I hope I have remembered the chosen title correctly - I have used Crem's title (think it was Crem's) as the old thread is full.

Herbs - will be fab to have lots of time en famille in the summer but eek re new job on horizon.

Inspired by CV and Rose I have put 10 things on Ebay. They range from size 10 to 16. WTF.

Don't worry, Molly, I think I'll get over it. Wink

Brighton's a great town for the young and un-crepey. DD1 is going there for a GCSE art trip next month.

No rain here, although yesterday it was in the forecast. Quite fancy a cheeky G&T myself, but DS is off to a party and I'm on pick-up duty. Boo.

On the bright side, DD2 has been beavering away in the kitchen recreating her last few cookery lessons. For dinner we will be having Spaghetti Bolognaise followed by Bakewell Tart and custard. And I haven't lifted a finger. Mmmm....

hattymattie · 28/05/2016 18:23

Beachy - congrats to DD. Great news.

NU - You were ahead of me there. Have just Googled about the children's party. We did have some spectacular lightening. I have to admit though, my main concern was getting back in time to get my washing inBlush

StealthPolarBear · 28/05/2016 18:26

I never come on these threads being neither stylish nor beautiful but just had to compliment uou on the thread title :)

MrsSchadenfreude · 28/05/2016 18:32

That park in Paris was our local! We lived just down the road from it and went to several parties there! Shock

Congrats to clever drawing DD, Beachy. I was so bad at art at school, I wasn't allowed to do CSE.

Dreamqueen · 28/05/2016 18:54

Cv good luck with the new lens, hope they work out for you. i've never tried contacts but now love wearing quirky glasses. it's a shame that your not that old varifocals are redundant.

MrsS love your description of the young man. made me smile.

Lunchtime - 7yo birthday party in adventure playground. Afternoon - drinks in industrial estate, home of Mothers' Ruin gin emporium. Discovered Aperol spritzers. This could be the end of civilisation as we know it.

And now, a Thai takeaway en route.

Top hole.

Well done on being thinner, Molly. And well done Beachygal. My dad went to Sussex uni when it was Brighton Tech!

motherinferior · 28/05/2016 19:27

Well done Beachygirl! And way to go Molly!

Herbs, I too have discovered the joys of aperol...

Cremo · 28/05/2016 19:38

Dreamqueen · 28/05/2016 19:57

I love an aperol spritz too Herbs

herbaceous · 28/05/2016 19:58

Maybe our next title could be 'the crepe escape' as it will be roughly holiday time?

BeachysSandyFlipFlops · 28/05/2016 19:59

She's doing the Fine Art Painting degree. That would be great, Crem......

What does aperol taste of? I keep seeing it and want to try it, but worried it might be like that hideous aniseed stuff.

Dh bought strawberry Pimms yesterday, so might have a snifter of that!

GiddyGiddyGoat · 28/05/2016 20:19

It's bitter beauty in a delicious sort of a way... if you like Campari and the like you'd probably be in the Aperol fan club... It could be the Crepey drink of choice Summer 2016... after all the hipsters moved on from it a year or so ago... #latetothepartycrepeys

GiddyGiddyGoat · 28/05/2016 20:19

Biter beauty sounds rather poetic - but I meant bitter Beachy..

Cremo · 28/05/2016 20:22

Tis the cocktail of Venice so have tested a few there. Bitter, vermouth-ish Beachy. Good colour! Venetians drink with chiccetti ( italian tapas) while strolling about nonchalantly in sunglasses and fur-coats (winter)

Cremo · 28/05/2016 20:23

Hmm Ggg , am thinking Party??

Cremo · 28/05/2016 20:27

APEROL SPRITZ
ICE AND A SLICE OF ORANGE
3 PARTS OF PROSECCO
2 PARTS OF APEROL
1 SPLASH OF SODA

herbaceous · 28/05/2016 20:31

WHY ARE YOU SHOUTING, CREM?

It is bitter, though not as bitter as campari. Campari for wimps, if you like. A nice grown-up taste, while remaining pleasant. No hint of aniseed. Can't abide aniseed.

Friend I met at kiddy birthday party gave me lots of tip top marketing ides for my grammar course. All I have to do now is do it...

I'm wanted downstairs for further Euroquizion scripting.

BeachysSandyFlipFlops · 28/05/2016 20:34

Strawberry Pimms is very sweet, in a sort of Princess Kylie sort of way Smile

Herbs, can i just say what a brilliant idea the euro quiz iz. Im stealing that for next family party. The sausage game is splendid. ( veggies could use cheese i supposeGrin)
I want to see u as Angela

MrsSchadenfreude · 28/05/2016 21:17

Do Aldi or Lidl do a fake Aperol yet? Aldi's Fake Pimms (think it is called Austin's) came top in a Which? taste test - the testers couldn't tell it apart from the real thing.

Can recommend the Threepenny Opera. Absolutely brilliant. We got the last two tickets for the matinee and were the youngest in the audience (went with DD1) by a good 20 years (me). But all the oldies got up and left before the end - so they are about to start the last song, and the whole row got up and left in dribs and drabs. I wanted to tell them they were being rude and to sit down and be quiet, but maybe Joan's Tena Lady needed changing?

CointreauVersial · 28/05/2016 21:26

DQ - I am most definitely NOT a quirky glasses fan. I like my glasses to pass under the radar. In fact, my biggest challenge while choosing frames today was finding some without ostentatious branding / diamante encrustations / kerr-azy coloured arms and the like. I enlisted the help of a young man from Specsavers, and eventually settled on a pair not dissimilar to what I have now - plain black. The good thing about hating branding is that I'm stuck with Specsavers' own brand which are cheap! I came away with two pairs of varifocals (regular and sun) with all the coatings etc. for £235. Which isn't toooooo bad.

Never tried Aperol either, but I'd probably like it, because I am a lush.

By the way, DD2's Bakewell Tart was, in the words of Michael Winner, "historic". DH and I were overcome by greed and finished the whole thing.

magimedi · 28/05/2016 22:09

An Americano has become my No 1 drink.

Equal measures of Campari & red vermouth (pick a good one). Lots of ice, splash of soda & a slice or orange.

Sluuuuuuuuurp!!

Lalsy · 28/05/2016 22:15

Addle was onto Aperol last year I think Grin. The pop up up the road from me is doing Aperol Spritzers i happy hour at the moment....

Well done miniBeachy, that is brilliant!

And Molly, congrats on ladyhike and twirliness Smile.

Retreived a rather exhausted and grubby dd from station today!

Lalsy · 28/05/2016 22:18

Magi, that sounds very nice....I like Campari with blood orange juice and lots of ice. Or with soda.
