Hello oh fragrant ones.
Headachey sinuses this morning so at the moment no SoTD but will probably go for some L'Heure Bleue or a Tauer once the sudafed kicks in and we've had lasagne and roasted chestnuts. Headache is entirely self-induced as I've refound my cooking mojo and made Sophie Grigson's magnificent chocolate cake yesterday (used to take it into the office in the 90s and we'd all have a massive slice and then roll round going "never again will I touch chocolate cake" sooo rich)
But yesterday I wore vintage Fidji on one hand and new Fidji on the other (or, if not new, not sure if it is still in production, definitely a newer version) Lovely, fresh, beautiful, sophisticated. Like L'Air du Temps but slightly sharper and less girly. Still both of them are lessons to today's perfumers that sweet and beautiful do not have to equate to PM.
I ordered the L'Occitane advent calendar yesterday- the ordinary one, not the posho one as dd has most of the perfumes in the posho one and I have the skincare. Did get a £10 instead of £20 giftset of the Lumiere (is it, something like that) perfume that they brought out this year which is, sadly an UPM (utterPM) It will be OK as a present for PM loving step-niece.
Kittens- if you like Champagne/Yvresse and 4160 Paris then you'll like Y. It's not a PM (and neither are they) perhaps we need a category for a WM (white minger) or a WFM (white fizzy minger)
I now want to try Magie Noir and Alliage.
Green- my favourite of the Ateliers is also the Bergamot.
OnceWas- try Perfume Parlour for dupes of Jo Malone's. No point spending Jo Malone money for a white box with a black ribbon when the scent will be gone in 20 minutes.
Judy- you poor thing- hope you get sorted soonest.
One- hope you are now on the mend
Badders- Happy Birthday! Do let us know what you buy!
Re Liberty- I didn't like it
Dd and I went quite early in the morning and there were hardly any customers, so we had the unenviable situation of me trying to show dd stuff, and just mooch around whilst being pounced upon every 2 seconds by a man with a feather duster wanting to help me. Don't shop assistants realise how many sales they actually lose by doing that? It's one thing to engage a customer in intelligent conversation about a product but the "can I help you?" (from at least 4 people) just had dd and I going "shall we go"
