Thoughts?

I know a lot of people think hush is overpriced tat, but this thread is for those of us that still buy the odd thing.

I've had a brief look & like the look of the Christie coat & Cassie dress. Last year I got a dress in the same style of this years clover dress, which I love.

However, the prints this year are awful.

I tried on this one in Peter Jones today, which is beautiful, flattering LONG (I am 5'10, came to lower calf) and TTS. Also this one which is dynamite just so gorgeous but tiny - I sized up from my usual 12 to a 16 to get a nice drapey fit - and LONG LONG LONG. Nearly floor length on me which is great news for me but not so much for shorter people. I fell deeply in love with both as they are unique pieces I don't think you would find anywhere else. Also didn't try on but was struck by this jacket which is lovely quality and much nicer looking irl. You're welcome!

Swimminguphill · 16/08/2017 19:57

The Yasmin dress is much flashier and more statementy than in the picks, a real look at me dress, but in a good way. By floor length I mean about 3mm from floor including my flat shoes....

Nearlyadoctor · 16/08/2017 20:05

Captain the Tara dress is fab, I have two winter and two summer versions and don't find any of them ride up. It's actually very versatile and IMO Hush at its best!

captainfunderpants · 16/08/2017 20:16

Thanks Nearlyadoctor you've persuaded me! Think I'll go for the green...did a lot of black in my bigger days (have gone from 16 stone post-second pregnancy to 9.5 now) and am trying to be more adventurous!

I also bought the black jacket that was on Mumsnet Recommends a while back and it's fab. Really great with skinny jeans and a t-shirt, also good for being a bit smarter.

Nearlyadoctor · 16/08/2017 21:02

I bought the green last year Captain actually prefer this years green but no point having two so similar. If you like the style I also love the Tina dress although doesn't wear as well but slightly longer skirt and more wintery

Imamouseduh · 16/08/2017 21:26

Haven't read the thread but the leather jacket has gone up in price by £15! Cheeky fuckers.

neveradullmoment99 · 16/08/2017 21:42

I have the Ivy dress from last year and wear it constantly. It is too short for me to wear as a dress [ not sure if they have made it longer this year]. I normally wear it over skinny jeans. I love it. I have ordered both the shirt dress and the ivy dress in burgundy as i dont like the green. Its reminds me of the scout uniform green which puts me off if its anything like last years. Annoyed as i didnt know there was a code. Anway, will post with an update on how the fit is etc.

neveradullmoment99 · 16/08/2017 21:45

I quite like this collection. Not sure i like the model as she makes the clothes look dumpy. They look way too big for her. Maybe its a good thing as realistically i never looked anything like the models did as they were so slim. However from a selling point of view, it appeals less to me seeing them look oversized on her. Some of the lengths and the shoes she wears make the outfit frumpy.

neveradullmoment99 · 17/08/2017 10:09

Well both the shirt dress[ one with the little stars as stripes] and the Ivy dress came and i love both. Bought the 12 and the 10 of the shirt dress and i am a good 12 and the 10 was a perfect fit for me. I ordered a small in the ivy dress and it is perfect Think the length is a tiny bit longer [ unless my original one from last year has shrunk through repeated washes] Keeping both. Lovely.

neveradullmoment99 · 17/08/2017 10:10

Now i need to hide my bank card because i do love lots on the Hush website atm!

captainfunderpants · 17/08/2017 12:37

NearlyaDoctor thanks, yes the Tina is also lovely! I'm thinking of going for one or the other of those dresses, and maybe the ruched skirt. The dresses are so similar I'm not sure I can justify both.

Nearlyadoctor · 17/08/2017 13:02

I think I may order the Ivy dress- not a style I've had before, and also another sloppy joe probably in brick this time. I love the lighting bolt T but having bought the heart one for the summer and it lost its shape after one wash, I don't think I'll risk another t shirt !

SapphireStrange · 17/08/2017 13:05

Does anyone have anything to report on the Ashley trousers? I think they look quite nice, but am wary about that style of trouser just looking too loungey/scruffy (I'd like to be able to wear them in public).

Laska5772 · 17/08/2017 13:09

Ive gone for the Cassie dress in blue.. I thought the SS collection was overpriced , but this season the jersey does seem pretty good. nothing really 'new' looking though I think

Laska5772 · 17/08/2017 13:13

Although I do like this colourblock jumper but £110? Shock

SapphireStrange · 17/08/2017 13:21

Laska, I agree, and it's half nylon too. Hmm

MerricatsHouse · 17/08/2017 13:36

I've ordered the green Ivy dress (love the oversized cut and the fact it has pockets!), the wide jersey top in both grey and black as I find it hard to come by proper long length tops these days. Also the Sloppy Joe in the yellow, not sure I will pull off the colour but I love it so have to try.

Has anyone tried the Amie joggers? They look really nice but I don't know if I can justify the price as they would be predominantly for lounging.

jennymac · 17/08/2017 13:48

I have ordered the green Tara dress. Just waiting for it to arrive...

MumBod · 17/08/2017 13:52

I've bought an absolute shitload of stuff with the intention of sending about half back. I just get sick of stuff selling out before I get round to ordering.

It should arrive today so I'll report my findings if you like?

MartinRohdesBellybuttonFluff · 17/08/2017 13:52

Yes please do!

fivefour3twoone · 17/08/2017 13:53

Ooh Yes please MumBod - what did you order??

onemouseplace · 17/08/2017 13:59

I really like the new model, she's the same height as me which really helps getting an idea where things, especially tops, will actually end.

Laska5772 · 17/08/2017 14:25

Ive gone for the Cassie in grey also.. Too right about things selling out but you can get lucky with returns sometimes .. I think the blue cassie ive ordered will be too big and its showing 4 -5 weeks in what I think will be my size,. ( but will keep an eye out for returns JIC) .
Remember John Lewis ( but then they dont have the 10% and free pp right now.. )

MumBod · 17/08/2017 14:31

So much.

So, so much Blush

The big Love jumper in two colours so I can choose which to keep (if any).
The burgundy flash tshirt - I have it in green but it's a bit big so I wanted a more fitted one.
That maxi shirt dress - but I reckon it'll be too long.
A longline white vest. Will keep that as I have one that's years old and it's brilliant.
Sabrina midi dress.
Florence skirt
Wide jersey top
Sabrina cardi

Like I said - I won't be keeping it all Blush

Laska5772 · 17/08/2017 14:36

merricats green Ivy does look nice.. Did you size down? i was thinking I might..
