Help! Do I look like a twit?

DP has just informed me that he has arranged swanky birthday drinks for me tomorrow. Have delved into my wardrobe in a bit of a mad panic.

Are people going to look at me with raised eyebrows...? I know most people will not give a tiny rats behind.

This is a little more daring than I would usually wear... I need reassurance or alternatively an intervention before I wear this out of the house.

Will obviously wear magic pants to keep the jiggly bits in... Blush I am also aware I am slovenly and the mirror is filthy...

Help! Do I look like a twit?

Bloody hell, there are some seriously depressing attitudes to womens' bodies and clothing on this thread. Yuck.

I think you look amazing OP.

FrannySalinger · 09/07/2016 19:10

I don't think it looks remotely 'sluttish'. It looks gorgeous. Wear it, and happy birthday!

Baconcrispsmakethebestsandwich · 09/07/2016 19:10

Jesus Christ DO NOT WEAR A VEST TOP

You look amazing, when you're 90 you'll look back and be glad you wore it.

Fucking vest top Grin

Baconcrispsmakethebestsandwich · 09/07/2016 19:12

Lack of bosom Grin that's the whole point of small tits. you can wear things like this!

C'mon sisters let's not knock each other down

SensitiveThread · 09/07/2016 19:15

Too low cut
Risqué
A bit ridiculous
"Look at me" desperation
A bit much
Cheap
Desperate
Trashy
Looks ridiculous
Far too revealing
A bit sluttish

It's so fucking depressing for women to be judging another woman, her body and clothing choices like this. People who have said things like this, especially the "sluttish" comment need to really think about what message your words are conveying?

We are all women, our bodies are pretty amazing (well mine doesn't work that well) and what we choose to cover these bodies with is our choice. Shouldn't we be supporting each other to feel like this rather than making comments like OP looks "desperate" (for what exactly?). It's a very short step from there to "she was asking for it in that short skirt" that we really need to leave fucking behind us in 2016.

hownottofuckup · 09/07/2016 19:16

You look absolutely lovely. Wear it and have a fab time.
And Happy Birthday too!

SensitiveThread · 09/07/2016 19:16

Sorry OP I've ranted on your thread but I genuinely thought you looked beautiful and felt very angry with the messages here.

I hope you wear the dress.

DavidPuddy · 09/07/2016 19:20

Definitely wear it!

SteveArnottsLoverPlease · 09/07/2016 19:23

I wish science had worked out how to do a body swap cause I would choose yours Envy

Wear it, drink a little too much, enjoy your birthday, your DH, your friends. You'll not wear this in a nursing home so wear it now!

PigletWasPoohsFriend · 09/07/2016 19:23

Personally no I wouldn't but it's not up to me Wink

Idiotxit · 09/07/2016 19:23

Sensative

You're not wrong.

The 'sluttish' comments are bloody awful.

Paddingtonthebear · 09/07/2016 19:25

I said that dress, in my opinion, was too low cut. I didn't make any comment about the OP other than that she had a fabulous figure.

hollyisalovelyname · 09/07/2016 19:26

It's too revealing I think.

Kennington · 09/07/2016 19:27

It looks great. Perhaps different shoes?

Jaimx86 · 09/07/2016 19:30

It looks gorgeous?

Jaimx86 · 09/07/2016 19:30

I meant
It looks gorgeous!

FortyFacedFuckers · 09/07/2016 19:30

You look stunning op I would definitely wear something like that If I had a figure like that.

NerrSnerr · 09/07/2016 19:31

I agree to what sensitive has said. Some of the comments here are really depressing.

DrRanjsRightEyebrow · 09/07/2016 19:37

Re sewing it up a couple of inches - that was about the balance of the dress design in that I believe the shape would be more aesthetically pleasing for the V to start a fraction higher and be a touch narrower. Not to cover more flesh or be more modest - fuck that, with that figure!

TheresaMarie55 · 09/07/2016 19:38

Really hope you wear the dress and don't alter it at all. It looks amazing on you and you should wear a 'look at me' dress on your birthday hun. I couldn't wear something like this as I have huge boobs but looks great on you

Jmangel · 09/07/2016 19:46

Jesus, you look bloody amazing!
Wear it, wear it and work it.

slinkysaluki · 09/07/2016 19:47

Wear it while you still can is my advice, you look fab x

ArieltheMermaid1720 · 09/07/2016 19:48

Go for it, you look fab. Maybe different shoes though? Oh and a fab clutch and earrings. Have a great time.

squoosh · 09/07/2016 19:48

You have an amazing figure but I really don't like the dress. I'm not a fan of that slashed to the navel look on anyone. It's the kind of thing you'd expect to see on the red carpet of the the Soap Awards.

Nksw · 09/07/2016 19:50

Sensitive, don't apologise at all.

You've made a point that I wanted to say but didn't want to, in case it looked a bit odd coming from the OP, like I was arguing back to feedback/criticism.

I'm really grateful for all the kind comments and also for the constructive criticism!
