Hello, indeed QueenC where has the week gone!? I know mine has gone crazy with work, hence no chance to check in/check thread till now.

Yesterday eve with DH/friends went to a special concert in Cambridge in Syd Barrett's (of Pink Floyd fame) memory/70th birthday if he was still alive. They flew in a whole orchestra from Sweden to interpret some of his songs, it was an inspirational evening/highly enjoyable but it does make you wonder at all that promise and talent wasted away on LSD... Wore new JCrew toothpick dark blue skinnies, with burgundy top with big Sequin star (bought last year in German work trip, can try and find link if you're interested), black suede ankle biker boots, blush scarf and new Uniglo downy ultra light jacket in burgundy.

Felt good and super comfortable. Miss my contact lenses though (hate wearing specs!).

Happy love the Boden heels AND the leather skirt, hope the Next heels are good. I am so jealous at anyone that can wear such high heels! Hang in there Sober Oct almost over! Bravo!!!

shop that film looks good! thanks for sharing, I think those highly creative fashion people are like swans on the surface but frantically pedalling in panic below water

liberty safe journey home. Love Menorca, hope you managed a paddle in some of its virgin coves, despite mozzie misery.

FedUp also like your outfit, I checked out the leopard pixies but sold out, thanks for the heads up though.
Mara stylish belt!
Blingy beautiful trench!
Amber and her Bodystocking! Grin
One great to hear that your acne got zapped fast! I had acne (hormonal) when I was very young and my mum was excellent in taking me to see a dermatologist aged only 14. His treatment was so effective it got knocked on the head before taking hold or leaving me with scarring and by age 15 till today have never suffered since, but I do remember the misery and really feel for anyone who has to suffer it.
Bernice I love the starry/printed Warehouse dress links! And the top looks lush too: Get It! I am also pondering those office boots but in black...how funny everyone on this thread wearing the same shoes!

Phew that is a long catch up post, hope I got everyone's names right this time Blush I do have some new purchases (double Blush) so much for my good intentions to simplify wardrobe, but nothing too outrageous, will link later!

Drywhitethanks · 28/10/2016 19:34

these boots arrived today. Nice enough but it isn't love really. Too close to the Pettys heel wise. May try to find an ankle boot with a block heel.....I feel an epic search coming on.
I'm having a fashion slump at the moment.

PollysPoppy · 28/10/2016 20:22

Oh Dry I was just popping back to say that mine arrived yesterday and, whilst lovely, they're going back as they're just too narrow a fit for me. Thanks for linking them though and for the code! I don't know about you but I was really looking forward to them coming so it brings on a flat feeling when they aren't right ....

I've been boot hunting today and bought .... almost embarrassed to admit it, three pairs! Do is buying me one for my birthday though! Now I have a gap in my wardrobe for a new jacket/coat as my existing one is navy but I've bought black boots and want to get black skinnies. If anyone has seen anything which might fit the bill, please shout!

AmberNectarine · 28/10/2016 21:40

Have you looked at &OS for boots dry? They have some lovely ones.

HappyGirlNow · 28/10/2016 21:52

bernice thank you Grin and no spend November is a great idea! But can I get a pass for the YSL bag I'd planned to buy at the end of a Sober October?

No I don't have the white Lucky Charm though did consider them but I'd prefer gold hardware and in real life I thought they were more of a dove grey. So think you're right, they'll go nicely with greys.

blair LOVE the striped top!

Thanks SoyYo happy it's almost November Grin

Next heels came and I love them, really nice Nude shade.

lib love Menorca

PollysPoppy I am also boot-crazy! What kind of jacket are you after?

AmberNectarine · 28/10/2016 22:12

Buy it on Halloween and then you're not breaking any rules, Happy.

Took my leopard YSL out tonight. Man I love that bag. Did rediscover my Balenciaga city mini last night though and enjoyed wearing that too. Also found the pink snakeskin Dior baguette my parents got me for my 18th, determined to use that more often!

