Lipstick challenge for January

Don't worry, its not a 'thing' - you don't have to post photos on Facebook or get sponsorship for charity. Just something I'm planning to brighten up a dull January

The idea is that you wear a different lipstick / lipgloss every day through January. I'm planning to stick all of mine in a big box and do a 'lucky dip' every morning. It will be a bit of fun (in a slightly pathetic way) and will be interesting to see which lipsticks I get excited about pulling out and which I'm maybe not that fond of anymore

Anyone else fancy it?

Marc Jacobs is now on my 'to buy list'. I have discovered a mall not too far from me that has MJ & CT counters, this has made me happy.

I currently have several Tiger lipstick holders on one of those ikea floating selves. Next to my make up table. I did go through a phrase of having those arcylic draws but I prefer them standing up. Oh and anthropologie dish on the make up table with my current favs/new additions ( I don't have a habit, honestly ).

Most of my make up is relatively new ( lions share in the last 2 years). I need to be ruthless, me thinks! Sniff & taste required for the oldest ones. Thanks Buster!

Lipstick Queen- seven deadly sins lip gloss in Indolence. Paired with a Chanel lipliner 34 natural. Thought I had lost the lipgloss, discovered in the bottom of my bag, earlier today.

I went into my favorite make up shop only to fall in love with another brand from Milan, Diego Dalla Palma...omg, the eyeshadow trios are amazing. Wtf is wrong with me!!! Must keep out. Leedy the Rouge Coco Stylo sounds beautiful!

So, I've started clearing out my stash. Think I'm in for a long night ( wine & Spotify at the ready).

Buster- discovered a Diego Dalla Palma lipstick-71 glossy lipstick. Rather impressed it looks almost finished!

Bubbles there are 2 eyeshadow trios I'm after! For some reason I feel my life wouldn't be complete without them! 😂 Good work on the clearing out!

Oh which ones are you lusting after? My tendencies for all things make up are not just limited to lipsticks!

I'm surprised I have any lips left?! I tried on so many last night( I shopped my own collection). Several unused & with a vague memory of buying. Clinique Back Honey and Rebel Pop, comes to mind

Bubbles I lusted after Black Honey for ages and was so disappointed when I finally got it! The eyeshadow trios I want are a set of greys, silver, slate and blacky glitter. So lush, and a trio of cream, taupe and a glitter darky purple browny. I so need them! They are the winter 2016 limited edition, to get both would cost about £50!!!!!!!

I'm obsessed with all make up. But after finding my HG of foundation and concealer that is no longer a issue. But eyeshadows and lipsticks are my must haves....and must have now!!!! Lol

Yeah I've decided Black Honey is not my colour. It's gone into 'the draw'... a step away from the bin. I did chuck out about 10/15 lipsticks last night though.

Oh what is your HG foundation/concealer? I'm always on the hunt. Recently brought Lancôme Teint Idol Ultra. Samples of the new Chanel ( impressed). I have 6 different brands on rotation at the moment

Hmm, I'm going to google these eye shadows! I was gifted Tarte matte In bloom palette for Christmas, disspointed. So now I would like the second palette....

I'm wearing black dress/nude patents today so I thought, perfect day for red lipstick.
But I have no red lipstick.

Anyway I'm wearing Roomiest Rose which is (you guessed it) a Chubby Stick, but an Intense this time.

Bubbles for me Dior Star is a beautiful foundation, not Matt, not so sheer that it does nothing, it has a glow but no glitter, it doesn't mask and it doesn't deep into fine lines, then on top of that on my dark circles and lines I apply Dior Skinflash! Love the combo, it works really well for me. The Diego Della Palma trios are beautiful, dark smoky and brooding I just want them both. I wish I never looked! 😂

Love this thread even though I keep forgetting to post on it . Really enjoying reading all the recs, at all price points. I'm now interested in exploring Marc Jacobs and Essence.

Have thrown a fair few l/s away now and it feels good. Today is Edward Bess Forever Yours, mid mauveish rose. Fab coverage, lasts well, lovely texture, good colour. I wish it were possible to see this range in real life because I'd definitely be up for other shades.

Buster I think I have cherry pop mini that came free with a magazine. Agree its an amazing colour, feels quite high maintenance though. I am a lazy lipstick wearer!

Dulce it isn't really, it doesn't slip and it's not glossy. Thinking about it I can't recall seeing mine when I had a tidy and clear out last week!

Ok, I've searched for the eye shadow trio....I think I will have to look harder. Can not find it. Which makes it more intriguing.

Oh I brought Dior Star back in November, it is a gorgeous foundation. However it wasn't colour matched to my actual skin tone. So only worn twice . Gutted. ( this was straight after trying All Nighter by Urban Decay- argh I felt like I was wearing a mask.) Pegged it over to Dior. I was matched with 020 which is a tad too warm. I also brought one of my current favourite lipsticks 219 Rose Montaigne. Every cloud! I want to try SkinFlash.

LOTD is Mac Flaming Lips, which is a slightly sheer glossy warm red. Love the colour though the texture is a bit goopier than I'd like.

Bubbles I'm 020, I do have a slight tan as I'm currently living in the Middle East! Back in blighty I'm probably 000 whiter than white! 😂

MAC Pink Pigeon today..... and a bit of a revelation. My issues with MAC matte lipsticks have been well documented on this thread, and PP was on my list of lipsticks that I was planning to chuck.

However, I'm wearing it today with a Rimmel lip liner underneath and its a total game changer! No Sahara lips because lip liner is very creamy and the colour has barely budged even after cups of tea, lots of talking and eating lunch. I may be converted

I love the staying power of the Mac Mattes Lotta, I think I wore mine (Ruby Woo) with a No7 automatic lip liner. Loved it but after 8 years it went off not surprisingly!

Loving the recommendations. I'm wearing bourjois rouge edition velvet but pretty much my own lip colour so not super excited. But the Kiko plum was amazing yesterday so will def keep going especially in winter. I've only passed on one lipstick (and a lip tint at that). There's no hope for me!

I've worn three different lipsticks today:

*NYX Bloody Mary, a superb matte cranberry in the morning at work. I should wear this more often!
*Max Factor Chilli, a brick red with quite a bit of gold shimmer after lunch (bored with this but it's almost gone, trying to finish it soon)
*Artdeco Pink Experience at home. This is a bright but natural pink, MLBB meets rose petals, and it feels like a lip balm.
