I hope I have remembered the chosen title correctly - I have used Crem's title (think it was Crem's) as the old thread is full.

Herbs - will be fab to have lots of time en famille in the summer but eek re new job on horizon.

Inspired by CV and Rose I have put 10 things on Ebay. They range from size 10 to 16. WTF.

Re euro sausage game,we have factored in vegetarians. They will be invited to 'handle my sausage' instead.

herbaceous · 28/05/2016 22:19

There is also a 'smell my cheese' round.

NUFC69 · 29/05/2016 06:54

Quite a pleasant morning here, but nowhere near as nice as down south. Gardening this morning, with a touch of bed changing thrown in, but a bike ride this afternoon.

The house suddenly feels much bigger and it's soo peaceful......

Happy Sunday, everyone.

No hangover again this morning despite having had a few - result!

Not tried Aperol or strawberry Pimms or the Lidl cheapy version, but feel I should now! Will have to muster some friends to try them as DH only likes beerHmm

Herbs, your party plans sound fabulous - looking forward to the photos on FB. Who is your DP going as?

herbaceous · 29/05/2016 09:25

He's going as Francois Hollande.

There will be music, dancing, drinking, and all that, after Euroquizion.

I have no hangover either despite my aperol spritzes and following wine. Though feel oddly nervous re cousinly get-together today. May be necking the fizz to get through it...

Cremo · 29/05/2016 11:15

Oh Herbs, we're on your side this afternoon. DLTBGYD.

NU , it must feel like a breath of fresh air having the house to yourselves.
And being able to get on with your own projects. Enjoy your BH.

The sun is out here , but not so warm, so a perfect day to get on with pending jobs outside. Dh finally cut the Serengeti'grass yesterday, so I can do some half-mooning and a bit of painting. have discovered a fabulous wild honeysuckle creeping up the back of the shed. Bonus. Now going to train it over the roof.Smile

Did anyone watch 'Disparu' last night? Quite like it.

motherinferior · 29/05/2016 11:23

CV, you would almost certainly like aperol, as it hits a similar orangey spot to Cointreau and limoncello.

hattymattie · 29/05/2016 11:23

Morning crepies - Mothers' Day here in France, have had rosé already. I don't like the Venecian Spritz except when I was there, I had a Spritz Royale with champagne - that was really nice.

Have sourced petrol so life is reasonably good - I'm still cooking lunch though!

Cremo · 29/05/2016 11:49

How did you find fuel Hatty? A secret eleclerc?Grin

Rosebag · 29/05/2016 12:10

Smell my cheese sounds vaguely fetishistic... Hmm

herbs you sound like you have a great weekend planned. I'm relieved the redundancy thing hasn't knocked you for six too much. With us we were so floored, I couldnt even post about it. Good luck with the fancy dress and the quiz!

molly go you and your svelt activiness. Time we had breakfast, non ?

Lots of hurrahs to beachys DD1's distinction ! I knew first and tilly's DS's football prowess.

Happy Mother's Day, hatty

Yay, NU for an empty house!

I am clad in my robe, awaiting lunch, having swum indoor and out, been in the jacuzzi and sunbathed all morning. I have a massage and a facial booked for this afternoon. DS and DD are on the train from Victoria.... DH is meeting them at the station and hopefully coercing them into the great outdoors and the beach for the afternoon whilst I enjoy not being there. Had a lovely day yesterday with DH and friends walking (a lot) , eating (a very lot) and laughing (a very very lot). Someone tell DH he need to get me away from the DC more often?

Stropperella · 29/05/2016 12:22

Happy Bh Sunday, crepeys. My current BFF, Brian, also sends his best. Everything was going according to plan until I was struck down by some weird gastric lurgy yest afternoon. One of those fun bugs where the ick can't decide which orifice it will adopt as an exit, so you have to keep all your options close by, as it were.

