I didn't really look into it properly, will suss it out later. Thanks

BoSelectaBigBiff · 12/07/2016 18:40

Inspired by the recent biker jacket threads, but not sure whether black leather is really 'me', I've just ordered this suede jacket . Not 100% sure about that sort of style in tan suede, though - will reserve judgement until it arrives!

Hagothehills · 12/07/2016 18:44

I've just bought [http://www.clarks.co.uk/p/26118368 these]]. I don't need them but I've wanted them for ages :)

Hagothehills · 12/07/2016 18:51

link fail!

pinkskyinthecity · 12/07/2016 20:48

I really wanted this last weekend when I discovered this brilliant site:

www.monshowroom.com/en/zoom/bellerose/veste-cuir-suede-cognac-ispah/246752?taille_gal=S

but it was in Small and only one left (now sold!) and I needed a Medium. I'm so gutted now, I don't think I'll find anything like this again - not unless you guys can keep your eyes peeled for something similiar (colour and design)

pinkskyinthecity · 12/07/2016 20:53

I'm still dithering about biker jackets too, BoSelecta but I only want soft buttery leather and less zippery. I'm also torn between the biker-look or go collarless, as I'm not sure about the off-centre zip and the lapels at the sides whereas the collarless look would make it more versatile but my neck would get cold and then I'd be forced to wear a scarf all the time. What do you think? I can't stretch to affording two jackets. I'm thinking of spending around £200+ What do you lot think?

Just ordered the above to collect and am wondering if this is too mumsy or older? I like the colours and fabric. What's more it has pockets!

Freshprincess · 12/07/2016 21:50

nice javket £12.95 for delivery though!

Nearlyadoctor · 12/07/2016 21:52

Pink sorry but I think more granny than mumsy!

CointreauVersial · 12/07/2016 22:12

BoSelecta - That's a gorgeous jacket.

Fresh - I have a similar jacket, which was a hand-me-down from DSM; I'm never sure if I like it or not.

LittleMissWagtail · 13/07/2016 15:47

Bah! I have never seen so much crap in the sales! I live abroad, though with very similar shops - Zara, H&M, Mango, Cos, etc, etc......... but there is so much tat on offer I haven't spent any money. I really want some quite casual tops, plain and cut to flatter my monster 36G boobs. Am willing to pay a bit for good quality and want something that "skims" rather than "swirls"..........

pinkskyinthecity · 13/07/2016 18:41

Nearly oh, I wasn't sure as I've been swaying towards block colours for a while now rather than go for prints, but couldn't help it. It also comes in this colourway too or is still too old for me (I'm 46yo, btw)?

Chatting about clothes we probably don't need..
Nearlyadoctor · 13/07/2016 19:43

Pink I think it is the pleated style, and the length ( looks as if it will come just below the knee) more than the colourway. Makes me think of old ladies serving in the tea tent - sorry!
It may look much better on - but I'm not convinced... (I'm 44 so similar age to yourself ).

MyNewHobbyIsGin · 13/07/2016 20:58

Flosime I returned the M&S black biker, it felt very thin. I kept it for ages, trying it on every now and again, but couldn't love it.

But then again I also returned the Boden ruched skirt, so you may or may not want to take any comfort from my opinions! (Just call me Dolly. Baaaa!)

Actually speaking of Boden the new catalogue looks really good, and I'm not a fan usually, I've returned everything I've -read about on here- bought, bar a pair of light coloured coated skinnies, which are actually proving quite useful in this non summer.

MyNewHobbyIsGin · 13/07/2016 21:01

Strikethrough fail, clearly!

MrBoot · 13/07/2016 21:33

Speaking of coated jeans, can I please ask what you think of them? I was looking at a black pair recently and was tempted but wondered what is their point? Are they just a dressier denim? Are they supposed to look like faux leather? I can't remember what website they were on but something really appealed too.

KanyesVest · 13/07/2016 21:53

Oh, I like coated skinnies, although black screams Christmas party to me. I've a lovely pair of pearly pink ones that on foot of this I might wear for dinner on Saturday.

I presume no one is interested in links to the fleeces I ordered on mountain warehouse today Wink

MrBoot · 13/07/2016 22:00

But WHAT is so different about them please?

I don't think I will ever get away with wearing pink trousers. My fat thighs would get mistaken for two late sides of ham!

KanyesVest · 13/07/2016 22:13

I think they are just a bit dressier. I wouldn't wear them to work or on the school run, but with a silk top and a pair of heels, they are a less formal but still a bit fancy, alternative for a night out.

CointreauVersial · 13/07/2016 22:29

I have some black coated skinnies - I used to wear them for dressy occasions, but I then decided they were much better dressed down with a denim shirt or big jumper for casual wear. I like the fact that they aren't too shiny/glossy but just a little more interesting than plain black.

I've just had a Next Sale binge, spending £220 on a variety of crap, including some work dresses, a cashmere jumper (£25!), an orange cardi, some random shoes, a burgundy wrap skirt that I already have in grey, and several teeny tiny bikinis for DD1. Would link, but there aren't enough hours in the day; anyway, I expect 95% of it will go back. Or arrive when we are on holiday and sit behind our bins in the rain for three weeks. Hmm

KanyesVest · 13/07/2016 23:10

Oh, cashmere link please, Cointreau?

CointreauVersial · 13/07/2016 23:43

Kanye - I don't know if you'll be able to see it, because I have a VIP sale priority thingy, but it's this one. Catalogue number 357327. I like the block colour sleeves but I ordered a size up so it's not too clingy. Of course, it might be minging, but I have high hopes - my favourite navy cashmere v-neck was also a Next sale bargain.

Floisme · 14/07/2016 07:01

Sorry the jacket didn't work for you MyNewHobby but I admit, kind of comforting to hear as they're resolutely sold out in my colour and size

I agree with you about Boden. I was looking at the catalogue they've just sent me in the bath last night and liking lots of stuff. And they'll probably have to cut me out of the ruched skirt when I'm dead. A bit disconcerting.

taybert · 14/07/2016 07:50

No need to cut you out of it Flo, you can keep wearing it. I wonder if Boden have ever considered a line of ruched shrouds. So flattering.

I'm really liking the slightly relaxed fit of the gap girlfriend jeans and the length is nice for summer. What do people tend to go for in winter? Back to skinnies? I can't see me doing boots with a gap above them. I've mainly been in leggings for the last couple of years but I 've lost some weight and feel I'm getting my style back a bit so I'm ditching them.

KanyesVest · 14/07/2016 09:37

Ah, no I can't. Thanks anyway.
