Well, summer barely happened so we're ready to pack away the shorts and the kaftans and get excited about boots, cosy knits and anything new and shiny.
We're often scared to link what we're lusting after for fear of lurkers buying it before we have the chance. So if you're a lurker, come and join us.
Carrying on from here

Good buys Justa - so nice when that elusive bargain turns up.

I think I'm going to go on a Regent St mission to check out Arket and &OS next week - have 3 days with kids at school before I start work .... eek.

I just got very frustrated at The Outnet - their search engine is appalling. I'm trying to filter floral dresses by adding midi, sleeved, size and each time I stick a filter on it adds moer dresses ratherr than taking away all the sleeveless mini dresses that i have no interest in. I'm giving up.

I bought a Sea Folly Kaftan two years ago Kitty and love it.

Enjoy Dalston QueenC, it is quite near Shhoreditch but a bit more edgy, lots of warehouses, pop-ups, boys with beards and girls with plaits - makes me feel ancient!

shopafrolic · 01/09/2017 08:40

Amazing EBay find Justa
Stokey 3 days with no kids sounds blissful - I am at my wits end here. Totally lost my sh1t yesterday morning at DS - not cool. Enjoy Regent's Street.
Eye test tomorrow so new glasses will be needed. Always hard to choose.
I watched Trinny's FB live from Arket yesterday - it looks pretty good and she found some nice bits but when I tried to search for them on their website it was impossible - worst search function I have ever seen - very frustrating.
Sunny here today - off to the park with DS to meet one of his buddies. Hopefully they'll play football while I can chat with the mum.

libertyonhertravels · 01/09/2017 15:13

Quickly popping in to say hi. Will check links later. My house is packed up and am now living out of one bag! Has been a hectic week.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 01/09/2017 15:46

Wow Lib, it's all happening! Had been wondering how you'd been getting on :)

BerniceBobsHerHair · 01/09/2017 16:15

You guys have been chatty recently. Its nice to hear about your AW purchases or planned purchases. Great bargain Justa and I think those bee trainers are really cool Mara. I like your description of your home city, I think I know where you mean.

Shop hope you have had a good day with so has DS with his friend. Not too long until school starts again! I have been to DR, they have good sales.

Wow Lib - not long to go

Hope you are enjoying your holiday Kitty Envy

One how annoying about your previous team but sounds like you are in good hands now.

I used to live in Dalston a long time ago, before the hipsters claimed it and it was sooo much better then. More of a mixed community and quirky places (rather than hipster quirky) to go, plus great Turkish restaurants (which I think are probably still there).

I've bought a couple of things in the last dregs of the sales:
Marant blouse
Green Furla bag

That's interesting to hear about AW trends. Blingy I agree velvet always seems to get mentioned! I like red and thought these boots looked nice when I was passing through M&S - a bit high for me though. I also like the check blazers that seem to be appearing everywhere. I also need to update my jeans and get some wide / loose pairs, I like that style.

But - and to answer Blair's question - it is not very fashion forward where I live. I like going to London as everyone looks so stylish and I sound so parochial. I've seen a few mums at groups who look good, but mainly in a trendy 'mum uniform' style ifyswim. And a woman at work who always looks good.

I'm still debating on the kimono - I really like it but it is more than I would like to spend as I don't think I will wear it loads. I am thinking I would just wear it casually with jeans and trainers. If anyone see similar for less, let me know.

Welcome to Mighty and Bit - stick around...

shopafrolic · 01/09/2017 17:58

Love that blouse for you Bernice - perfection.

Can I have your thoughts on Acne Pistols please ladies? A classic? Or had there day?

My other question - what colour footwear do you wear with grey jeans? Marsha I'm looking to you for this one........

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 01/09/2017 18:24

A classic I think Shop!

Just bought some grey jeans, need to get them hemmed, but I will wear them with black chelsea boots and my stans I think. My pistols are tan so would have to see how they looked.

Dreamqueen · 01/09/2017 18:28

I love that bag Bernice Years ago I had a beautiful DKNY bag of the same colour & I regret giving it away even now.

Shop as a recent convert to pistols, I love them. Theyve opened my eyes to the joy of ankle boots. I wish I could buy different colours.

shopafrolic · 01/09/2017 19:51

DH has just bought me a fab IM studded belt. here to replace an old Karen Millen one which I have worn to death.
He has said he'll get me ankle boots for my birthday to replace my Pistols. I'm unsure whether to go same again or get something different.

shopafrolic · 01/09/2017 19:51

I quite fancy Acne Jensens too....

justasecond · 01/09/2017 22:56

I can see you in the Acne Jensens shop very you. I wonder if they are as comfortable as the pistols with the pointiness?

justasecond · 01/09/2017 23:02

Love that blouse Bernice a good find and the bag is a gorgeous colour.
I saw the Trinny FB thing too, she walked past the jumper I bought without noticing it Blush She's so right about their music though. They were playing screechy vintage bollywood when I was in, I couldn't hold a thought in my head!

