Join us to talk all things fashion and beauty. The clocks go forward next Sunday (who's bright idea was it to organise that on Mother's Day?!). Longer days and hopefully some sunshine - we're dying to get our ankles out.
All welcome :)

I have that jacket in burgundy shop. I love it!

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 24/05/2017 20:35

Dream the jumper is TTS :) it was described as a 10 and the label says size 1. What are you going to order?

Dreamqueen · 25/05/2017 07:39

Thank you Blair I think I'll order a size 12. Trying to decide between long or short sleeved.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 25/05/2017 09:21

Ooh lol I didn't mean size, sorry! Meant which top Grin

Dreamqueen · 25/05/2017 09:46

Blair can't decide between this shortsleeved one or long sleed one.

queencerulean · 25/05/2017 16:17

Dare I say it....it's too hot Grin Grin. It's only because I'm at work. I was looking forward to it at the weekend although apparently it's going to rain Hmm.

What's everyone wearing in this heat? I think I made a mistake buying this dress. It looks fab but I hadn't considered what shoes to wear with it. Put it on today with my trusty silver sandals and it looks all kind of wrong. What colour would you put with it? I'm thinking it'll be better not to wear the dress rather than invest in another pair of sandals though.

Stokey · 25/05/2017 16:38

Have you got Gigis QueenC? They could work for a daytime look. I like the espadrilles they've paired the black with. I can see how silver may be wrong - it's a bit out there but maybe blush or similar?

Dream Kindred sweatshirts come up quite big so I'd go for 12. I've got a S (gold lips on grey) and it's a very generous 10 bordering on a 12.

Interesting about the LRP cleanser Blair. I'm using it as step 2 of hot cloth cleanse so just put it on, rub it around and then wash it off, not sure if it does anything.

Yes Justa that list is the ordinary one. My face feels a bit on the sticky side after putting everything on, no idea if I'm looking healthier though!

Great CS from Whistles, but I do resent their prices for MMF.

Weather changing this weekend (just in time for HT) so make the most of it. Thanks for the jumpsuit love, I wore it on Tuesday and got lots of compliments. I'm in a Uniqlo tube b&w striped skirt, white All Saints tee with grey leopards on & white havianas.

Marching against school cuts tomorrow so should really wear protest dungarees but fear it will be too hot!

maradesbois · 25/05/2017 20:35

I like the black dress with espadrilles too QueenC, the ones in the pic are so high but something like this would look good. Flatform sole gives a contemporary look.

Yay to the jumpsuit love Stokey, am as always full of admiration for your social conscience!

libertydoddle · 25/05/2017 21:23

Those espadrilles mara has linked look perfect QueenC.

Has a wander around Regent Street this evening. Got a dress in Cos, skirt in Warehouse and 2 tops in Benetton. Will link when on laptop.

DryWhiteagainW · 25/05/2017 21:58

Spent most of the day outside today, happy, red shoulders, felt like summer at last. I wore cotton 7/8 Banana Republic olive trousers, shell top in black from Uniqlo with snakeskin block heeled sandals.
Tomorrow I'm wearing black broderie cotton dress with the snake skin sandals, it's going to be scotchio Smile

Here's a fashion quandary :

Invited to a party to celebrate wedding of Couple we know through DH work.
Don't know if it's actual wedding day.
Don't know anyone else going.
What to wear?
I'm thinking of playing it safe with LBD and heels......you know me, always prefer to be over rather than under dressed.

In the same situation what is your go to outfit?
Just curious.

DryWhiteagainW · 25/05/2017 21:59

I could do silver heeled sandals, navy print pencil skirt, white cami top......perhaps more summery Hmm

DryWhiteagainW · 25/05/2017 22:00

QueenC agree with Mara
Liberty links ?

queencerulean · 25/05/2017 22:25

Thanks for all the suggestions. In the heat though there's no way I'd wear espadrilles-I get sweaty feet and prefer my toes out (sorry marsha). Also I think black would look harsh against the grey of the dress and my white legs. I also bought the dress in navy which actually does go with silver so I'll probably just Accept that the grey was a mistake.

Hmm, dry I'm not sure that I have a go to outfit. It always used to be black cropped trousers but I don't tend to wear them so much anymore. I'd probably wear a black dress too, the one I bought last year from warehouse.

Dreamqueen · 26/05/2017 06:16

QueenC how about wearing bright colour sandals with the grey dress. Love the dress. I like these yellow ones or these [https://www.lkbennett.com/Collections/Shoes/Sandals/Coralie-Suede-Formal-Sandals/p/SFCORALIESUEDEBlueMajorelle?gclid=CLj5xa_ljNQCFUUW0wodJGMJ6Q&nv= blue ones]] Bright colours are also trend.

