haha mrsm. I too cannot stand coconut, either. SN is the only one I can stomach and even then...have to be in the mood! It has poor longevity too, which actually works in its favour for me, as if I am just smelling leftover coconut hours later I might be sick Grin

Mrsmartell08 · 02/07/2017 19:28

Lou Lou?
Guerlain l'instant?

34AQuid · 02/07/2017 19:28

I don't know what Tocade smells like, flickerty, although its on my vintage list Grin

Also have never sniffed any of the By Killian scents.

Whats your vibe? What kind of thing do you like? (fruity, spicy, floral etc).

Mrsmartell08 · 02/07/2017 19:28

Sorry that was to flick...

flickerty · 02/07/2017 19:40

Tocade was just soooo good. The closest I've smelt to it is a room fragrance by Lily flame called 'fairy dust' if you're anywhere near a John Lewis go and have a sniff!!

I really struggle to describe what my scent - vibe is, I like sweet, and floral I think.

My old favourites were flower bomb and Dior addict. I tend to wear quite heavy perfumes!

Kilian is an amazing range, DH wears intoxicated - it reminds me very slightly of Angel but in a more grown up, masculine way. Yum yum.

SOTD is fève delicious (sp?) by Dior, sweet and musky and v lingering. I got samples yesterday in Harvey Nicks v impressed with the sample bottles they're tiny miniatures of the real thing (I'm easily impressed)

flickerty · 02/07/2017 19:40

MrsMartell I've not smelt the Guerlain, that will be on my list, thank you.

Lou Lou reminds me of A levels Grin not sure I want to be taken back to that time haha

34AQuid · 02/07/2017 19:41

Oh I know Lily Flame! I had the candle of it and DD loved it so much she nicked it and had it in her bedroom (not lit!).

It was quite marshmallow-ish, no? If so...may I point you in the direction of 4160 Tuesdays New York 1955....

34AQuid · 02/07/2017 19:41

Lily Flame Fairy Dust

PerfumeIsAMessage · 02/07/2017 19:42

Tocade is gourmandy and flowery all at the same time iirc?

Had it only had the advertising oomph behind it of Angel it might be more remembered than it is.

flickerty · 02/07/2017 19:43

34 yes! Marshmellowy!! Basically, I like to smell like a dessert you can't manage to eat all of Grin. Thank you for the recommendation, I'm going to hunt that one out!!

flickerty · 02/07/2017 19:44

Perfumeisamessage exactly, I really don't know why it didn't stay on the shelves too long!

34AQuid · 02/07/2017 19:45

You can get a sample of New York 1955 from the 4160 website fairly cheaply. Its very airy marshmallow and candy floss. Not a exact dupe for Fairy Dust but in the same ballpark.

If you like Flowerbomb...have you tried BonBon? Another Viktor and Rolf fragrance? Not my thing massively, but if you like candy gourmands, its pretty nice. Also...Escada do a lot of light, airy, fruity floral gourmands.

Enjoy! Grin

34AQuid · 02/07/2017 19:46

Excuse lazy typos

flickerty · 02/07/2017 19:59

So over excited by your recommendation 34 I've just ordered samples from 4160 Grin.
I also went for pillow talk and the sexiest fragrance in the world (Blush)

Can't wait, thanks!

Mrsmartell08 · 02/07/2017 20:20

Lordy
I've won the knowing EDP too!
[Hides bank card]
😐😁

MrsCocoa · 02/07/2017 21:12

3 - Eau du Sud/Givenchy III/Ninfeo Mio.

Mrsmartell08 · 02/07/2017 21:32

Flick...have you tried angel?
It certainly divides opinion! (I think it's utterly vile) but it's very popular and very sweet....chocolate like almost
I think you may be my EFT 😀

Mrsmartell08 · 02/07/2017 21:34

My ET diamonds and emeralds arrives tomorrow! Yay!
My knowing EDP in a few days so no more need to eek out what I have left.
Violet eyes prob arriving end of the week...
I shall smell horrific amazing 😂

34AQuid · 02/07/2017 21:36

Jealous of your Violet Eyes order, mrsm! Please report back forthwith Grin

34AQuid · 02/07/2017 21:39

My sister ONLY wears Angel.

I've bought her flankers as an unimaginative gift before and she doesn't even like those. Only Angel will do.

Its an absolute fucking abomination on me. Sickly sweet Milk Tray screecher. Just ICK.

But I frequently ask my sister what she is wearing (maybe every three times I see her) as she smells so lovely and she looks at me like a complete nutter and says 'Um...Angel...obviously'.

I honestly think its one of those fragrances that truly DOES (despite what the experts say) smell different on different folk.

MrsCocoa · 02/07/2017 21:42

SotD was Paris 1948 - chalky peach and moss: pleasantly opaque. Just right for a warm early summer day.

34AQuid · 02/07/2017 21:45

MrsC...I must revisit Paris 1948. Whats it like? Have a sample buried deep somewhere, but hated it initially. That was 18 months ago when I was a certified pink minger lover, though. Perhaps things have changed? Grin

Dlpdep · 02/07/2017 21:48

So I went with O de Lancôme as my holiday purchase. The holiday perfumey shop doesn't sell Chanel, and I almost bought 24 faubourg but couldn't justify the price. I had buyer's remorse later when I went to another shop and sprayed Charnel Cristalle. I may make another purchase....

34AQuid · 02/07/2017 21:51

My sister is bringing me back Cristalle duty free, Dipdep....yeahhhh Grin

Whats O Lancome like? I'm a secret Lancome lover...

Mrsmartell08 · 02/07/2017 21:53

Dip...try yardley jade....I think it's a dead ringer for christalle!
I will report as soon as i try my new purchases , fear not!😀
I do worry about blind buys...but I've had more successes than fails up to now...
Angel actually makes me nauseous (I know people who feel the same way about youth dew...)
Luca Turin rates it, but I think it's more because it ushered in a new era of sickly nastiness 😖😀 (or gourmand if you want to be precise)
