Question: if you are over 35, would you wear a bikini like this?

Dh has given me this itsy bitsy bikini. and expects me to wear it in public (when we go on holiday). I am wondering whether I can pluck up the courage.

Dh seems to have overlooked the fact that I am not a tanned 21-year-old Australian model with a Brazilian wax: I am actually a pale-skinned 36-year old and only 5ft 2, with a Caesarean scar. Size 8/10 but nevertheless have a few wobbly bits.

I am very flattered that dh thinks I look good in it, but it is ridiculously skimpy.

So, what would you do? Should I just get into the holiday spirit, wear it and flaunt it, or will I look ridiculous?

(Dds are 2 and 4 so I won't exactly be lounging by the pool on this holiday; I'll be chasing round after them.)

Does anyone manage to achieve that look? & is it really timeconsuming?

The thought of waxing (which I assume those models must do) makes me cringe (but then leg waxing sounds painful enough!)

I would never have worn this even when I was 18. I'd be pleased that my dh thought I still had the figure for it though. Have to say though that G strings on the beach just remind me of Peter Stringfellow...... (even on a woman)

was somewhat surprised last summer to note that all German women under 70 were wearing bikinis, including the pregnant ones (looked great, actually). my swimsuit is a very classic plain black one piece, apparently that is old ladies wear over here lol

couldnt do the boden bikini though, my bum would look like a sofa covered in half an acre of that chintz.

I am 35 and wouldn't have worn it 10 years ago let alone now. Far too slapperish, if you wouldn't want to hurt his feelings just wear some skimpy shorts with it.

YOu would really need a full crack and bum wax for this wouldn't you? And proabbaly need your bum hole bleaching too, if you had to ebnd over it would expose everything. Yuk.

They only seem to do one size. Maybe that's why her DH bought it, as he knew he couldn't git the size wrong?

Yes but as already stated on this thread, nudist beaches aren't sexy, they're natural. Wearing just a tiny bit of see through nylon is sexy. But not a good look.

OK I've heard it all now. Waxed fanjos, bleached bumholes. What is the world coming to? Get yourself down M&S for a nice sensible one-piece.
