3x crew t-shirts arrived today, lovely quality and bargain in the sale. Bought white linen, Navy and Mulberry.

MrBoot I have the 'Porridge' Boden ones from last season. Who'd have throught they'd end up in the sale!?! They are not shiny really, and are just a jeans alternative for me. If its a bit chillier I'll stick them on and not feel like I'm in jeans all summer iykwim?

Black coated, yes I have a lovely FC ones, and they just look a little dressier as some said above.

I have a wedding in Oct and have decided to go mad and try a tulle skirt and little top. I love the idea, but it may not love me.... but if I start the process now I should have time to experiment a bit.

Popped in the the dregs of the LK Bennett sale. Polyester dresses for £150+ - no ta. I have nothing against polyester really, but it was that awful scratchy stuff I've decided I'm not buying anymore.

taybert I think most people haven't really figured out more relaxed cut jeans for Winter, I know I haven't....

April19 · 14/07/2016 13:10

Pinksky, I love that skirt!! What will you wear on top, do u think?

April19 · 14/07/2016 13:12

The yellow and blue one I mean. Didn't see the 2nd skirt when I posted.

CointreauVersial · 14/07/2016 13:14

Taybert - I also retreat into skinnies during the winter - the last couple of years I've been wearing my over-knee boots with them. Wonder if they are still "in"?

Kanye - you can see the cashmere jumper if you just go onto the main Next website and search for "357327". But it still shows there as £95. It's a dreadful photo too!

Nearlyadoctor · 14/07/2016 13:20

Just ordered the Next Cashmere sweater - worth a try at that price!

SayAGreatBigThankyou · 14/07/2016 14:43

taybert the GAP girlfriends are brilliant - I'll be back in skinnies in autumn, but have ordered some skinny flares (not bootcuts ; ) )to try in the Boden sale.
Also ordered these Hush trousers and a cheaper New Look pair.

SayAGreatBigThankyou · 14/07/2016 14:44

And coated jeans? I wear them casually too - to the pub or pizza with friends, but they feel smarter than normal jeans. Think I saw them on here described as Loose Women style which put me off (a bit).

Hopefully · 14/07/2016 16:05

I also can't manage to make relaxed jeans work in winter - it is making my wardrobe have a more definite summer/winter divide than ever before, as I wear totally different tops with boyfriend jeans/harems etc than I do with skinnies.

taybert · 14/07/2016 16:58

Oh good, not just me then. The gap slim fit ones look right about the waist but it's the ankles, nothing is going to go with my mum boots like skinnies!

Oo, also, need some mum boots for Autumn!

BoSelectaBigBiff · 14/07/2016 18:41

Mum boots! Shock But yes, I'm with you on Autumn/winter jeans.

I ordered a couple of Joules harbour tops to try, as I seem to live in striped tops. They arrived today, but they're massive!! Do I need to size down, or do they shrink a bit when you wash them, does anyone know?!

I think the suede jacket I linked to earlier might be a keeper - lovely soft suede Smile

pinkskyinthecity · 14/07/2016 19:30

April19 Ideally, a taupe or mustard cotton or viscose top tucked in. Nothing too tight. Did you see the earlier one I posted that was in the other colourway? I kinda am rethinking the flowery one now, so maybe I might go with the dark blue spotted one. I like the granny-look actually.

LaConnerie · 14/07/2016 19:33

Bo that suede jacket looks fab - if it was grey I would nab it, tan just doesn't suit me Sad. The sleeves aren't long enough for the model in the pic though...

taybert · 14/07/2016 19:48

I'm only messing with the mum boots, it's just I don't think I've ever seen a pair of boots discussed on here that someone hasn't decided are mum boots so mine must be!

Nearlyadoctor · 14/07/2016 21:02

Bo re the Joules harbour tops, I do find they shrink a bit - and I don't tumble dry so that's not the reason!

nickdrakeslovechild · 14/07/2016 21:04

BoSelectaBigBiff I have 2 of the harbour tops and they have both shrunk a bit. Just bought a 3rd the 8 was tight and the 10 was huge on the new style ones in, so I hope this 10 shrinks a bit. I wonder if they have changed the sizes a bit?

I ordered the navy pleather M&S Biker Jacket and I hate it, its going straight back.

BoSelectaBigBiff · 14/07/2016 21:17

Thanks for the feedback on the harbour tops. Interesting that they do shrink a bit, but I'm not sure that they'd shrink quite enough for me. So I think I might return them for now, and maybe try to visit an actual shop (does anyone actually do that these days?!) to see if the size smaller is ridiculously small or not.

taybert, I'm relieved to hear that re: mum boots Grin I have my eye on a pair of Hudson apisi boots for Autumn - S&B threads have made me a bit paranoid that they might be mum boots though(!)

On another note, does anyone know where I might be able to find a cropped black jumpsuit a bit like this one? I might go shopping tomorrow instead of doing staying in and doing housework, as I have a party to go to on Saturday night, and although I have a dress that I was going to wear, I've become irrationally obsessed with wanting to wear a jumpsuit instead.

Floisme · 14/07/2016 22:02

Don't know what I'll do about autumn jeans. I really don't fancy going back to skinnies - I'm bored to tears with them so I may try and find boots that work with a relaxed leg or just stick to skirts and dresses for a few months. I suppose I may change my mind cos skinnies are so easy in the wet and the cold but then so are wellies and I don't look forward to wearing them either.

I can't help with jumpsuits I'm afraid Bo but I'm sure there'll be someone along who can.

KanyesVest · 14/07/2016 22:33

Are the legs too wide on this Ben de Lisi one?. I tried it a while back and loved it.

MrBoot · 15/07/2016 00:33

Cointreau My striped black and azure skirt arrived with the azure t-shirt. Unfortunately it will be going back. I don't have the legs for the skirt and my hips are too wide so it looks an odd shape on me and my bum looks very big I was tempted to keep it as I like the 'outfit' but then thought would I go into town meeting friends I wanted to impress wearing it and thought no. Such a pity as it is a nice simple easy outfit.

I'd like to keep the t-shirt as I really like both the fit and colour but apart from black trousers, what else would look good with the t-shirt? I think the blue is too near denim blue to wear with blue jeans.

BoSelectaBigBiff · 15/07/2016 06:22

Ooh, thank you kanye - that looks lovely. Definitely worth a try.

niminypiminy · 15/07/2016 10:40

Possibly not for a party but I really liked this jumpsuit in the Poetry catalogue that arrived yesterday. (And I hated pretty much everything else - drapey clothes in maungy colours, and very expensive.)

Dancergirl · 15/07/2016 10:45

Have just ordered this Joules dress:

www.joules.com/Women/Dresses/Marie/Jersey-Dress/Soft-Navy-Stripe?id=U_MARIE|SOFNVST

niminypiminy · 15/07/2016 10:48

Mind you, you'd have to have very wide shoulders to make it work. True of so many garments, I find. If you've got narrow shoulders it's almost impossible to find a coat or jacket that fits properly - particularly if you've also got hips. I don't think I've ever had a coat or jacket that wasn't too big on the shoulders.

BoSelectaBigBiff · 15/07/2016 11:56

No luck with jumpsuits today, but I did end up buying this spotty dress for work instead. I usually struggle with wrap dresses, as they reveal rather too much cleavage, but this one was just right.