I bought these after seeing them mentioned on another thread and surprisingly I love them. They are a make that gets dreision but I could be a convert. some of the styles are a def no but they have a few gems.

Thanks Stokey for the heads up on Kindred sizing. I'm going to order. II think my brother is also marching today. He's becore really active at protests and election meeting. I keep seeing him at various gatheresing on twitter waving a variety of banners.

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 26/05/2017 06:57

Good morning all

All moves in,just got to start unpacking.think i caught the sun yesterday even though i was slathered in suncream.my shoulders and cheeks feel a little sore.

House is nice enough and the people who moved in before us are friendly and helped us bring some of our stuff in which we really appreciated. Left the old place cleaner than it was when we moved in thefe so no vuilt on my part. New area seems nice enough got lots of smiles and good wishes for our new house from people that were passing by as we were unloading which i thought was really nice Smile

Stokey · 26/05/2017 07:41

I love those yellow Camper sandals Dream

There's a 15% discount code for Kindred this weekend Bankhol15, it's valid till Monday.

BerniceBobsHerHair · 26/05/2017 08:28

Congrats on your move One. New area sounds friendly.

Well done for protesting Stokey. I liked your anti ageing comment Grin. I might get something from Wear Kindred too, I like the skull jumper and the bags.

Dream I am a big fan of the fugly shoe. Can't beat a birkenstock imo.

QueenC am I right in thinking that you have some pink saltwaters? They might go well with the grey dress?

Mara welcome back! I need to look at your links, I like the buying the interview outfit before having an interview!

I have bought a load of espadrills to try (from La Redoute with their 40% off). I normally find the flat ones uncomfortable but want to give some wedge ones a go this summer.

Dry I think your second suggested outfit would be better - just more summery like you say.

queencerulean · 26/05/2017 10:22

Morning all. Feel half dead after doing boot camp in this heat.

Thanks again for the sandal suggestions. bernice I have silver salt waters which look fine with the navy dress but weird with the grey one. I don't really need new sandals but luckily the dress was only about £20 (bought it in US and it had a discount on) so cheaper not to wear it rather than buy sandals to go with it.

What's everyone up to to weekend?

libertydoddle · 26/05/2017 10:51

QueenC boot camp in this weather is hard core!! Well done.

At home all weekend, couple of friends coming around tomorrow for afternoon wine and nibbles. Other than that lots of moving related admin to do.

Very happy with my shopping yesterday. I'm wearing the Warehouse skirt today, navy, midi length A-line in lovely light cotton, with a cream boat neck broderie top from Benetton, yellow wedge Clarks sandals and tan Hobbs belt and gold earrings. Feel actually comfortable and chic at work in the heat!

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 26/05/2017 11:23

Sounds lovely Lib :)

I'm wearing a striped seersucker Uniqlo dress from last year (QueenC has it in black) with Gucci belt and Gigis.

No big weekend plans... need to MoT my car, might go to the garden centre and for some walks.

One glad to hear the move went well, hope you settle in quickly and are very happy there :)

queencerulean · 26/05/2017 13:44

I wore that yesterday blair. Still love it.

We've got friends coming down. The weather forecast keeps changing but fingers crossed it won't rain too much

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 26/05/2017 13:58

Yay QueenC. I have decided that it's very close to my perfect dress. It covers my shoulders and chest, fits me perfectly on top, and is long enough to wear to work/won't blow up in the wind. And really suits me! I have another one in cream ponte, but I wish I'd bought loads.

Dreamqueen · 26/05/2017 17:08

Good luck in your new home One

Thanks for the code Stokey

OMG QueenC at bootcamp in this weather. I salute you.

OOTD is navy Gap turn up shorts, blue & white striped boyfriend shirt. Started the day in these sandals but they've ripped my feet to shreds. Luckily I was not confident in them so had flip flops in the car.

Thats a great outfit Blair is that the dress you bought before MU last year?

Bernice I'm off to look at espadrilles on La reroute. Never thought to look at shoes on there.

FlindersKeepers · 26/05/2017 17:24

Hi, I've never posted on this thread before, so hello and I think you'll all understand. I went into Cos and tried something on for a laugh.
Suffice to say, it is now hanging up at home.
Cap-sleeved dress
It is magical. It eats kilos. Fits perfectly, yet allows for wine and cheese.
Yes, it fails the Sali Hughes sleeves requirement, but I have long arms for a shorter person and athletic shoulders, so I like cap sleeves. Doesn't appear to crush, machine washable, cotton mix.
I could see me getting years out of this one. Chuffed (but also stunned. It looked utter mince on the hanger.)

libertydoddle · 26/05/2017 17:40

Welcome Flinders and well done on your Cos discovery! Love the idea of a dress that eats kilos Grin
