So I've always wanted to ' brighten ' my downstairs but I would like some recommendations please

I've looked online and the products range from £10-£100
I know you get what you pay for but obviously want to be careful what I'm putting on my bits lol

Thanks

Gwennie Paltrow steams her vag

Can you imagine the reaction if it wasn't Gywenth Paltrow saying that but Gywenth who works down the Spar? You'd be backing away slowly and shopping elsewhere Wink

oliviaoatcake · 07/03/2017 23:41

This thread is fantastic! Grin

OP is clearly one sandwich short of a picnic but I nominate for Classics.

EnidButton · 07/03/2017 23:48

Not sure people will want their posts about their bum holes and vulva colours kept forever in classics.

But you never know...

PortiaCastis · 07/03/2017 23:54

Hahahahahahah wiping your bum with domestos oh god that's hilarious Grin. Grin

homealonehappy · 07/03/2017 23:57

I used one about 3 years ago and it had no chemicals in it (it was stuff like evening primrose oil and other stuff). Can't for the life of me remember the name. It worked but it didn't stay 'white' for long! I guess hormones made it return to its natural colour. I'd say getting it done professionally would have better/ longer results Smile

Obsidian77 · 08/03/2017 00:06

Senseiwoo has added some very useful info about skin-lightening creams.
These are unfortunately popular in many parts of Africa and Asia. I suspect that if you just bought some shit off the internet you'd end up with something that is mass-produced as a generic lightening cream.
I can't get too excited about your preference for light--up labia but please be warned, these creams often make the skin very blotchy.
So unless you actually want a tie-dye effect on your bits, you might be better getting it done professionally.

sashh · 08/03/2017 07:40

OMG

This has to go in classics.

I'm also slightly worried about the adverts that might pop up today.

HelenDenver · 08/03/2017 07:55

No need for classics, surely. It won't disappear from S&B

A rather interesting read...

"Will Dark Vaginal Lips Make Me Unattractive?
It is perfectly normal for labial and vaginal skin to be darker when compared to your body, darker than you expect it to be, or to discolor depending on certain factors. Thanks to the beauty and pornography industries, and other media, women have been led to believe that the only normal or attractive vaginas are pink, hairless, and sparkling. Unfortunately, many women become self-conscious about yet another aspect of their bodies that they should not worry about. Below are just a few comments from real people about this issue and whether it has an effect on relationships.

“It shouldn't be a deal breaker. And if for some reason it is, then he's not worth it no matter how good a boyfriend he is otherwise. It's like refusing to have sex with you over something completely normal, like a birthmark or freckles. I certainly don't think it looks dirty or unattractive. I think it looks like YOU. Be confident in that.” –jorwyn

“I've never met a vagina I didn't like. I've seen where porn actresses try to create some unrealistic, idealized vagina and they spend tons of time and money to do it. It might look good on camera but it isn't real. Personally, with girlfriends, ain’t nobody got time for that.”—An older dude

“You have to remember, it's only one part of the total package. If he cares about you then the color of your vagina shouldn't matter." –SunnyRaha2

Can I Lighten My Vagina Lips?
Since darker colors of vaginal tissue are completely normal, you shouldn’t worry about lightening the skin. However, since women all over the world worry about the color of their vaginal skin, home remedies have popped up everywhere and are easily found on the internet. We’ve listed some of the remedies below, though there is no guarantee to their efficacy. We have also included some simple changes you can make at home.

Lime juice is an effective natural bleaching agent, and considered to be one of the best. Since it is a common ingredient in many skin lightening options, it’s no surprise to find it in this particular home remedy. It is mixed with yogurt, which contains a good amount of bacteria, helping to prevent genital thrush which can cause quite a bit of pain. To use, mix a few drops of lime juice with the yogurt and apply a thick layer to the vaginal tissue. Let it sit for about twenty minutes, then wash thoroughly with a non-acidic, mild soap.
Another widely used home remedy for vaginal discoloration is mixing lime juice with turmeric, the spice that give curry its color (though turmeric is quite mild). Apply the mixture to vaginal skin, leaving it on for twenty to thirty minutes before thoroughly washing with a mild soap. Using this mixture regularly is reported to significantly lighten the skin within a few days.
Avoid the use of razors, hair removal products, talcum powder, or other hygiene products to the genital area because this can further darken or discolor skin.
Make sure any clothing and undergarments are loose-fitting or proper-fitting and not too tight. Undergarments should also be made preferably of cotton.
Being sure to follow a healthy diet prevents deficiencies in needed vitamins, minerals, and other nutrients. You should also drink six to eight glasses of water of day.
Maintaining a healthy body weight is important. You should get approximately thirty minutes of exercise a day, five days a week."

Okay I couldn't keep away...

For the PP who wondered if her fanny was blue- that can actually happen when you're pregnant.

My friends labia turned blue. Extra blood or baby on a vein or something apparently.

My friend is not Smurfette.

Somerville · 08/03/2017 09:57

Smurfette 😂

This really is the thread that keeps on giving.

It's quite surprising that bleaching / lightening the undercarriage is a desirable thing. A sexually aroused female has engorged labia, they naturally darken with arousal. Surely this is more desirable in a bedroom scenario than pale, disinterested lady parts?

PickledCauliflower · 08/03/2017 13:02

I steam my veg.

Never steamed my vag though :)

notanothernamechangebabes · 08/03/2017 13:05

Pale disinterested lady parts that swoon and come over all peculiar at the slightest provocation...

Anus whitening. I have finally heard it all!

Deadsouls · 08/03/2017 20:18

wandering OP is talking about vag whitening

Deadsouls · 08/03/2017 20:18

Which is just as mind boggling

Wishiwasmoiradingle2017 · 08/03/2017 20:22

I feel like my fanjo is totally neglected now. I only use shower gel.
Maybe there is a helpline for neglected fanjos?
Save our fanjos?
Help the fanjos?

imjessie · 08/03/2017 20:26

I don't think I get this post !!! 🤔🤔.. I don't even really look at it that much .. 🙄🙄

Chippednailvarnishing · 08/03/2017 20:35

But more importantly does it come with naan bread and the minty yoghurty stuff?