Sounds as though you are having a most excellent time, Rose. Smile

Very well done to your dd1, Beachy. Fab result.
BTM, will be answering your pm shortly Smile
(bleargh, coffee wasn't a good plan after all)

Rosebag · 29/05/2016 12:50

Oh how horribly miserable, stropps Sad Flowers

bigTillyMint · 29/05/2016 13:02

Poor you Stropps. I take it no alcohol was involved in your relationship with Brian?!

Lucky you, Rose - enjoy!

Stropperella · 29/05/2016 14:08

Nope, no alcohol. I just suddenly felt v exhausted yesterday afternoon and went to bed and shortly after that all hell broke loose in my guts. Have sweats, chills and aches. Made it round the field earlier for an incredibly slow dogwalk, but am now back in bed again, feeling sorry for myself. Not least because I have not done any of the work I should have done. Dh kindly volunteered to do a supermarket shop, but now we have a fridge full of gross food that noone will eat apart from him.

NUFC69 · 29/05/2016 14:08

Sounds lovely, Rose. Sounds awful, Stropps. I hope you feel better soon.

I tried, and liked, Aporel when I was in Cyprus last year.

The patio and some of the path is now weed free, but I can hardly move - an afternoon on the sofa beckons me.

Cremo · 29/05/2016 14:10

Oh Stropps , hope it goes through you quickly as it were. Poor thing!

Rose, that all sounds most perfect.Star
Yes, you must allow removal from family stresses as often as humanly possible.Flowers

bigTillyMint · 29/05/2016 16:31

I have been in your locale this afternoon Addle and Lalsy - drinking coffee in a cool cafe in the "village" (had to go to H+M) whilst advising DD on clothing buys (in Oxford!) on my phone! Now home watching old episodes of Rhoda - anyone else have a shoulder bag made from old jeans? Grin

herbaceous · 29/05/2016 18:01

In an uber in the way home from cousinly get together. It was GREAT. So lovely to see them all again, especially make cousin, who I wanted to marry when younger. He's now a dishy gp in Cornwall. My parents had planned to come, via a 1.5 hour taxi ride each way, but mum wasn't well a real shame - it was her brother's 89th birthday party.

bigTillyMint · 29/05/2016 18:21

Glad you had a lovely time, HerbsSmile Shame your parents couldn't make it.

DS has persuaded us to go out for a curry...

Auriga · 29/05/2016 18:58

Aunt's funeral went as well as it could have done. DSis1 stood in for me as pall-bearer. Warm, personal ceremony, unusual for a crem in my experience. Still quite an ordeal, so soon after DM's but glad we could all be there to support cousins because that's what helped us. Flights were horribly delayed both ways, so I'm well behind on sleep.

Have done little today apart from walk dog and listen to one of DH's friends rambling and ranting on the phone for over 1.5 hours about the end of his marriage. Didn't have the strength to cut him off. He's done this five or six times since his wife walked out in March. Not once has he asked how we are. He still doesn't know my mother is dead. There's no room for anything else in his head Sad

Hope everyone has a chance to enjoy the bank holiday w/e.

Auriga · 29/05/2016 18:59

PS Stropps, get well soon x

MrsSchadenfreude · 29/05/2016 19:08

Stropps, hope you are feeling better and a bit less squirty now.

DD1 has gone off to her prom and apparently a prom party afterwards. DH under instructions to pick her up after midnight. I don't worry about what she might get up to as thankfully she is nothing like I was at her age. GrinBlush

We have been to Waitrose today. (Living the dream, clearly.)

Quite excited about my work trip this week, and hooking up with an old friend there.

motherinferior · 29/05/2016 19:21

Auriga, love, take care.

Hope you and Brian are now less intimate, Stropps.

bigTillyMint · 29/05/2016 19:53

Oh AurigaFlowers Hoping for some good news/times for you now.

MrsS, prom on a Sunday??? And she hasn't finished her Bac yet, has she?
