Lipstick challenge for January

Don't worry, its not a 'thing' - you don't have to post photos on Facebook or get sponsorship for charity. Just something I'm planning to brighten up a dull January Smile

The idea is that you wear a different lipstick / lipgloss every day through January. I'm planning to stick all of mine in a big box and do a 'lucky dip' every morning. It will be a bit of fun (in a slightly pathetic way) and will be interesting to see which lipsticks I get excited about pulling out and which I'm maybe not that fond of anymore

Anyone else fancy it?

Clinique freebie in cherry pop.
Far more me. A nice classic matte red that suits the weather and my complexion. However transfers to DC each time I kiss or snuggle with them.

TeaAddict235 · 05/01/2017 15:43

cathyandclaire, lippy & trackkies. I know that feeling where you make lounging look classy 💋 that was me on New Years

PollyPerky · 05/01/2017 15:47

well I thought my beauty box was full- but 30 lipsticks?? Seriously? Mine cost around £20 each so I have around 3 which I use until they are finished.

BusterGonad · 05/01/2017 16:31

I'm starting this tomorrow, sorry I'm late to the party! I have about 50 lipsticks/pencils/stains varying from L'Oréal through to Chanel. 💋

BusterGonad · 05/01/2017 16:33

TeaAddict I have Cherry Pop 🍒 and love it!

Dulcimena · 05/01/2017 16:52

Sparkes yes please!! :) Have tried the Eucryl powder with sonic brush and there is a slight improvement but more would be good. I used to get the DIY kits of ebay until they were banned, a current rec would be amazing Blush

Frugal Re Nars Dolce Vita - yes, lovely shade, I didn't repurchase because I'm not sold on Nars' formula though.

Re LQ Medieval - didn't suit me at all! Not as suits everyone as they claim Wink

Since I last posted I have worn: Surratt Peccadille (sheer but buildable super moisturisng plum - LOVE) and Eglantine (deep rose, brightish but in no way OTT), and By Terry Cappuccino Fraise again. The Surratts are like a lighter version of Chantecaille Lip Chics, cheaper and actually nicer I think.

Tomorrow will be a Lip Chic for proper comparison purposes - I keep wanting to throw them all out so this could be interesting...!

Today's lucky dip result is Bite Beauty Pecan, which is a quite peachy browny nude with a lovely sheen and texture. I think I got it in a set as it's not at all the kind of thing I'd buy normally (it's a bit Kardashian though not quite so concealer-lips), and I suspect I have nudes that work much better, but in the spirit of this exercise I am going to GIVE IT A CHANCE.

We will see...

BusterGonad · 06/01/2017 14:20

Today I'm wearing Marc Jacobs Boy Gorgeous! It's a lovely fuchsia mix with purple tones.

I think Pecan's for the chop: the texture is FABULOUS, the coverage is great, it feels lovely, it even tastes nice, but every time I catch a glimpse of myself in the mirror I think "meh". Might be better if it was a little darker, or if I completely rejigged my other makeup, but I know I have nicer nudes.

I have a couple more Bite lipsticks in the bag that I remember being a lot more flattering, so I'm looking forward to those coming out.

ChardonnayKnickertonSmythe · 06/01/2017 16:06

Today was Clinique Super Strawberry Chubby Stick.

A sample free with something, Glamour mag from a few years ago. Only time I bought Glamour magazine I think.

Not bad, very natural, nice feel on the lips, but a colour's a bid muddy. Almost running out, won't be buying it.
I'll check out the Surratt Eglantine, sounds like something I'll like, never tried their lipsticks, but their eye shadows are the most beautiful colours and quality I've tried.

BusterGonad · 06/01/2017 18:18

Today's lippy?

Thanks for the Dolce Vita mini reviews!

BusterGonad that lipstick looks amazing on you!

BusterGonad · 06/01/2017 18:32

Thank you, not sure why I have a moon shaped red patch on my chin! Confused it may be the huge amounts of Leffe I've drunk!!!

BusterGonad · 06/01/2017 18:33

Leffe!

Sleek Matte Me in "Birthday Suit" for me today. This is a beautiful colour when I put it on but dries down much darker and is too brown for my complexion. As a result I've only ever worn this as a wash of colour where I dot it into the middle of my lips and blend it out. This adds a natural bit of colour to my lips and it's quite long lasting so I'll keep it for days when I need something natural but low-maintenance.

TeaAddict235 · 06/01/2017 22:01

Buster it's so good that I wore it again today Smile I got mine from a Glamour magazine too Chardonnay good old Glamour and it's freebies GrinGrin

BusterGonad · 07/01/2017 07:10

I love Glamour mag, and Grazia is good too! I love my Marc Jacobs lippys!

cathyandclare · 07/01/2017 08:41

Lovely lipsticks everyone, my wish list is growing!

Yesterday was a velvet lip gloss from collection in caramel, bought on a whim at the check-out in Boots. I really liked it, so worth the couple of quid. Today off to a lovely hotel with my whole family, so wearing spice it up by mac, a lovely dark sheer, easy to wear red in the day and not sure about this evening.

Have a fabulous weekend lippy lovers!

ChardonnayKnickertonSmythe · 07/01/2017 11:06

Went to the pub last night, and had Chanel Dialogue. One of my absolute favourites, love it so much I bought a back up.

It's a sheer but pigmented pink-red.

Mawsymoo · 07/01/2017 12:43

My all-time favourite today- MAC Syrup.

Judydreamsofhorses · 07/01/2017 12:56

I am behind on this. No lipstick today because I am in my pyjamas, but yesterday was CT Red Carpet.

AnotherPinkiePieStory · 07/01/2017 13:52

Oooo buster love the name and lipstick. Adore TF but never tried Marc Jacobs and I bet they are as lovely.
I had a tough day yesterday so bought lipstick to compensate. Clinique chubby sticks collaboration with crayola. Did I need 8 new lipsticks? No but lush and I too loved the free one with grazia so much I bought it twice!

ChardonnayKnickertonSmythe · 07/01/2017 13:53

What free one with Grazia?
What did I miss?

AnotherPinkiePieStory · 07/01/2017 13:55

Last summer I think chardonnay sorry.

ChardonnayKnickertonSmythe · 07/01/2017 13:58
