Interesting, I had looked at that and dismissed it. This stuff has staying power. My inbuilt prejudice said no.

This could definitely go on the list to replace Fragile.

BluebellGal · 27/10/2017 10:50

Yes it does have great longevity and depth- it’s not quite at Fracas level but then it’s more wearable and office friendly!

MrsMacNally · 27/10/2017 10:57

Thank you Bluebell Flowers. Didn't get the mimosa at all but the orris makes lots of sense.

MrsPestilence · 27/10/2017 10:59

I have only smelt Miller Harris once. A random spray in a shop. Gone in an hour, can't even remember which perfume, it was so forgettable. I always wondered why they were still in business, now I know. [embarrassed]
3 x 9ml for £50

Blue pest A may not be what you think. Better to go back to earlier thoughts.

MrsPestilence · 27/10/2017 11:02
Halloween Blush
MrsMacNally · 27/10/2017 11:25

PestA - absolutely no idea! The start of this prompts flash-backs to Christopher Sheldrake's Perceive (which makes me wonder about the presence of freesia, pear, carnation or orchid?). The heart and base of this are much more sympathetic than Perceive though - warm rose and vanilla, sandalwood and musk? These later phases really reminds me of something else...

I'm not going to guess this one Blue so feel free to go ahead!

MrsMacNally · 27/10/2017 11:28

There's a bit more MH on it's way to you Pest Wink. Not part of blind test though...

MrsMacNally · 27/10/2017 11:38

Blue - what's the unmistakeable note you're getting?

MrsMacNally · 27/10/2017 12:06

Is it lily of the valley (I get that on the paper strip but not on my skin)? I'm getting vetiver on my skin 4 hours in. Is this a Lanvin Pest?

BluebellGal · 27/10/2017 12:51

I’m getting violets - Parma Violets and my guess for Pest A would be Kenzo Flower. I considered Yardley April Violets but it’s definitely not that as I can’t smell any lily of the valley. I’m way off aren’t I? (But I was so convinced!!)

BluebellGal · 27/10/2017 12:52

Or could it be Guerlain Insolence perhaps?

This is tres fun!

Glad to challenge your preconceptions about Miller Harris. They have some stunners but lots of forgettable ones too

BluebellGal · 27/10/2017 12:55

Yes I’m getting very strong vanilla now with Pest A and a bit of rose. The Violets has faded somewhat. I’m convinced it’s Kenzo Flower

The 4160 I was thinking of was the Tokyo cafe one but I’ve not smelt it and the notes include citrus but there’s no citrus in this

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 27/10/2017 15:15

Have purchased Gurlain's Vetiver for Dp for xmas. I really like it and i think it's going to smell amazing on him. He leaves all scent choices to me as he says i'm so good at picking them for him, he says i have great taste Smile

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 27/10/2017 15:34

Guerlain sorry for bad spelling!

MrsPestilence · 27/10/2017 16:01

Good to see you are a trusted woman Onenight , DH obviously also has excellent taste as evidenced by his delegation skills. My own DH has taken to occasionally wearing some of my stuff.

Doing well with rose, vanilla, sandalwood and musk. The clue for this one is it is old, really old. My father had this. There is also a reason it is in a bigger bottle.

MrsMacNally · 27/10/2017 16:19

And iris Pest?

MrsPestilence · 27/10/2017 16:29

No iris is owned up to MrsM
Oh and in case I was misleading, this bottle is brand spanking new, but the perfume has been around yonks (no doubt reformulated a couple of times).

MrsMacNally · 27/10/2017 16:37

Think the middle of this is a bit like Traversee du Bosphore.

Thanks for enlightening me about Fragrantica's full search functionality Pest - how did I miss that?!

MrsPestilence · 27/10/2017 16:47

You are looking for another purple flower.

MrsMacNally · 27/10/2017 17:17

Is it a Caron Pest? Royal Bain?

CountFosco · 27/10/2017 17:18

SotD Invisible Ben, a blast of orange oil initially that settles down to the sandalwood. All gone by the time I came home from work so given myself another squirt of MJ ginger blast.

MrsPestilence · 27/10/2017 17:33

Grin tip some in a bath MrsM and you will have all the confirmation you need. It is like transformers for perfumistas. Well done.

MrsMacNally · 27/10/2017 17:45

I had some very briefly but never gave it a chance to develop on my skin or tried it in the bath Blush

MrsPestilence · 27/10/2017 18:11

As a child I used to get this in the bath as an occasional treat, more likely to be lavender water or eau de cologne. I saw it about a month ago and just went OMG, I remember that.

Count glad you are enjoying the Ginger Splash. Can you detect the rhubarb in it?

BluebellGal · 27/10/2017 18:43

Aha it’s lilac in Pest A, not violets! Lots of vanilla and rose. I really like it and longevity was pretty good for a cologne (well, better than JM anyway!). Launched in 1923 and the bottle is amazing. I shall try it in a bath. Thanks Pest fab introduction to a wonderful scent.
