I am down to one item left on my first 13 for Halloween list. This one is mainly small single samples and various multiples of small samples so it's not been exactly a massive undertaking but it has cut down the bulk in my various bags of stuff. Once this list is done, I shall start on Halloween 2, The Sequel. Lots more samples on there and bits and bobs that are nearly finished but that I want rid of before my Look Fantastic advent calendar gets going in December

Oh....and Estee Lauder held a big event in my store last night which resulted in several off us being very late off work. The consultants gave us....yep, you guessed it.... a little goody bag as a thank you!
I have never tried Estee Lauder before and really hope I don't get hooked..... 😊

woodhill don't get disheartened. Just use what you can and feel better soon. This is a marathon, not a sprint 😁

kwick how is the bathroom coming? Any progress to report further to the new holes in the walls?

Last day of holidays today. Have collected all the empties of the last two weeks and the amount of them is shocking. I will not bore you by listing them here just took a picture.

Have preordered the lookfantastic calendar after all. Was playing with idea of Liberty+M&S ones, but saw the look of the box of LF calendar and felt tempted. Also good for bank balance since LF+M&S together are about 60% of Liberty alone.

Wow, Strawberry, that's a brilliant collection of empties! Impressive! ☺

mintmagnummm · 22/09/2017 14:47

Wood yes serum first then you can either do oil before moisturiser or you can put the oil on top of your moisturiser providing it's not mineral oil based.

Bunny ha ha that would have been so funny! Grin. I was considering trying that light rose cream but I'm not a lover of rose smells especially rose geranium! For some reason my nose and my skin dislike like that!

kwick · 22/09/2017 18:11

Okay I swapped out a shampoo and swapped in a shower gel - but I need to be very focused to achieve this list.

My builder had contacted me to say he needs the weekend too - so I will not be moving back in this weekend as planned 😩
Was extremely tempted to have an ELF blowout at Superdrug but managed to resist.

Haha big!!! The sequel 😂
You lucky thing!!!

I am still toying with idea of starting a Beauty YouTube channel - despite being crap at applying make-up... trying to come up with a catchy name like "Beauty Beginner"....

Thanks

BigStripeyBastard · 22/09/2017 20:06

Big yes to the youtube idea, kwick. You could have a guest spot every month.....I am thinking Frugal Friday. You could cover your make up looks and bring on frugal as a special guest to show off her Lipstick Look of the Day.

You could canvass real life reviews for various products from all of us and hints and tips for decreasing your hoard...... Stash Busting Sundays?
You'd never run out of things to talk about......😊

kwick · 22/09/2017 20:49

Such good ideas big!!! THANK YOU!!!

I'm sharing because you ladies will understand!

Today in am rocking some great bright blue mascara (newly bought). Yes, 1994 called and it wants its mascara back, but I don't care!

I also spent a long time at the NYX shelves bemused by everything!

IPokeBadgers · 22/09/2017 22:30

Tablefor4 I hear you...I bought the blue babydoll mascara and haven't the balls to wear it......

Tablefor4 · 22/09/2017 22:42

Badgers that's the one! Actually I think it could be brighter - no-one at work has commented, but maybe next week with different colleagues. I was inspired by a woman on the train where the mascara caught the sunshine. Go on - do it!

IPokeBadgers · 22/09/2017 22:56

Will have to take another look at it!

ememem84 · 23/09/2017 07:58

Ooh I love a coloured mascara. I used up a plum one a while ago from Dior. Not as nice as the plum ysl one though I had last year. I know ysl do a blue one. I have brown/green eyes so not sure if blue would suit. Next time I'm in town I may swing by and see if I can get a sample.

I'll have baby with me then so deserve a post baby treat right?!

kwick · 23/09/2017 08:16

Definitely em!!!!
When are you due?

Just popping back in to say the Tesco aloe vera day cream with spf 6 that was £2 is amazingly good

kwick next Thursday... although am feeling very uncomfortable at present so hoping he arrives sooner...!! (Although not today as have stuff to do!)

kwick · 23/09/2017 10:05

How exciting em what type of birth are you planning?

