Thanks all. Have had to resort to steroids to deal with the bites. They are effective but am feeling rubbish on them. Not enjoying this holiday at all but trying to suck it up and not be a misery for DH and DD. I'll just whinge to all you lucky lot instead!!!

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 27/10/2016 09:33

oh lib you poor thing, those mozzies do seem to love you don't they. hope the steroids help Thanks

shop how is your DF now? hope things are easier now he's home

Well, int he last few months i've had a resurgence of the hormonal acne that plagued me as a teen and I am very pleased to say there's been an easy fix with my doctor giving me Pan Oxyl cream for it. It's cleared up completely with and i only have to use the cream now if i start getting any spots. the cream is very drying but nothing i can't deal with using my usual mosituriser. I'm just pleased it's cleared it up because it was making me miserable just like it did when i was a teen

Everyonelovessparkles · 27/10/2016 09:54

Oh no lib sorry to hear you aren't enjoying the holiday. Is it just the mossies / medicine that is making you miserable?

Glad to hear the cream has helped one. I've never had great skin, I think I used to overload it in my younger days with loads of different creams and potions, whereas now a more pared back approach seems to work better.

Thanks for the cake fedup.

Am still feeling a bit rubbish but am going into the office later. Was going to stay at home but DH annoyed me (he's working at home) so decided I would go in. OOTD is blue and black skirt from monsoon, black top with crochet collar from Hobbs, patent pointy flats and black swarvoski bangle and my black Bayswater. blair has inspired me, with her new bag, to get it out of the cupboard!

shopafrolic · 27/10/2016 10:40

Not sure if you spotted my post at the bottom of the last page.

HappyGirlNow · 27/10/2016 17:00

That looks interesting shop Embarrassing to admit, but I thought Anna Wintour was American!

Just ordered this leather skirt from White Company after seeing it linked on the 'Leather Skirt' thread (though no-one seemed to like the shape of it on there!). 20% off.

Also ordered these nude cage sandals from Next - hopefully they will be nude in real life and not that awful pink Next seem to call nude. Also saw them on a S&B thread!

HappyGirlNow · 27/10/2016 17:03

Aw didn't realise cage sandals had a metallic element - hope they don't look tacky IRL!

FedupNagging · 27/10/2016 17:20

I saw a trailer for that recently Shop then promptly forgot about it! It's now back on my radar. I love these types of documentaries, they're fascinating and funny and interesting and sometimes cringe-worthy all at the same time.

Liking both your purchases Happy. The colour of the sandals looks nice in the picture so fingers crossed they are the right shade irl.

So pleased you have sorted your skin problem One. Whatever age, spots are awful, they make you feel so self conscious.

No fashion news today. Am off out to see NT Live later and possibly a drink afterwards so will be yet again super casual. Think I'll wear navy Masion scotch skinnies and cream BR silk shirt with navy jigsaw loafers.

Love sound of your outfit for later fedup

maradesbois · 27/10/2016 19:24

Hello!

Couldn't find the old thread so am just going to catch up from here, thanks for new one fedup.

My black tie event was fab, tks for comments, was really happy with my dress and whole outfit. Last week or so has been a whirlwind of travelling and half term madness, a blur of Shrek world, nat history museum, London eye etc, all absolutely splendid ideas on the busiest week of the year but the dcs have been beyond excited at the full-on entertainment programme!

Can't wait for the mu too, looks to be a good size group of us.

Marsha G Rossis would be perfect for you.

Stokey love my black stans too, dh says they look orthopaedic but am not bothered by that or loss of currency with fashion editors, stans all the way for me!

lib oh no, how crappy. I suffer too but not to that level.

One glad you found something that works. I am prone to spots, not acne but still v annoying, and have only been properly on top of it in last few years since I started seeing a dermatologist.

Blair inspired by you I got my makeup done at Chanel counter for my event last week, bought some stuff, was v happy with it all. Not sure about US shopping and how the exchange rate will effect jcrew etc. Have just spent over an hour looking for a good deal on a down coat for ds but too confusing.

libertydoddle · 27/10/2016 19:51

Hello all. My legs are back down to normal size and no longer itching like crazy so I am much happier (though possibly slightly hyper from the steroids). I can't open links on rubbish WiFi.

Mara glad to hear your big night went well. One great that your acne responds well to the treatment.

Shop I have seen ads for the Met Ball documentary. I'd love to see it.

So the upshot of my swollen bitten legs is that it's possible to get through a week away with one maxi skirt, one pair of chinos and 3 t-shirts and a cardigan Grin

Dreamqueen · 27/10/2016 20:25

Glad to read that you're feeling better Lib i've forgotten where you've gone to.

Mara your week sounds really hectic but a lot of fun. I bet you looked amazing at the black tie event.

