Well, summer barely happened so we're ready to pack away the shorts and the kaftans and get excited about boots, cosy knits and anything new and shiny.
We're often scared to link what we're lusting after for fear of lurkers buying it before we have the chance. So if you're a lurker, come and join us.
Carrying on from here

Can't believe I missed the Blingy giveaway. If either of you two ladies find the grey cashmere no good for you (light or dark) then please can I be next in line.....?

Longislandicetee · 28/08/2017 21:54

QueenC and Justa, i will get those in the post to you either later this week or early next. @justasecond can you pm me your full name and address?

Sorry Shop! I am preparing to declutter more stuff though they're likely to be clothes - I still have room in the bag cupboardsGrin. I reckon i need to lose about 50 things from my wardrobe to make it manageable again.Blush

Today's shopping....

Burberry scarff* - hence the sudden interest in getting rid of scarvesGrin

Saint Lauren striped cashmere sweaterr* - i have high hopes for this one.

Ganni leopard print topp* - i linked this before.

Chloe scalloped shoess* - the heels are block but high so might not stay!

justasecond · 28/08/2017 23:26

I have pm'ed you Blingy Smile
Love your haul, they all look like classic buys. I love the colour of the Chloe block heels, they look so good in that colour.

Forgot to say I popped into Arket the other day. I would say its somewhere between Uniqlo and Cos with the prices more on the Cos side. Plain but useful basics and looked well made for the price point. Good for the winters among us in terms of the colours. I will definitely buy a jumper or two when it gets a bit colder and the trousers looked worth a try.

queencerulean · 29/08/2017 08:19

Love the shoes blingy. And the watch you bought.
Send the scarf to shop as I was only going to use it at work (colleague loves having the window open even in the depth of winter) but if she'll wear it everyday then it'll get more use with her.

Hosting went well although I have a headache this morning! The dc are also all in bed and I wanted to get them to the shoe shop at 9....

For those of you who love a preloved bargain check out #TrinnyTribe Clothes Swap on Facebook. Lots of things being sold, a lot of it seems to be designer and much of it is BNWT.

Longislandicetee · 29/08/2017 18:01

Afternoon! NAP order arrived this morning. I luffs them. I didn't have time to check out the other things but OMG those shoes are a thing of beauty. Pure love. And quite close to a shoe-gasmic experience.Grin I wore them to work today and that was the only sensible outfit decision I made today. When I laid out my outfit yesterday the forecast was so-so. Didn't check this morning and so today has been hell. Silk dress on a boiling hot day? No thanks.Hmm

MarshaBrady · 29/08/2017 19:13

Brilliant Blingy! They are a thing of beauty indeed. Love your other NAP shopping too. Well done for keeping the thread on pre AW trend Grin

Longislandicetee · 29/08/2017 19:57

Marsha, ha! You know I have never ever been trendy!Shock. That's for other people!!

But they are new season! Okay the shoes and sweater are.

Mara I arrived back from hols to find my neighbour who collected my package is now on holiday.🤣

TheMightyMing · 29/08/2017 20:37

I'm desperately trying to avoid buying anything. My PFB and only son is off to uni in a few weeks and I've an eye watering acommosation bill to pay going forward!

That said I've just had a delivery from e bay ( Whistles leopard print small clutch, new with tags and lovely). Last months purchases included a Baukjen wrap leather skirt and JIgsaw long line black jacket ( to wear with leather trousers and heels for winter nights out) both e bay purchases new with tags plus a pair of Jigsaw Cara boots ( £44 in the sale- I just couldn't leave them in the shop)

I honestly don't need anymore clothes but then I come on here and .....

Everyonelovessparkles · 29/08/2017 21:44

Just popping into say hello.

Lovely shoes blingy , glad they were comfortable. Good luck with the decluttering! Glad you had a nice holiday.

Hope your party went ok queenc. Shame about your recent buys not being keepers.

Enjoy your holiday fedup. The Chloe-esque shoes I saw were carvela but they must have been old stock as they aren't on the website any more. I wonder if they will do them again for this A/W?

No fashion news here. I ordered a Missoni dress and DVF top from the outnet for A/W but both are going back. The slip in the dress annoyed me And the blouse was too big. Enjoying this lovely weather though 😎. Looking forward to seeing some of you next week at lib's drinks.

queencerulean · 29/08/2017 21:58

I'm jealous it's been hot with you blingy. It's been autumnal here again. Glad the shoes are keepers. Did you see me saying to send the scarf to shop?

DryWhiteagainW · 29/08/2017 23:45

Good grief the thread disappeared from "I'm on" Shock thought I'd lost you!

Ming my DS is off to uni too ..... Great shopping opp, like setting up home again only a whole lot cheaper!

Have had guests all weekend .....I need a detox.

Some nice stuff coming in the shops. looking forward to Autumn clothes.

Longislandicetee · 29/08/2017 23:51

I feel your pain MingGrin hello by the way! Do you have any links for your clutch or skirt? I remember when Dry bought her Jaeger leather skirt - it was just so fab.

QueenC yup got that - send to Shop and Justa

Everyone it looks like I might miss the MU. Boo!

