Help! Do I look like a twit?

DP has just informed me that he has arranged swanky birthday drinks for me tomorrow. Have delved into my wardrobe in a bit of a mad panic.

Are people going to look at me with raised eyebrows...? I know most people will not give a tiny rats behind.

This is a little more daring than I would usually wear... I need reassurance or alternatively an intervention before I wear this out of the house.

Will obviously wear magic pants to keep the jiggly bits in... Blush I am also aware I am slovenly and the mirror is filthy...

Help! Do I look like a twit?

I don't like it at all but not because it's low but because it looks like it's on back to front. You have a beautiful figure, REALLY beautiful but people will look at your dress rather than you. If that's what you want and feel confident, wear it but only if it's at a club because it's not a ' somewhere swanky dress imo. Have a lovely birthday!Flowers

TheWeeBabySeamus1 · 09/07/2016 22:52

I think it looks great OP, and if I had your figure I'd wear it to Asda and not give a crap Grin

Just make sure to put on plenty of double sided tape so nothing falls out Wink

FeliciaJollygoodfellow · 09/07/2016 23:02

I think it looks amazing on you and I am insanely jealous! Even if I was three stone lighter my saggy fun bags would ruin the look Wink

I say wear it with pride! Maybe apply some tape though just to be sure there are no wardrobe malfunctions.

AmberNectarine · 09/07/2016 23:11

I don't normally like a very plunging neckline, but it works on you because you're slim and not too busty.

I would lose the nude shoes in favour of strappy sandals though - the dress is too sexy for K.Middy footwear.

LanaorAna1 · 09/07/2016 23:16

You look great - rock on.

AmberNectarine · 09/07/2016 23:23

Woah, just RTFT.

So what if the OP wants people to look at her. Since when was that such a bad thing? Are women now expected to be shy and retiring, slinking around in the background, wearing White Stuff?

Bollocks to that.

AmberNectarine · 09/07/2016 23:24

And, do you know, I can't remember the last time I heard a man referred to as 'desperate' or 'attention seeking'.

Ikeameatballs · 09/07/2016 23:24

I like it but please sit down in front of a mirror first to see if it gapes!

FankEweVeryMuch · 09/07/2016 23:25

You look amazing in that dress. Do you feel good in it? Does it make you feel great? If I he answer is yes then you really should wear it.

I'd wear different shoes if I were you, personally.

Ilovetorrentialrain · 09/07/2016 23:36

OP if you can wear it with complete unfaltering confidence then absolutely go for it. It's one of those dresses you have to wear and not let it wear you. I agree with PPs it needs strappy heels.

Have you worn it before or is it brand new? If worn before did you feel good in it?

Have a fab night whatever you wear!

ShutTheFuckUpBarbara · 09/07/2016 23:46

Shame that bun fights seem to have spread to s&b now as well :(

As for the dress OP I think it looks great on you. Yes it's revealing, but so what? It's 2016 not 1620.

Hope you enjoy your birthday drinks, have fun!

Envy Envy Envy Envy Envy

apatheticfallacy · 10/07/2016 00:06

You look super hot in an elegant way! I wish I'd worn more things like that before I had children and had boobs that wouldn't be tucked into the waist!

I'd either wear it with my hair in a loose updo or down to one side in loose waves. Black strappy heels and maybe a metallic clutch. Makeup neutral but as flawless as I could manage.

puglife15 · 10/07/2016 00:06

You look great.

BUT

I feel the dress wears you not the other way round. I don't love it, personally just not a fan of the style and don't think it's that flattering.

I'd like to see what you looked like in some alternative outfits so we aren't just clouded by your great figure eg in something else you might look even better.

AmberNectarine · 10/07/2016 00:27

Actually, looking more closely, I'm not sure it's the right dress for you, simply because you seem to be an 'inverted triangle' shape (I.e. Shoulders wider than hips) and the dress really emphasises that due to the neckline. You look fractionally unbalanced (though still amazing - this is just the perfectionist in me).

I would love to see you in a sleeveless, bodycon dress with a tight crew neck and a slightly shorter skirt.

ArfurFacksake · 10/07/2016 00:49

I love it OP.
Please wear the dress.

If I had your figure and felt confident I surely would. In fact I'd wear it to go grocery shopping!

Agreed it's a little "look at me" but I think the general public and your friends won't be so disparaging. They'll be green with envy.

Fab figure, if you've got it flaunt it.

Have a lovely birthday and enjoy your evening.
Please post a pic of your finished look Wink

Holowiwi · 10/07/2016 04:24

I think you look great have a fun time

Newmanwannabe · 10/07/2016 06:16

I think it looks gorgeous. Wear it while you can before gravity affects you and even then, if you still have the confidence wear it then too.

Wear it for all of us that wish we could still get away with it Grin

maxeffort0satisfaction · 10/07/2016 07:03

I can't be bothered to read it all but fuck me that's a very low cut and you have no boobs to show.. I know styles like that are for small breasts but .. its like there is nothing. it doesn't suit you. yes you are slim and on paper it should work but its very unflattering. not a twit but just unflattering.
forget the magic pants and get a padded bra and a dress with more fabric.

when you drink a few cocktails or wines you'll be flashing to everyone. its way too low and doesn't flatter your chest.

maxeffort0satisfaction · 10/07/2016 07:04

just because you are slim doesn't mean you can wear anything.

maxeffort0satisfaction · 10/07/2016 07:05

correction: look good in anything. you can wear anything technically..

burnishedsilver · 10/07/2016 07:05

Deja vu.
I havent read all the replies so sorry if I'm repeating but wasn't there an almost identical thread about the same dress a couple of months ago?

mumto1babyboy · 10/07/2016 07:07

You look amazing!!

MrsCampbellBlack · 10/07/2016 07:20

I agree with Amber. You have a fab figure OP but I think you could find something better to wear.

I am not a fan of massively low necklines and think a bodycon dress with cut away shoulders would look better.

I also don't like those low cut t shirts lots of younger men seem to wear now - they also should get a nice cardi Wink

burnishedsilver · 10/07/2016 09:41

What happens that neckline when you sit?
