It is a lovely, chunky, heavy bottle though boldly, so there's that!

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 06/10/2017 16:06

SOTD is 4160Tuesdays Invisible Paladia. I believe this was a limited edition one, a mix of two other scents or something. It has a strange, almost paint like note when i first spray it and then it settles into something lightly spiced and leathery. An interesting one for sure

This is the first few days ive actually been bothered about wearing any scent for weeks now. The pneumonia really knocked me for six and im still recovering from it, im so so tired all the time but the doctor did say to expect to be wiped out for a few weeks even when id finally got rid of the illness

MrsMacNally · 06/10/2017 16:15

Many happy returns Badders.

Get well soon One.

Badders08 · 06/10/2017 16:17

Thank you!
Poor you one it can take weeks to recover from pneumonia x

GreenPolishToGo · 06/10/2017 16:28

Just nipping in quickly to let OnTheSherry know Midnight in the Palace Garden is 4160 Tuesdays half price Scent of the Week. Smile

You have all been busy. Lots to catch up on later!

Anyone fancy a challenge? How many different perfumes in your handbag right now? (Just emptied mine....).

explodingkittens · 06/10/2017 17:32

Hope you start to feel better soon one , it sounds absolutely rotten.

Have had a bath, a Beechams, some ibuprofen and am now in pyjamas and Joy Forever. This is really a bit too sweet for me (bordering on PM), but ds said I smelled nice when he came home from school. Then again, he is angling for a new phone...

explodingkittens · 06/10/2017 17:33

Oh, and happy birthday Badders! What are you going to buy? Can we enable you in any way? Wink

OnTheSherry · 06/10/2017 17:37

Green you absolute beauty!!! Thank you Grin

And happy birthday Badders! Of course you MUST have perfume!

Badders08 · 06/10/2017 17:38

Get the behind me satan(s)!
😁😂

CheapTarnishedGlitter · 06/10/2017 19:27

MrsM just the one Halo although I may have cleared another eight sample bottles out this morning

Happy birthday Badders! If you can't have a great for your birthday, when can you?!

Sounds like you're starting on your way to recovery one - hope things keep improving.

SOTD was an experiment layering Molecule 01 with Samsara, because why not? End result was very much like Samsara. With not one "ooh what are you wearing?". I just don't think me and molecule 01 have the right chemistry!

MrsPestilence · 06/10/2017 20:54

My Up the Apples and Pears arrived. I was already wearing Doe in the Snow so resisted. However there were samples of Black Velvet Cafe plus Silk, Lace and Chocolate so I indulged. Envy overkill in a bad way, had to have a good scrub.
Topped up with Mitsouko and set off to the theatre. Show cancelled due to stars DM being in the state where the doctors advise you to go. Sad Not quite the evening imagined but fitted in some decent tapas. And managed to spend an hour on coffee.

GreenPolishToGo · 06/10/2017 21:29

Happy Birthday Badders! Cake Wine Is there a particular perfume you're hankering after? A powdery one, perhaps?

OneNight glad to hear you're on the mend at last. Pneumonia's no joke, I'm not surprised it's knocked the stuffing out of you. Look after yourself. Flowers

Teta, like MrsMac I gravitate towards heavier mossy type bitter greens in the winter such as Magie Noire, Aromatics Elixir and Private Collection. All lovely and, ahem, very old-style. Vintage Magie Noire was today's choice and how I've been enjoying it in all its mossy, witchy, foresty glory - I have grown into it at last. Grin

I'd second or third Ealing Green as a beautiful, sharp green scent for Sandy to try. Other greens I love are Maison Martin Margiela Untitled, Atelier Cologne Trefle Pur, Chanel 19, Silences, Yardley Jade, L'Artisan Parfumeur Dzongkha, vintage Y, vintage Fidji and the incomparable Vent Vert in vintage form, preferably the Cellier formulation.

Hello Once have a lovely time perfume shopping. I haven't been to Blooms (something I must remedy) but the staff in Les Senteurs are lovely and really know their stuff. A lot of Atelier Colognes are fresh and citrus type, so you might like to look at those sometime. My favourite is Bergamote Soleil - sunshine in a bottle.

There are no perfumes in my handbag But quite a lot of perfumed scent strips. They seem to fall out whenever I'm looking for something. I think they breed in there...

Th has already bought me a lovely watch and hotel chocolat chocs from the dc so i shouldn't......😂

Badders08 · 06/10/2017 21:42

...im determined to sniff the guerlains that have eluded me to up to now...

Judydreamsofhorses · 06/10/2017 21:43

SOTD was JM Wood Sage, but now scentless after a shower, and in pyjamas - must have a spray before bed.

Happy birthday, badders, and hope kittens and one are back to full health soon. My tooth is super-sore again and I am scared, especially as my dentist is now on holiday for a fortnight. They do emergency care over the weekends split between a few practices, so I assume if it gets really bad someone else can see me?

Badders08 · 06/10/2017 21:43

Oh no judy :( not again :(

Judydreamsofhorses · 06/10/2017 21:44

Oh, but in better news it looks like DP has an interview next week! No confirmed date yet but the recruiter rang this afternoon to say they wanted to see him and check his availability.

Judydreamsofhorses · 06/10/2017 21:46

I know, badders. It's been on and off since June and while I 100% trust my dentist when she says there is no visible issue on exam/x-ray, something is not right. :-(

Badders08 · 06/10/2017 21:54

Good news re dh!
Tbh that's what happened with mine...i knew it wasn't right and kept going back - "give it time!" They kept saying - then dentist finally took an x ray which showed "changes"
Then I had it extracted and you could see the 2 abseses!

GreenPolishToGo · 06/10/2017 21:55

Oops, I missed your post Kittens. Y has been reformulated. I haven't smelt it but PIAM doesn't think much of the new version so I think it must be very different. Hope you're feeling better soon. You too Judy and very best of luck to your DP.

Have fun with the Guerlains, Badders .

Judydreamsofhorses · 06/10/2017 22:07

Oh, yikes, badders. I really don't want to have it extracted, I am actually missing the one in front of it, so that would just leave me the wisdom tooth. She said we could do root canal/crown if need be, but I had the matching tooth on the other side out in July after months of faffing and a failed root canal, so that doesn't fill me with confidence. I feel so ashamed at having missing teeth, although no-one can see them.

MrsMacNally · 07/10/2017 00:34

Cheap - yeah, I found a frightening number of samples, including a couple lost down the lining.

SotN has been Chinatown. I really like this - it's such an odd, quiet oriental. If Bond No.9 start turning up in TK Maxx again you must tell me....

Sorry to hear of further tooth woes Flowers

boldlygoingsomewhere · 07/10/2017 11:12

Happy birthday, Badders!Cake

Judy, sorry to hear the toothache is lingering. Hope it gets sorted soon.

I've got a bad cold today - sore throat and very stuffy nose. Haven't put any perfume on as I don't think I'll get the best out of it although it's tempting to go for a comforting familiar.

HaHaHmm · 07/10/2017 11:21

My vintage Eau Arpège has finally arrived and it is beautiful. Lots of aldehydes and powder.

I'm not usually interested in the big launches but I got an email from John Lewis the other day featuring Twilly d'Hermès and Bella Freud Psychoanalysis. Twilly looks too sweet for my taste but I'm intrigued by the notes in the Bella Freud - neroli with leather and tobacco. Has anyone sniffed it?
