Finished one of my stash of "Christmas market" soaps....lovely chunky savon de marseilles soaps that I've bought in multiple fragrances....the market rolls around each year quicker than I can use them up but I love them. A new one now in the shower. Also finished a Clarins Eau des Jardins shower gel, travel size. Will repurchase in future when stash of shower gels is reduced.

BigStripeyBastard · 23/07/2017 19:42

One more of my twelve done..... Clarins Night Cream....that bloody thing has been kicking round for what feels like years! 😃
Have just opened a new and shiny Hydraquench and a 30ml travel size Clarins night cream as replacement.
Four down....eight to go!

kwick · 23/07/2017 20:53

I have another empty!

  • Lush Cupcake fresh face mask: apparently I was supposed to love the smell of this mask - but I don't. Ok but I am still searching a mask that helps suck out my blackheads.

I've finished another mini toothpaste (and my miniature toothpaste hoard is gone - I had to buy a new one!) - it's the 40th item I've finished this year!

bunnybleu · 24/07/2017 10:04

I've finished another from my 12, the Body Shop Rose body butter. Also, a Liz Earle Eyebright but I have two more in the fridge ready. I also finished a little pot of the Superskin cream but I won't get rid of the pot as they've stopped doing them (it's tubes now) and I like pots! According to the lady in JL the Superbalm is being discontinued so I've bought another small pot on eBay as I love that stuff!

woodhill · 24/07/2017 10:50

A white co small conditioner gone.

The perfumes seem to go on forever.

DragonNoodleCake · 24/07/2017 22:10

Hi kwick! Yes, I'm about, failing at not buying stuff and drowning in stuff to do but here!
How is everyone? Looks like you are all busy!
I must have been using up lots of shampoo and conditioner as I need to make an online order soon (I buy Redken in litre bottles about 6 at a time!) not bought any for 15 months!!
I've been exercising and working and drinking gin mostly - lots of gin!

DragonNoodleCake · 24/07/2017 22:11

Chuck out that lip pallet Kwick Smile

kwick · 25/07/2017 21:57

Good to hear from you dragon! It is chucked!

Am also going to donate the following to local women's shelter, all after 1 use:

  • Make me beautiful summer coral: colour ain't never gonna work on me
  • Yes to grapefruit uneven skin tone cc cream: stinks and does not sit well on skin
  • Yes to grapefruit uneven skin tone correcting serum: stinks and literally my makeup fell off my face
Hopefully all will work better in their new home!!!!

I've been slacking. Haven't been following my usual self care routine. No moisturiser at all. Eeeeek. My face feels like it may fall off.

I keep blaming the fact that I'm tired.

Last night though made sure I removed make up properly, and started a routine.

applesandpears33 · 26/07/2017 08:58

Another empty - clinique facial soap in a smaller gwp size. This was OK, but I will not repurchase.

applesandpears33 · 26/07/2017 10:20

I've kept a separate list on my phone of all the products I've used up so far this year. It averages out at about one a week. When I look at the cupboards I don't feel as though I've made any progress, but the list shows me I must be getting somewhere!

FrustratedFrugal · 26/07/2017 16:15

Back from my latest trip, 11/12 used up from my back to school list!
Latest products finished:

#10 Neutrogena Clear Face sunscreen, full size, a nice product for my neck
#11 Lumene Moisture Dream mini face wash, okay travel product

ABeaverAteMyThumb · 26/07/2017 17:54

I've finished with a full size Body Shop vitamin E night cream. It was so thick (and very nourishing).

bunnybleu · 26/07/2017 21:52

I've finished two more of my 12.....a Nivea Q10 eye cream which was ok but I wouldn't buy again, and the Liz Earle perfume. I got fed up with this in the use up phase as I don't usually wear the same fragrance day in day out. That leaves me with 3 out of the 12 to go. I'm going to take the Aveeno body spray on holiday next week so hopefully that might see that off, as both DD and I can use it and I can top up DS2 with it as he gets eczema which is likely to flare as we will be in the pool most days. Will also take his 'proper' cream with us (he gets Epaderm and Aveeno on prescription which is handy as I'm prone to eczema too!)

Had a sort out of my stash earlier, binned a couple of old make up items, put a few bits on eBay and realised I don't have as much as I thought in the stash which is good news! I'm definitely working towards a 'capsule' wardrobe in terms of make up, and also face products as I'm not working for a while and could do with not wasting money on products I really don't need. I did buy a face scrub yesterday in Wilko, their own sensitive one and it's lovely, very gentle and only £1! I don't use a scrub very often, maybe once a week, but I like a gentle scrub (can't justify the Liz Earle one even though I love it) as much skin really doesn't like the acid toner alternative! Joining this thread has helped me focus. Although I do have at least a dozen hand creams to sort through at some point.