AmberNectarine · 28/10/2016 22:24

I love red lipstick. Wore a Smashbox one last night that slid all over my face - hate that! Bin.

This in 01 is my absolute holy grail. Real Hollywood red and DOES. NOT. BUDGE. So sad we lost the Sephora local to me. Always stock up when in France.

AdoraBell · 28/10/2016 23:04

Love the coat Blair, am very tempted by the embellished DKNY further down the page but can't really spare the cash.

Have been full of cold this week so no shopping other than necessities, i.e., electric tooth brushes for DDs.

One did yo get the sweater from H&M?

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 28/10/2016 23:41

adora i didn't end up going to H&M in the end, hopefully i'll get a chance to go next week

Everyonelovessparkles · 29/10/2016 08:20

I like those warehouses dresses bernice, the short ones look like easy day dresses and the maxi one has a lovely print.

queenc that top is a lovely colour. It's interesting what you say about skirts as I have the same thing with trousers! I don't like my thighs so fitted styles don't always suit me and things that fit on the waist don't fit on the legs. And even though I'm averaged height, everything is always soooo long. I'd love a nice pair of black trousers for 'smart casual' but never seem to find anything. Therefore I just stick with skirts, dresses and jeans.

Excellent buy blair on the trench! Always good to get a bargain on something you need.

soyyo your night out sounded fab. Great outfit too. Glad you are pleased with the colour of the uniqlo coat.

Shame about the boots dry and polly as they like looked a good shape and heel height. What kind of coat / jacket are you looking for polly.

Sorry the holiday hasn't been the best lib. Safe journey home.

Glad you like the next shoes happy. Well done on sober October - nearly there!

VivaVegas · 29/10/2016 09:04

Just catching up, missed the end of the last thread. Sadly DM has been diagnosed with cancer so have been a bit all over the place. Treatment starts in a few weeks but it's going to be tough as she lives alone and myself and siblings all work full time/have kids/are not all that near so it's going to involve a lot of juggling to ensure she has the support she needs. Hoping my employer will be supportive but only time will tell.
On a positive note we had a warm and sunny half term break away so nice to get a bit of rest ahead of expected stress. Liberty I swear by Avon skin so soft dry oil spray to keep the mozzies at bay, no nasties and great on the kids and for us it works.
Loving all the winter links, will get all my summer stuff put away once washed and get the boots and sweaters out!

FedupNagging · 29/10/2016 09:17

Bernice lovely warehouse dresses; also love the navy Finery dress - think you have a few items from Finery?

Excellent bargain on the mac Blair; are you still saving for the Burberry?

Gorgeous colour top Queen and I am a big fan of the 3/4 sleeve.

Shame the SE boots don't cut the mustard as they're a great style. Polly SE shoes are narrow so I size up except forgot to do this with my pettys

Love the sound of your outfit last night SoYo; did you enjoy the concert?

I have lost 2 pairs of reading glasses in the last week so am wondering if I should purchase one of these highly fashionable items Grin I'll get my coat. This would work although don't think I'm edgy enough to pull off the look....

Sorry to hear about your DM Viva Flowers. My DH swears by Skin So Soft too, I believe the SAS use it Grin

I really like those Warehouse dresses Bernice, the third reminds me of a William Morris print.

Am sure you'll rock as a skeleton Shop. And yes, do come as a snake to the MU Amber.

Your Pink Floyd outfit sounds good SoyYo, was the burgundy coat a success?

&OS does have great boots Dry, they've got some starry ones I'm coveting but c may look a bit like 70s Bowie.

I'm deep in the country so no fashion news. I have a bit of stressful week coming up with an article to write by Wednesday and Dd1's birthday party to organise on Saturday so may try and avoid fashion chat!

FedupNagging · 29/10/2016 09:22

Flowers for you Viva, I am so sorry to hear about your dm.

QueenCobalt · 29/10/2016 10:25

vegas sending you love. We will be here to hold your hand or distract you with nice things to look at.

