Help! Do I look like a twit?

DP has just informed me that he has arranged swanky birthday drinks for me tomorrow. Have delved into my wardrobe in a bit of a mad panic.

Are people going to look at me with raised eyebrows...? I know most people will not give a tiny rats behind.

This is a little more daring than I would usually wear... I need reassurance or alternatively an intervention before I wear this out of the house.

Will obviously wear magic pants to keep the jiggly bits in... Blush I am also aware I am slovenly and the mirror is filthy...

(But I think putting anything under it will just look weirder)

Nksw · 09/07/2016 17:36

I never quite recovered from my mildly wild teenage years. Can confirm it is definitely the right way round... Plus itgives me a weird front wedgie if I turn it around (just tried!).

Cannot trust DP to give an honest answer, he is far too nice. So thank you for your honest answers.

I'm really thinking that it's back to front. There are a lot of tops and dresses with low slit backs but not that many that cut as low as that at the front.

Fuzzypeggy · 09/07/2016 17:37

Cross post op

Fuzzypeggy · 09/07/2016 17:38

If it was me id be tempted to sew the slit up about 3 inches but that's just me, I love altering things

Cakescakescakes · 09/07/2016 17:38

It's a bit OTT. You have a great figure etc but anyone wearing this kind of super exposed outfit just smacks a bit of 'look at me' desperation to me. I just don't think it's a look anyone can pull off in a totally classy way. Nothing to do with you at all.

maddiesparks · 09/07/2016 17:38

You have an amazing figure and if anyone can get away with that dress it's you, it does look like maybe it's meant to be on the other way round and I'd be paranoid that people would be looking at me all night thinking just that. I don't think I'd wear it personally but I don't think you look ridiculous, just very daring with a great figure.

WordGetsAround · 09/07/2016 17:39

Great figure, but think you would look even more brilliant in a better dress.

imjessie · 09/07/2016 17:41

Just put a stitch in it so it doesn't have quite such a v . Easily done and problem solved .

EssentialHummus · 09/07/2016 17:42

I rather like it on you, but a)go with black heels and b) I'd only wear for (standing!) drinks as it's a bit much otherwise.

hippydippybaloney · 09/07/2016 17:43

I would wear this to do the frigging housework if I looked like that in it!

eurochick · 09/07/2016 17:47

Your figure is fantastic but I think the v is a bit much.

QuimReaper · 09/07/2016 17:51

DO IT OP, you look stunning!

ApocalypseNowt · 09/07/2016 17:53

What sort of magic pants are you wearing? I need to get me some of those, hell yes i do.

taytotayto111 · 09/07/2016 17:54

Fuck the bitches who wish they had your figure. I wish I had and if I did believe me I'd wear that.

SaggyNaggy · 09/07/2016 17:54

I would wear this to do the frigging housework if I looked like that in it!

This^

TJH1 · 09/07/2016 17:55

Dress looks fantastic on you, love the sleeves and length, all demure and then bam!!! I reckon you need black heels, as high as you can manage.

ScreamingNotWaving · 09/07/2016 17:55

Wear it! You get old so quick (says the old gimmer).

Buttwing · 09/07/2016 17:55

You look stunning wear it. Definitely, absolutely, the end.

Try sitting down and walking around in the dress, so you can check for gaps and if you feel good in it go for it! Have a lovely time.

RosieposiePuddingandPi · 09/07/2016 17:58

Absolutely wear it!! You look gorgeous.

SouthWestmom · 09/07/2016 17:58

Honestly? You have a brilliant figure but the dress itself looks cheap (as in fabric) and maybe not up to somewhere 'swanky'. It might just be the photo. If the dress is more expensive looking in RL wear it.

OurBlanche · 09/07/2016 17:58

It does scream 'Look at me' - which is exactly why you should wear it, on your birthday, at a swanky drinks do.

You can hold a pose as well as a drink... and enjoy every single 'look at me' moment Smile

GreenRut · 09/07/2016 17:59

I think you look bloody great OP. Life is too short to worry. If you feel amazing in it then wear it. I used to have a thing for denim hot pants, thick black tights and bright red peep toe stilettos. I used to get looks. Didn't care. I looked amazing (in my head)
