Thoughts?

I know a lot of people think hush is overpriced tat, but this thread is for those of us that still buy the odd thing.

I've had a brief look & like the look of the Christie coat & Cassie dress. Last year I got a dress in the same style of this years clover dress, which I love.

However, the prints this year are awful.

My order arrived today. Sadly I don't love the lightning bolt jumper as much as I had been hoping and the Mona Devore skirt is beautiful but doesn't flatter me at all. Booooooo - might keep the jeans still swithering

GinandGingerBeer · 26/10/2017 22:34

I’m an S in the Tara and a 10 in the baujken Chloe.

chloechloe · 27/10/2017 05:38

Thanks gin!

neveradullmoment99 · 27/10/2017 06:29

chloechloe It is actually fairly true to size. Mine is a 12 and my skirt is a 12. It is fully lined. I would buy your size. I am pear shaped though, so do take it up at the hips. It's a lovely skirt. I have worn it a number of times. Its a lovely gentle A-line and a really great length.

neveradullmoment99 · 27/10/2017 06:31

Theonly Is the devore skirt pretty short? Is it quite a 'young' look. It looks gorgeous but just might be a little too 'girly' for me. Wish it didn't have so many gathers.

neveradullmoment99 · 27/10/2017 06:33

Wow...this thread has reached is going to reach its limit soonish. Should we start a new one???? Grin

Theonlyoneiknow · 27/10/2017 08:27

I'm 5'1" and the Devore skirt wasn't that short on me neveradullmoment99, more a bit above the knee than mid thigh. I'm 45 and wouldn't have said it was an age specific skirt IYSWIM! The stars were lovely and velvet, it is a lovely skirt but did me no favours whatsoever! It just made my hips look huge :( Pity as would have been very versatile. Also ordered the isla skirt from the sale, and it was also really unflattering on me :(

neveradullmoment99 · 27/10/2017 09:05

Thanks. I am 49 and 5ft 5 but it does look beautiful. I am pear shaped so probably would have the same issue as you!

chloechloe · 27/10/2017 11:10

Thanks neveradullmoment. Think I'll order it, though I'll probably only wear it when I go back to work on the new year.

Given the amount of Hush stuff we're still ordering I think we need a new thread!

Bloomed · 27/10/2017 18:15

Has anyone seen the lurex bomber from the new collection in real life? I need a smart casual jacket and have found nothing in zara recently, which is my usual blazer source. I'm wearing the Tara dress and the harems all the time. Dithering about the bomber, wrap shirt and Tara polo dress atm.

ilovecherries · 27/10/2017 18:21

I have a parcel on its way :). Reversible lightning bolt. Feel I'm probably really too old for it, even though Bowie belonged to my generation (in my mind, anyway!). Plus the c'est sI bon sweatshirt (ditto!), and the Hayden joggers.

FizzPopping · 27/10/2017 20:08

I think there were some comments before about the pyjamas but I'm struggling to find them - I'm thinking of hinting to DH for a pair for Christmas. Has anyone got the Refuge flannel set? Also are the jersey pyjamas worth the money?

RubbishMantra · 27/10/2017 20:21

Oh we do need a new thread. It's like a support thread. One where we enable as well as support. Grin

Think I won't get my magic box of wonder until Monday...

chloechloe · 27/10/2017 22:03

fizz I have a jersey nightie and bed shorts and love them - the jersey is lovely and thick and washes really well. I'm going to order the jersey PJs in the current collection in the hope they'll be similar material.

FizzPopping · 28/10/2017 09:32

chloe thanks that's good to know, I'll get dropping hints!

ilovecherries · 28/10/2017 11:49

Well, the Hayden joggers are a bit crap - whoever heard of joggers with no pockets? I'm very tempted to keep both the c'est si bon sweat and the reversible lightning bolt, even though I probably am too old for them. They are lovely and I'm trying hard to embrace the 'I don't give a fuck' approach to ageing.

neveradullmoment99 · 28/10/2017 12:02

'I don't give a fuck' about ageing

Me too. Am 50 soon ,. Do i dress like a 50 year old??? Noooooo I hope not.
What does a 50 year old dress like anyway???? I still have good legs [ They are my asset]
Today I have on biker boots, My Ivy dress over my Hush skinny jeans and my parka on. Not bad for a 50 year old or soon to be
Well I ordered the bag with the star on. Waited to see if it would come back into stock in black so purchased it. Also ordered the florence snake skin effect skirt. Will come on Monday. Early birthday present to myself!!!!!

Theonlyoneiknow · 28/10/2017 12:10

Agree - dress how the flip you want to! Think I will keep the boyfriend jeans they are super soft .......

chloechloe · 28/10/2017 12:21

Dress how you like cherries! I'm sure the stuff looks great on you!

Wore my grey/red love jumper yesterday and this morning and the threads are coming loose already! Am going to complain as it's really not on, especially in view of the price.

mowglik · 28/10/2017 12:28

cessie the skirt is really so wearable, it’s light and squishy and goes with anything. I have worn it 3 times since buying it (I have other skirts, honest)

Wore the wool Ashley trousers to a circus last night and felt very toasty warm around the legs for once. May get it in blue as well

Looking for a couple of nice jumpers now but sounds like the quality of hush jumpers aren’t up to scratch? I like the look of the star one though - think I’ll try on in JL again save me doing returns!

neveradullmoment99 · 28/10/2017 12:45

mowglik Will you chance the Ashley trousers on a wool wash or dry clean???

chloechloe · 28/10/2017 12:46

mowglik Yes lots of the jumpers aren't up to scratch IMO, but it really depends on the item.

I have 2 of the thicker crew jumpers which are covered in bobbles and another that is relegated to slobbing round the house wear. Kondo would weep if she saw me!

I have a star jumper from a few seasons ago that has worn well though and a few of the lighter summer jumpers that are still
nice.

neveradullmoment99 · 28/10/2017 12:53

The cashmere is good. I wore mine carefully last year and washed and packed away. I used cashmere washing liquid and it looks as good as new. Not really bobbled. I have an everday crew neck that also looks like a rag. I suppose it depends on the knitwear.

neveradullmoment99 · 28/10/2017 12:55

I have two cashmere cardigans from next. Absolutely lovely quality and fairly thick. They are getting a bit jaded looking [with over wear] so tend now to wear them around the house unless i am freezing at work and then i will wash and wear. However the quality really surprised me. They were an absolute bargain at £60 each in their sale a few years back.

mowglik · 28/10/2017 13:01

never I think I’ll see how long I can go without washing the Ashley trousers but will try it on a wool wash, can’t be doing with dry cleaning.

Having said that I washed a hush jumper that was dry clean only and it ended up with yellow streaks on the arms so I only wear it when out shopping etc and won’t take my jacket off . Will update here after I wash the trousers

Chloe it’s a problem that crops up every winter that never gets solved - who does quality jumpers in flattering cuts that won’t bobble or look like crap after a few washes. Lost my faith in mint velvet after a few disasters. All saints jumpers are great quality but too much batwing atm.

May try a few John Lewis/M&S jobs this year though I find the shapes not very flattering or trendy