OP posts:
ememem84 · 23/09/2017 10:49

A quick and painless one kwick haha! From speaking to midwives the fact both my mums labours were under 7 hours (me and my sister) it's likely that I'll be the same.

I don't have a plan as such for the birth but am not going to go all natural no drugs. Unless it's all super quick and I have no time. No one likes a hero and as far as I'm aware they don't give out prizes/medals for fully natural childbirth. As long as everyone comes out of it ok that's all I care about #practical #realistic

Have spent a fortune in boots recently on "after baby essentials" - mostly anything with the word absorbant on it #glam but have snuck in some treats for me. Lovely lavender bath foam, some sleep balm stuff, was tempted by the Chanel rouge noir nail polish but haven't done it yet. Maybe as a birthday treat to myself. (Birthday is 4 days after due date...bets on baby arriving then...?!)

Have packed up loads of samples for my hospital bag too so hopefully should be able to use some up while I'm there. Although providing everything is ok am not planning on staying in long.

suchatiredbunny · 23/09/2017 11:19

Exciting times Em I hope everything goes well for you Flowers my advice would be not to be too hard on yourself, nothing prepares you for having your first baby so take one day at a time and know that it does get better!

Tablefor4 · 23/09/2017 11:37

"Quick and painless one" - brilliant! that's the spirit Em. 🙂

I'd hold fire on posh nail polish, except may be for your toes once you can see them again, there's a lot of hand washing post-baby. But definitely lots of hand cream instead

ememem84 · 23/09/2017 12:10

One can dream table haha!!! 😂😀

I've so far avoided reading much about childbirth. I know how it happens. I know about interventions they might need. I know it's entirely possible things may not go the way I want so may end up having a c section. I'll listen to my body and the advice that's there and see how it goes. That's the best I can do.

Absolutely take one day at a time. Some advice I've been given is that it's ok to cry. It's ok to feel like I'm failing. And to know that everyone else feels the same. And also no one knows how to parent if you've never done it before!

Hand cream I have in abundance. Maybe just polish for my toes though - our flat is lovely and warm so even in the winter I tend to just wander about indoors in just feet.

Dm asked the other day what I wanted for my birthday - I gave her a list of clarins products I use and am running out of. Usually wouldn't be so grabby but I'm almost finished growing a person....

comeagainforbigfudge · 23/09/2017 12:31

Afternoon, two empties to report.
Well one empty and one chucked. Both from my list:

Body oil, name of which escapes me. Lovely scent and would repurchase but have a nuxe oil to use up next. Have kept bottle to help future purchases Grin

2nd is a Skyn eye cream from m&s calendar last year. It just looked well dodgy. Must have reached its point of no return! Tbh didnt feel it did much for me anyway

Good luck with the imminent baby arrival ememem84

ememem84 · 23/09/2017 13:31

comeagain could you just snap a pic of the bottle on your phone (assuming you have a fruit based/smart phone with camera) and save it for future reference? Reduces clutter that way.

Disclaimer - I'm all about clutter reduction at present. Except for baby stuff. I need all the things.

suchatiredbunny · 23/09/2017 13:42

You sound like you've got your head screwed on Em . I remember being at home with DS1 feeling like I'd been hit by a bus! And getting the shock of my life when the Dr appeared with forceps as I'd not given much thought to the process and had assumed they were little, like kitchen tings you might use to turn fishfingers over! Grin
But I do get broody over newborns. And one of the most magical things is sitting with a newborn on your shoulder in the dead of night, it's like the world doesn't exist and your heart will burst with love. I agree with the handcream suggestion, lots of handwashing ahead. And nipple cream is you try breastfeeding (can be used as lip balm too!)

Looking forward to the end of my Issey Miyake perfume, its on my 13 but I'm getting fed up with it. It's a useful exercise though, I've finally realised that the reason I end up with lots of body lotions is that I like the idea of the stuff but just don't use it! I have to use something bland for my legs as they get so dry, but apart from that I don't use it. So I need to not buy anymore once the ones on my list are used up.