Feel like I'm dying after doing core killer body. Resting my abs on the sofa with a cup of tea.

Is it wrong to like this. Quite bonkers but I like it anyway.

QueenCobalt · 29/10/2016 10:27

Your next bodysuit amber

QueenCobalt · 29/10/2016 10:33

Or this colour way amber

QueenCobalt · 29/10/2016 10:34

for vegas

maradesbois · 29/10/2016 11:47

Morning!

Amber the ysl sequinned suit is perfect for you!! Great job on the links as ever QueenC. Nice new buys btw, love the seasonal berry colours too.

Blair ShockEnvy at your Outnet APC trench, an amazing find. I tried to see what else they have but seems to be a glitch with APC, it's not showing in the designers list.

Vegas so sorry to hear about your dm's diagnosis, so so hard for all the family. You will cope, send you much love and support Flowers.

Slow start for me today, still on morning coffee. Another big night on the champagne and vintage red with friends, getting too used to this good life. Seriously need to rein in my spends though, have been purposely avoiding looking at my cc balance the past fortnight, have just checked and it is double my mental estimate.

maradesbois · 29/10/2016 11:48

dry I thought the boots looked great and very you but you're right to keep going looking for the perfect pair. What is the brief/budget?

Dreamqueen · 29/10/2016 14:09

Vegas Flowers sorry to read about dm.

Black Stans have arrived & I love their "orthopaedic" qualities Halloween Smile

Lovely mac Blair

Can't keep up with all the lovely links. Sorry.

Did hot yoga earlier, I am a sweaty quivering mess. Need to shower but need coffee more.

Enjoy your party Shop & family.

I bet you looked great Amber With your figure, you'd look great in anything.

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 29/10/2016 14:10

vegas sending you a whole lot of love and hugs. if you need any advice, i've been there so i may be able to help. just drop me a pm anytime if i can help Thanks

That sequinned suit is AMAZING!!!

just back from town, got my lobes pierced a second time and a daith piercing on the other side. very happy with them, feel more balanced with one on each side now. Again, a different piercer this time, it was commented that my ears are very tiny and dainty Grin she also said i'm the perfect person to pierce as i don't flinch and i keep myself calm and still very easily haha

shopafrolic · 29/10/2016 14:24

Viva so sorry to hear about your DM. I hope the treatment is successful. As Mara says - you will cope, my experience is you just do. But it is tough. Here holding a virtual hand.
So the Halloween skeleton costumes are these all in one things from Sainsbury's. Not at all flattering. I can't help thinking if i had been in a better state of mind I should have gone for something a little sexier like this rather than looking as though I am wearing pyjamas but too late now and I guess the kids won't care. Gone are the days of sexy Halloween clubbing nights Envy Amber - I remember a lot of PVC in those days Grin (and talc!)

SoyYo · 29/10/2016 15:13

Vegas very sorry to read about your DM, I wish you strength. I'm sure your employer will accommodate flex working 💐 do get a support network round you too, you'll need to have a laugh and glass of Wine even more often than before. If all else fails, pop in and we can all post crazy outfits like the ones I've just seen above (QueenC Shop Smile) to keep your sense of humour intact Grin

Apologies I keep muddling up names! Doh trench comment was for blair not blingy, top comment also wring person! Be patient, I think im starting to get "senior moments"

fedup thanks I had a great eve! stokey yes love the uniglo in burgundy, such a useful light warm little jacket best is at the concert I could tuck it away in its little pouch inside handbag, I like it when clothes are that functional and flattering too!

We were planning on going back to our flat in Norfolk again this weekend, but boiler broken and British Gas engineer home right now fixing stopped our plans, good excuse to carry on with my wardrobe sorting if I wasn't wasting time on MN that is
Happy weekend!!

SoyYo · 29/10/2016 15:16

fedup your first reading glasses link didn't work for me. The second made me laugh out loud Halloween Grin