Ollivander84 · 26/07/2017 22:17

Joining in!
Used up
Avene hydrance light moisturiser (like, would repurchase)
Dr Bronner lavender liquid soap (I have another bottle as I use it all the time)

I reckon I will finish my mac waterweight foundation in the next few weeks

kwick · 27/07/2017 17:57

Welcome olli!!!

Looks like my friend did not buy me any of the things you can only get in the US in her recent trip. 😩😩😩😩😩

DaisyRenton18 · 27/07/2017 21:47

I know I'm very late to the party, but can I please join in? This is so inspiring! I literally signed up to MN so I could join in here... Blush Sad I know, but I am so terrible with S&B clutter. I just can't throw away stuff that's perfectly useable, but not suitable for giving away.

Are you aiming for September as the deadline for 12 to shelve?

RLV13 · 27/07/2017 21:59

An empty of mine

Alpha h liquid gold

Currently on bottle 3

It is the most amazing thing for skin
Used every other night on a cotton pad swept over skin before bed

Smoother less lines even less oil it's amazing ❤️ holy grail

kwick · 28/07/2017 07:36

Welcome daisy!
12 to Shelve is for when school starts and then if you want you can join some of us doing 13 for Halloween Grin

So my friend that went to the US does not appear to have bought any of the things I asked for 😔 don't want to push it as she is going through a tough time. But now that Boots is now stocking Loreal Lash Paradise (and it is on offer) I went ahead and placed an order and I may have bought some other stuff too

Also I have finished a sample of Nars Orgasm blush - really pretty would buy full size but have a blush in my stash.

Welcome new people!

Nothing finished just yet but I organized my cosmetics cabinet in the bathroom. (It was pretty messy, stuff fell out when I opened the door). I left him only daily favorites, Everything else was stored elsewhere. I can see the difference this thread had made in my bedroom, a large drawer that used to be full of cosmetics is now half empty!

I sympathize with everybody who has a hard time resisting new purchases. This year started well but I fell off the wagon quickly and despite using up tons of stuff, I have accumulated way too many new things. I want to stop buying and I hope that it is easier now that my summer travels are over. ( for some weird reason, I prefer cosmetics and food as souvenirs).

applesandpears33 · 28/07/2017 12:01

Another empty - Joules bubble bath. DD helped with this one.

bunnybleu · 28/07/2017 15:13

Bought two travel size Ginger shampoos from the Body Shop to take away next week, plus a travel coconut and something conditioner from Superdrug.

I had a sort through to pack the toiletries to take on holiday and while I was at it I pulled together my 13 for Halloween, so they're in a basket ready to hit after the summer holidays. It seems I have a thing for lip balms, hand creams, concealers and body lotions!

I bought the Superdrug radiance cleanser and eye cream to try, but they stung my skin and made my eyes water so I took them back and got a refund. I may have weakened and ordered a Green People cleanser and moisturiser earlier, but in my defence I've sent some Elemis back to qvc as I reacted to the new night oil, so it's time I accepted that I like it more than it likes me! I will keep going with the Marine Cream though, as that does suit my skin. I unearthed a Clean and Clear wash from DDs room so am using that in the morning as I'm spot prone at the moment and it's not drying. Sold a few things on eBay as I decided I really wasn't going to use them so someone else might like them instead. My DH works abroad most of the time, but in different places each week, so he often brings me back goodies, done I keep some I don't. He's pretty good though, and is quite the expert in pink lipsticks! Grin

kwick · 28/07/2017 18:01

Do you have before and after pics frustrated? Wink

I may have gone to the Body Shop today and spent £14 on goodies

So one empty:

  • Soaper Duper zingy ginger body wash: not a fan of the scent but very mild on the skin

Also another nearly new product for the women's shelter:

  • Superdrug colour dry shampoo cocoa brownie: why oh why can't I find a dry shampoo that suits????? 😩
OP posts:
ememem84 · 28/07/2017 18:41

kwick which dry shampoos have you tried?

I'm not a fan of the Aussie one. The tresseme one is good (the spray not the mousse) and the boots own brand is ok. My preferred fave is still batiste.

frustrated my issue is when my fave brands (clarins) do their summer sale/special offers. I find it hard to resist. Dh uses it too and it's his birthday soon. He needs new stuff so am tempted to get him some while the offer is on but know this will mean travel sized stuff for me... it'll get used but it adds to the stash. Saying that it'll be travel sized so easier to store!! Haha
