Was just googling "petite maxi skirt" (seems to be a rarity) and Pilot came up as an option. Remember pilot?! Didn't know it was still going. Which then reminded me of similar store Bay Trading which I used to love as a teen. And etam!

Any others you lot remember?

Oh and if you know any good places to get a petite maxi skirt for a wedding do let me know, I'm really struggling here.

Ijustwannadance- quarters! I'm sure my friend said it has re-opened, I loved it in there. I used to love Wade Smith so much, I worked for the council in my early twenties and remember getting my first wages and going in and getting a DKNY handbag which i used until it fell apart!

Oh my god I've just remembered something- not a clothes shop but a burger bar and I'm pretty sure it was where the Lush shop/Holland and Barrett is now ( assuming you're still in Liverpool?)
And it had red? Plastic tables and chairs and meal deals like burger/chips and drink for £2, i have the word "Harvey's" in my head but I don't think it's that now.

Do you remember it? That will bug me all night...

Chelsea girl is now RI and I loved Tammy

ijustwannadance · 27/07/2017 08:34

Zoflora, don't remember the burger bar but it's probably because it isn't somewhere I would've gone.

I live on the Wirral.

I bought a designer dress from Wade Smith. Tight fitting faded denim with a halter neck and fishtail back. I thought I looked bloody amazing in it! Cost £45 in the sale.

Zoflorabore · 27/07/2017 08:39

Sorry I should have said that the burger bar was there when I was around 13/14 so early nineties.
I used to go to nicer places in my twentiesGrin

woodhill · 27/07/2017 09:06

Marvellousmarg · 27/07/2017 14:58

That's right sunbeam. All in Glasgow before the days of designer threads😄

AgentProvocateur · 27/07/2017 17:35

Sunbeam and Marvellous - same city, same era. Do you remember Flip?

Dowser · 27/07/2017 17:48

Gosh when did principles go?
Jane Norman?
Bay trading?

If they weren't in our town ( and they weren't) it hasn't happened!

Notreallyhappy · 27/07/2017 19:00

At the minute all of them.. there's nothing about this year.

Sunbeam18 · 27/07/2017 19:20

BikeRunSki · 27/07/2017 20:03

BikeRunSki · 27/07/2017 20:04

Phip, not Philp

It was a copycat shop on King's Rd, although had originally been another branch of Flip.

There was a Peter Lord in The Murraygate in Dundee. I used to get school shoes there.
Also Trueform shoes. Are they defunct now too?

Dancergirl · 27/07/2017 22:55

Marvellousmarg · 27/07/2017 23:03

God yeah agent I remember Flip. It was in Queen St, massive place, I remember the smell! It was full of American clothes.

Got myself some checked shirts and a cool baseball jaikit😀

OlennasWimple · 27/07/2017 23:13

Nine West (and The Pier) are still open for business in the US

I miss Knickerbox.

Kaliko was great for work clothes, and when I was little I always envisioned wearing a Planet dress when I was Mother of the Bride Blush

Ladybird children's clothes are still available online

Zoflorabore · 27/07/2017 23:20

Stationery box!! On Lord street, Liverpool.

THE place to go for back to school supplies

CotswoldStrife · 27/07/2017 23:46

Ah, happy memories of shopping in Liverpool - I have been reading this thread and hoping someone would mention Solitaire as I couldn't remember the name of the place! Before it got burnt out moved to the Precinct you frequently had to queue to get into it. When you were going round, there was someone with a microphone trying to restock so there would be a constant background of mumble 2 10's etc.

Also remember Now (had a bag from there that I loved), Kumars, and lots of the other Liverpool shops mentioned. I have a vague recollection of Lady at St John but I don't think we ever went in there!

Chelsea Girl - loved it! Or for posh stuff when small, Nanettes!

CotswoldStrife · 27/07/2017 23:52

I remember the smell of Flip ... used to go for a look round but never bought anything from there.

Used to go to Culpepers in the Mathew Street shopping centre when that was built. I am ancient though, I remember the market in St John's precinct being damaged by fire and we had to buy our clothes from the stalls set up in a car park!

For the truly ancient, I remember not only Blacklers and the other department stores in the City Centre ( Lewis's, Binns, Owen Owen, BHS, C&A, Littlewoods) but also Frosts in Walton (ask your grandparents!) Grin

Whenever I went into GHL I was always in the wrong building for whatever I wanted. Never quite got the hang of that place.

Sunbeam18 · 28/07/2017 00:19

Remember Flip in Glasgow smell too - the smell of mothballs and 400 pairs of unwashed jeans Grin. The downstairs bit was fab too, fur coats.

Remember Saxone?!

minifingerz · 28/07/2017 00:24

Has anyone mentioned Fiorucci?
