Thank you one and all. I will be wearing my jacket today, even if there's a heatwave (although somehow I think I'll be ok). If you see me, say hello.

Hopefully I've found Toast Ts very good and their sale is on. They have heard of colour too.

Hopefully · 05/07/2016 09:15

Ooh, Toast quite often do my colours (HoC Autumn), will have a look there too.

Dancergirl · 05/07/2016 10:48

hopefully which colour did you get? I bought the red one recently but am not sure about it. And it makes me look a bit top heavy.

Dancergirl · 05/07/2016 10:54

Ordered the Banana Republic dress Smile

What does everyone think about these Whistles shorts:

hippiedays · 05/07/2016 11:12

I spent a fortune on the Hush sale last night, I suspect half of it will be returned. Then I'm going to bow out of this thread. I'm broke from it.

Dancergirl · 05/07/2016 11:19

Grin hippie what did you buy? I'm tempted to have a look today.

Hopefully · 05/07/2016 11:23

I went for red too dancer. Would have got khaki if it was reduced. Can imagine those shorts being good if you have that Taylor Swift ingenue sort of vibe going on. They would be dire on me (imagine the polar opposite of Taylor Swift).

hippiedays · 05/07/2016 11:49

I can't link as on phone Dancer, but the main thing was the blue maxi tile print skirt (I am 5 ft 2 and have never worn a maxi in my life but love the print), basic racer back long vests (I use them for layering), long sleeve raglan tshirts (loved the turquoise colour but only cause left when I went to checkout so bought it just in case it is huge and bought the coral in size small) and the poppy and red print scarf. Nothing very exciting. I find Hush sizing a little odd so I'm certain (hoping) a lot will go back.

SeekEveryEveryKnownHidingPlace · 05/07/2016 11:53

Hopefully I have that dress in stripy and in black, and I wear both all the time - I hope you'll be glad you went for it!

I'm holding off on the Hush sale because they usually discount a bit more - and as there's nothing I'm mad for, it'll be a case of 'it wasn't meant to be' if my sizes are gone.

I think. Or I may have bought the coated skirt before the day is done Wink

Hopefully · 05/07/2016 18:04

Well it's been dispatched, so I'll know soon!

Am holding off placing the H&M order that I want to do as have shopped waaaaaay too much recently and need to dial it back a bit.

CointreauVersial · 05/07/2016 18:56

ALERT

The infamous faux leather biker jacket is reduced in the M&S Sale, down to £32. Not a huge selection of sizes left, but I might have just ordered the midnight blue....

I'm very tempted by one of the Hush ruched skirts, but nothing else takes my fancy thank goodness

And I must admit to a couple of sneaky and utterly downmarket purchases in Lidl this afternoon. Some ridiculously cheap and really rather OK boyfriend jeans; also some mid-blue slouchy linen blend joggers which I am hoping will form the lower half of my outfit when we fly out to LA next month. I haven't yet decided if they are "off duty supermodel" or "post-menopausal mum in comfy slacks"....

Freshprincess · 05/07/2016 20:51

Grrrrr, M and effing S. I've dithered about those jackets for weeks, bought 4 on Saturday to try (will only keep one) at full price.

Freshprincess · 05/07/2016 20:52

Although I could keep the pink one and the blue for not much than I paid full price Wink

Nearlyadoctor · 05/07/2016 21:02

Was just about to be thoroughly pi....... Off re M&S jacket but thankfully black isn't in the sale.

Barbour coat arrived today both stylish and practical so definately a keeper.

Now must really stop spending - no money for food this week Grin

JohnCheese · 05/07/2016 21:46

Going through my 3,000,000 promo emails. I thought someone might like these shoes from Finery, great reduction. I'm not keen on the colour but like the style.

Freshprincess · 05/07/2016 21:52

Not sure if I like them because they're nice or because they're £20. That is a well worn path for me

LittleMissWagtail · 06/07/2016 16:23

I know it doesn't get mentioned mich on here but I got this lovely shirt in Massimo Dutti. www.massimodutti.com/gb/sale/shirts-%26-blouses/denim-effect-large-blouse-c1265513p6954665.html?colorId=443&categoryNav=1265513 Not often lucky in MD as the cut is a bit narrow for my broad shoulders but this is much less formal than it looks and will look great over a pair of shorts in the evenings on my French beach holiday - and bizarrely, it was cheaper in euros, where I live, than in sterling.

wiltingfast · 07/07/2016 08:37

I like massimo too. Got a great linen shirt in the sales. Was v pleased with myself Smile

Hopefully · 07/07/2016 11:21

I never think to look in MD, but the odd time I go to Brighton and look in there (mind you, it's been so long that the shop may not even be there any more) I always really like it. I think I'd shop there more if I had a proper job where I had to look smart.

Eagerly awaiting the arrival of new metallic copper birkenstocks, Hush sale order and some American Apparel t-shirts. They will obviously solve all my wardrobe needs and I will never need to shop again. Until tomorrow.

Dancergirl · 07/07/2016 13:27

What does everyone think about this jumper from Hush? I can't decide:

SeekEveryEveryKnownHidingPlace · 07/07/2016 13:30

dancer I like it - that colour is unaccountably awful on me, but if it wasn't, I'd wear it!

LaConnerie · 07/07/2016 14:03

I like it too - but beige makes me look ill. Actually I think they've put that big blue scarf on the model because it doesn't suit her either!

Dancergirl · 07/07/2016 14:07

I have no idea which colours suit me, I just buy the colours I like!

How can you tell? So I have pale skin, dark hair and brown eyes....??

LaConnerie · 07/07/2016 14:15

Dancergirl I had my colours done years ago - it was good but tbh it only told me the things I already knew - which is that bright, deep colours suit me and pale, pastel colours don't, mainly. I'm a Winter, so I suit navy, royal blue, deep red, burgundy, black, etc. If I have ever made the mistake of buying something in a pastel shade or beige, I just look ill.

I also have dark hair and brown eyes, but it also depends on your skin tone. I have olive skin, which is fair until the summer (what summer?!) when I tan really easily. Do you have a preference for jewellery colour? I don't wear much gold as it kind of clashes with my almost 'yellowy' skin - silver/platinum looks much better on me.

Also I remember being told your skin tone can be decided by looking at the veins on the inside of your wrist - if they look blue, you have a 'cool' skin tone (Winter or Summer) - if they look green, you have 'warm' skin (Spring and Autumn).

If that beige sweater suits you, you're probably an Autumn or Spring!

this is an interesting article, if you're not asleep by now... Grin

SeekEveryEveryKnownHidingPlace · 07/07/2016 14:42

I just know I look like death in beige and light brown - and white's a bit dodgy unless I'm really tanned!

I'm not especially pale, have light brown hair and blue eyes, so I don't know why this is so, but I always end up regretting anything pale!

Based on the post above, I guess I'm a Winter or Summer - not that I know what colours that means I should be wearing!
