Did anyone else get a beauty advent calendar? I got a Selfridges one and am stupidly excited about opening the first door tomorrow! Anyone else?

Sorry mines a bronzer too not an eyeshadow. I'll probably gift to a friend.
Although I love the new products, the liberty one for me, not sure it's worth the cash so far.

InfiniteSheldon · 12/12/2016 21:14

Loving my Look Fantastic got a mini Foreo vibrating cleanser thingy today it's amazing have had to You Tube it.

MathsFiend · 12/12/2016 21:24

Yeah, I got the Nars bronzer too..... not a product I use as I am so fair, so would look daft. Would have far preferred a lipgloss. Liberty will have to really up its game for me to repurchase.

friendlyflicka · 12/12/2016 21:57

I have loved the Liberty one. Even the toothpaste. And the hand creams are lovely fragrances - more like perfumes.

FleshEmoji · 13/12/2016 05:46

What colour is your Selfridges calendar, whocansay?

Mine is pink and seems different to yours. Today I got some Molton Brown body wash - more cleansing products! My DH is saying, well I did get you the Dirty Girl one.

Housewife2010 · 13/12/2016 06:01

I love the licorice toothpaste from the weekend's Liberty calendar. I may have to repurchase.

mowglik · 13/12/2016 08:48

Icelandic relief Eye cream in the M&S box today. I'm really liking the spread of products in the calendar, hope they avoid too many duplicates (esp hand cream which is bit of a paltry offering as they come free with magazines all the time).

Used this last night and it was a lovely texture and quite cooling, can't see a huge difference yet but will continue to use it and see how my eyes fare. Thumbs up to M&S they've thought this calendar through well so far!

Lupinlady5 · 13/12/2016 09:17

Ah I would have preferred the bronzer over the lip gloss by a mile

kerstina · 13/12/2016 16:01

Ivor I have the you/ latest in beauty one too . Really pleased with it .

SymphonyofShadows · 14/12/2016 07:19

M&S is impressive today. I had this in one of their boxes this year but that was a quarter of the size of this one.

kally195 · 14/12/2016 07:28

Love the M&S one today. Smells amazing and is clearly going to last ages. I've put some on my hands and my skin feels fab.

mowglik · 14/12/2016 09:51

Nuxe oil in M&S today.. I have a larger size of this that I'm struggling to finish though but this may be handy for holidays etc so will tuck away somewhere. It does smell gorgeous

Serves me right for being such a beauty product whore hope there aren't too many more duplicates for me!

friendlyflicka · 14/12/2016 14:29

Do Liberty users like their perfume? I do and it is incredibly generous size - £60 worth but I don't know if it will be to everyone's taste?

Pomegranatepompom · 14/12/2016 16:14

Not tried it yet - is it similar to any other fragrance ?

MsRinky · 14/12/2016 16:31

I like it a lot, especially once the top note of cucumber has settled down. I will be putting it away for the summer though, it's not a winter fragrance!

BringMeTea · 14/12/2016 16:37

Well, see I don't like perfume at all as a rule (few exceptions) and initially liked the cucumber but that settled into the other bits (technical) and I don't like. Still, it's a good inclusion. Someone I know is bound to be happy with it!

Pomegranatepompom · 14/12/2016 16:43

Interesting !
Not sure whether to try or regift.
Bf is doing well, will give nars stuff due to unsuitable shades

friendlyflicka · 14/12/2016 16:59

I really liked it - seaweed and gentle flowers - but I have quite eclectic perfume tastes so I don't know how good a choice?

friendlyflicka · 14/12/2016 17:49

I wonder how much is economics - how cheap you can get a bulk load of items - as well obviously of considering what is good for the brand in terms of future custom...(not very well put - feeling ill today)

DustOffYourHighestHopes · 14/12/2016 18:30

I love quality items like blusher or perfume - I won't be overjoyed with everything (otherwise there would be nothing interesting in the calendar!) but generally it's good for them to include a few risky items! Haven't tried the perfume, saving it for my stocking.

I'd quite like Christmassy stuff in there though (eg diptyque xmas range instead of baies, and a wintry perfume).

Strawberryfield12 · 14/12/2016 19:50

I like the perfume and I think its fairly safe and likeable choice. At least I dont see it as a marmite perfume, there doesnt seem to be anything what could make people cringe and hate it.

onemouseplace · 14/12/2016 20:18

I didn't like the perfume - was put off initially by the cucumber and then the floral part smelt like dead flowers on me. I do think it's pretty marmite to be honest. I will try it again in the summer though, just to see if my thoughts change.

I did love the packaging though.

mowglik · 14/12/2016 20:48

Which perfume is it??? I can't stand the suspense!

friendlyflicka · 14/12/2016 21:19

It is odejo.

I thought it must be a bit marmite if I liked it, my daughter hated it, and then I read the couple of reviews that echoed my daughter's feelings (I am a bit of a perfume bore who reads reviews and stuff...). I think it's lovely and marine, but my daughter thinks chemicals and rotting cucumber.

littlepinkfizz · 14/12/2016 21:26

I got the M&s one...my first beauty advent calendar and I love it! Get excited opening it! Only thing I didn't really like was the eyebrow gel...why clear?? And the nail polishes on consecutive days. Otherwise fab stuff and fab value! Wil definitely be getting another next year!