AmberNectarine · 02/09/2017 07:39

Hello all!

I've been off on my travels but back in the UK now so feel able to fully rejoin the thread!

Have been doing a bit of A/W purchasing so I have links....

Blazer
Jeans
Sweater
Another sweater
Earrings (please note red AND velvet - on point as per)
Round bag

Then last week I stumbled upon the Parisian equivalent of Bicester and spotted these, so home they came with me...!

So, I've been keeping busy, anyway 😄. Also bought a shedload at Sephora but cba to link.

The other thing I've bought is a new car, but that's less exciting.

Anyway, love to you all, mustn't dawdle as I'm off to buy a bag this morning (oh yes) and Selfridges opens at 9.30am! Will report back later

queencerulean · 02/09/2017 08:25

Ooh, look forward to seeing which bag you choose amber
bernice love that IM blouse, shop love the belt too.

I think pistols are a classic but maybe look a bit dated. The Jansens look more edgy for you shop. Wrt grey jeans I would have thought you can wear any colour shoes? Black may look a bit heavy if they're really pale grey. Do your white boots go? Or how about the pink?

Looking forward to going to arket next weekend although the reviews I read on the other thread are mixed. I have a feeling that it won't be my kind of shop at all though.

AmberNectarine · 02/09/2017 08:45

I'm over my pistols now. Jensen or Toga Pulla.

shopafrolic · 02/09/2017 09:03

Thanks for the Pistol thoughts ladies, will have to go somewhere to try the Jensens I think. Not sure how big they'll make my already huge feet look.........
Off to Milton Keynes today to test drive a new car for DH (convertible mid life crisis car) and then for eye test and new glasses. I can't believe how early it is getting dark already - starting to feel like Autumn. I'm hoping for more warm weather through September, not quite ready to give in yet (although I do love boots and knitwear).
Have a lovely day Voguettes.

Longislandicetee · 02/09/2017 11:17

Morning all! Some lovely links.

Love Bernice's furla bag and Shop's belt and those Choos Amber

AmberNectarine · 02/09/2017 17:51

I'm back. Acquired this and this. Also picked up some diamond studs for DH to give me as an anniversary present because I'm helpful like that.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 02/09/2017 18:25

That's the same belt as me! You won't regret it, it goes with literally everything and is subtle enough for work. Love the bag too. Sounds like a productive day Grin

Longislandicetee · 02/09/2017 18:58

Ah i thought i had seen the belt before!! Love it.

Love the bag too. I really want one. EnvyI bought one for dsis as a present and now feel i can't get it for myself as it's a bit too copy-cat. I am probably being silly!!

Longislandicetee · 02/09/2017 19:01

I bought a new coat today.

shopafrolic · 02/09/2017 19:02

Love the bag - I'd love one too. Saw lots of holiday - such a useful size.
Productive day here. I have new glasses - Prada frames - much bigger than before (seems to be the fashion this year). We also took a new car for a test drive - DH's mid life crisis car, he's negotiating on price now.

AmberNectarine · 02/09/2017 19:13

Get the Daniel Vernis blingy or a different lining.

Blair you were my inspiration!

maradesbois · 02/09/2017 20:31

Evening,

justa, love the trench, what a find! Yes, outnet blazer was the marant étoile. Regret it as I love her tailoring and the shape was so on trend for this season (and at half the price of the current collection). Really like the zara one you got Amber and the earrings. Zara does some fab jewellery these days, my friend has some black dangly ones I mistook for Gucci.

Saw that the Matches family have sold to a private equity fund. Makes sense for them of course but wonder how it will affect the personal touch that they managed to retain unlike the nap/yoox behemoth.

Did anyone hear Alexandra Shulman interviewed on the today programme this week? Was ostensibly to talk about changes in fashion since the postwar period but JH was so rude and dismissive with predictable comments about size zero debate and the 'cosy' Hmm shape of non-model females. Good job AS can hold her own.

Was in town this afternoon so popped into Arket to see what all the fuss was about. Quite liked the general aesthetic, prefer the fabrics to Cos. Not cheap though although am often shocked by high st prices. Didn't buy anything for me, just a lightweight waterproof jacket for ds for school that still cost £44 after 20% discount. So cheaper than petit bateau but still quite ££ and no idea yet about the quality. The kids stuff looked really good generally though.

Shop think you would like it for your ds too. Btw definitely jensens or more that style, don't think pistols are sharp enough for you.

Blingy lovely jacket, so you!

maradesbois · 02/09/2017 20:33

Oh and Bernice forgot to say love your sale buys too, furla bag is a lovely colour.
