite nice but not really ‘sparking joy’ as Marie Kondo would say.
I hoped to get some good ideas for high street lipsticks on this thread but now I want all the Marc Jacobs ones. Damn you Buster! ;)

Today's lipstick is Kat Von D Mercy. Can't say I like it. It's very drying and feels all bitty. I think it will get thrown out

I've got on nars audacious lipstick in 'Raquel' today. An insanely flattering nude. Would post pic but have v unattractive perioral dermatitis atm so feeling a bit self conscious.

I have NYX tea rose in one of the round lipsticks. I don't mind the colour but it's really shiny and that puts me off it. Is yours matte?

Rockandroll it is the nyx matte lipstick. I do usually like it but it doesn’t last as well as Mac which is my fave.
I’ve tried the nyx matte lip cream too which has gorgeous colours but doesn’t last any time at all on my lips.

I've fallen back in love with my M.J lipsticks, I never fell out of love but it's just that when I'm wearing them they really cheer me up!

Have really failed in contributing to this thread so far.
Today I was wearing a plummy shade of matte lip stuff from the Body Shop. It matched my dress and was VERY long lasting - did not touch it up at all and whilst some had faded, I definitely removed some when taking off the rest of my makeup

Will try to remember to take a pick and post tomorrow ...

If I've got time in the morning then I'll wear another fav of mine, and take a snap of it too! 💄

Today I'm wearing MJ Dashing, another beautiful red, I'm only off to work but I don't care as it's lovely!