Longislandicetee · 30/08/2017 00:07

My decluttering continues....

Precis Petite ivory jacket size 6. Worn a few times.

The following is all new:

Issa dress in xs.

H&M skirt size 6.

J crew dress in size 0.

Halston Heritage dress in xs (I think!).

TheMightyMing · 30/08/2017 08:21

How do you do links ?

I'm heartbroken re my DS going off to uni - I'm going to have to find solace in something , I'm thinking more gym as that doesn't cost Grin

queencerulean · 30/08/2017 10:16

My battery is about to die but just pooing in to wail that it's pissing down. I wanted to day the dc out for a walk as I need some exercise but it's utterly hideous out there.
blingy can't believe you have all that new stuff never worn!
Hi ming. Are you a newbie on here or have we met before under another name? It must be odd having dc leave for uni, my dm was pretty bereft when I went. I've got a few years to go until mine leave especially the youngest.

libertyonhertravels · 30/08/2017 10:41

I know QueenC it's miserable here too. The packers are in my house and I have retreated to a local cafe to work.

Blingy can you pack a few lbs on please so I have a chance when you next declutter? Grin. Great new season buys, the shoes are great and I really love the leopard print shirt. I predict you will wear it loads like the leopard Warehouse sweater that I still regret not buying.

shopafrolic · 30/08/2017 10:50

Yeah I'm with Lib Blingy - stop being so damn tiny Grin
Foul here too. DS is on Xbox and I'm wandering around the house mentally redecorating every room.
Welcome Ming or have you NCed?
I think I might be over the school holidays now - quite looking forward to next week I have to be honest!

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 30/08/2017 11:14

Welcome Ming :) links are done like this: a b where a is the copied & pasted web address and b is whatever you want the link to show as. Remove the space before a as well.

The MU has come around quickly! What to wear? Looking forward to meeting you at last everyone :)

Feeling uninspired shopping wise atm. What does everyone think the main trends this AW will be? (What people are actually wearing, not what bloggers are pushing!)

TheMightyMing · 30/08/2017 11:50

I'm new to this thread but a frequent poster / lurker on the S and B pages. Just checking is this thread more 'designer' advice I'd say my style ( and budget) are more 'high end high street' and I don't want to lower the tone Grin

Longislandicetee · 30/08/2017 11:53

I really feel for you Ming. I am 10 years away from that but I can already imagine I will be bereft. Lots of things on here to distract you.

Lib yeah, almost there!

Ha at your comments! Ironic as I am now trying to shift the post surgery pounds that have accumulated around my arse and tum.

QueenC I know! I know!Blush I can imagine some lurkers clutching their pearls! I bought them, liked them, kept them and then changed mind. Blush

But on my latest purchases...

The leopard print top is lovely on. Was a bit worried when I tried it on as it's a bit loud for me. Lib you're right, that warehouse top is still one of my favourites and gets worn a lot.

The Saint Laurent sweater looks lovely on and I am still smiling about my shoes. You can't go wrong much with a Burberry scarfGrin

Shop mine are back on Monday, so now frantic few days doing the summer homework and dreading the 5.50am alarm on Monday morning.

DryWhiteagainW · 30/08/2017 12:25

Shop I agree, I need to get back into a routine although the early mornings will hurt and Christmas will come sooooo quickly Grin

Ming we can sob together. DS goes 16th although I'm excited for him, he's ready to go. Just doing yet another uni shopping trip you'd think there are no shops where he's going!!

shopafrolic · 30/08/2017 12:57

Ming all sorts of budgets welcome here - I think I sit firmly in the higher end high street camp with designer aspirations so you'll be just fine but everything from Primark to Armani happens on this thread. That's the beauty of it.
In my head I am constantly drinking champagne clad in designer clothes - the reality is very different Grin

queencerulean · 30/08/2017 13:04

ming I'm a high st girl.
I'm also ready for back to school to have a routine. Also to exercise properly!
blair apparently red is the colour for a/w but looking online and irl I haven't seen much of it. Lots of berry/damson type colour which is great for me. Flounces and frills still seem to be around with those big impractical trumpet sleeves.
Gutted I can't make the mu but will plan my outfit with you anyway as I'll be in London. Will probably bump into people on regent st! Will wear the GD top that I decided to keep as every time I open my wardrobe and see it it makes me smile.

OP posts:
libertyonhertravels · 30/08/2017 13:35

Good call on the GD top QueenC.

Re MU - I will book a table (probably just the usual) in next day or two. I have been rather distracted for the past week.

Ming good to have you here - as the others say there is a real mix here - probably converges around the high end of high street but we all love a good Uniqlo find and no one will hoick on their judgy pants if you decide to indulge in an impractical expensive bag or 'car to bar' only shoes as long as they are beautiful.

Trends this AW - having a look around today the silhouette has definitely shifted away from skinnies to more relaxed jeans and with them more fitted jackets/blazers. All the trendy young things around my way are wearing grey jeans, big earrings, slogan t-shirts, utility jackets and flat shoes/trainers. At work separates (pencil skirt or cigarette trousers with a shirt or blouse and a good belt) seem to be coming back in after years of dresses.