Like tonights outfit Fedup

I'm going to collect my black Stans tomorrow. (or orthopaedic shoes as maras DH calls them. i love my white ones so hoping I'll love the black ones for winter. I should change my name from DQ to trainerqueen, I have more trainers than shoes now.

did hot yoga this morning, i can feel my legs stiffening up already. Being a glutton for punishment, I'm going again tomorrow. I haven't done any exercise for months!

AmberNectarine · 27/10/2016 21:21

Out in my bodystocking. Surprisingly warm, you'll be pleased to note lib.

Might wear it to MU.

Everyonelovessparkles · 27/10/2016 21:32

Glad the bites are reducing. You'll be the new queen of the holiday capsule wardrobe Grin

fedup your night out outfit sounds lovely and not super casual at all.

Hope you like the next shoes happy. Nice skirt.

Have fun amber Halloween Smile

libertydoddle · 27/10/2016 21:35

I DARE you to wear it to the MU amber Grin

maradesbois · 27/10/2016 21:35

Haha Dream, don't let that put you off though, you really suit black. I don't think I do particularly but still got lots of use out of them last winter.

While I need to make a concerted effort not to shop despite the lure of gorgeous winter stuff was tempted by this burgundy belt yesterday. Wore it out last night with MiH skinny flares and burgundy acne colts and floral equipment shirt. Felt good.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 27/10/2016 21:39

Oh wow I have inspired Everyone and mara Grin A productive day!

Have fun Amber, bet you look fab, luckily it's quite mild at the moment still.

You too Fedup, outfit sounds great.

I'm having a nice evening browsing clothes watching the apprentice :)

AmberNectarine · 27/10/2016 21:44

I'm not known for turning down a dare lib

shopafrolic · 27/10/2016 22:06

Have fun Amber

BerniceBobsHerHair · 28/10/2016 09:36

Go for it Amber Grin

Glad you are happy with your bag Blair, your work outfit the other day sounded very stylish.

Mara bet you looked great at the black tie do.

Lib glad to hear you are feeling a bit better - where have you gone? I missed it too.

Dream hope you like the black stans!

That's interesting about trainer styles Shop - and evidence that Amber is ahead of the curve as always! But where I live, I never see anyone in Stans, though some in new balance (and teenages in superstars) so I think we are a good few years behind Grin

Happy well done on almost getting to the end of Sober October - not long to go now. Shall we attempt a No spend November together??

I've decided to give the white office lucky charm boots a try - Happy this is a colour you don't have, right? Grin I think they will look good with grey / pale jeans, all black outifts, dresses...Hope I am right!

I also am awaiting delivery of this dress (though it is almost £20 cheaper on the JL website where I got it from). Like this one too.

I popped into Warehouse yesterday - lots of lovely prints, like this and this and this.

The red lipstick thread has encouraged me to dig out my Russian Red - go through love and hate with this lipstick, loving it today!

OOTD is distressed boyfriend jeans from Banana Republic (love the shape as they are straight leg), navy and burgundy jumper, beige suede boots, check scarf and leather jacket to go out.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 28/10/2016 09:52

Inspired by mara Wink I have just snagged this coat on the outnet new in. Grin It feels so nice to get something I need on there.

Also ordered this top, which I've had my eye on for a while and is in the sale.

Lovely belt mara and the outfit sounds great, all very you.

Thanks Bernice, love the sound of your outfit today! Hope you like the lucky charms, sounds like they're fast becoming an MNV Item.

I am definitely a Stan Fan Grin

libertydoddle · 28/10/2016 13:01

We're in Menorca.
Amber Grin no need to consider yourself under pressure of a dare.
Still can't open links.
Flying home tomorrow, can't wait.

AmberNectarine · 28/10/2016 15:24

Back in more normal attire today - black lowlands, coated skinnies, purple &OS knit and red mcQ skull scarf. Still a Halloweeny colour palette I guess!

QueenCobalt · 28/10/2016 16:31

Gosh, I don't know where the week has gone!

lib hope you've enjoyed the rest of your holiday
bernive love that finery dress and the warehouse star print
amber bet you rocked it
blair you must live in more of a backwater than me-even round here people wear stans Grin

I've started wearing black jeans and cords for work again and have been thinking that I need some brighter tops. Love navy and black together at night but not so much for daytime. Anyway, nipped into white stuff yesterday as happened to be passing and fell in love with this. Looks quite red on the screen but it's a gorgeous raspberry and damson colour. I also tried a skirt on in there-i love their winter skirts as they do velvets and rich colours-used to wear them loads. Trying it on confined why I don't do skirts anymore-it just seems to highlight my thickening middle and makes me feel frumpy. Much happier in trousers/jeans or a dress.

shopafrolic · 28/10/2016 18:00

Perfect for you QueenC
Amber I just overheard 2 people inor village shop who'd been to the same event as you last night. I think they were still wasted. Grin
Tomorrow I will be mostly wearing a very unflattering skeleton outfit from sainsburys as we are off to a Halloween party as a skeleton family. No way to make that look good!
