I hope I have remembered the chosen title correctly - I have used Crem's title (think it was Crem's) as the old thread is full.

Herbs - will be fab to have lots of time en famille in the summer but eek re new job on horizon.

Inspired by CV and Rose I have put 10 things on Ebay. They range from size 10 to 16. WTF.

Happy Saturday, everyone.
Herbs, that's a bugger of a bit of news re: dp's work. Hope he's got a good redundancy package and all that.
MM, your dh's aunt is extremely lucky that she has you and your dh looking after her. I'm sorry to hear that she is fading.
Dd had her last official day of school yesterday. She has barely bothered to go in since the beginning of term, but ambled in there just before midday for their final assembly. And then brought BFF home for ice cream, pizza and 7up. Just (har) 10 exams to do and then she can call it a day. And I have a 2-year break before I have to have anything to do with that school again.
Ds has been selected as one of 10 pupils at his school who are guineapigs for the new science SATs. He has to do the tests on the first Wed after half-term. He is not terribly pleased.
I hereby confirm my status as the trashiest Crepey with the news that I had my ancient tattoo re-inked yesterday.
Today, I have to drag dd to the bank to open a grownup bank account, and then I have to work this afternoon. Bank holiday? Eh?

Stropperella · 28/05/2016 08:55

Ooh, BTM, very well done to your ds. He is really doing brilliantly! CakeFlowers

bigTillyMint · 28/05/2016 09:15

Morning Crepesters!

MrsS, I would take the "Mrs Robinson" nick-name as a compliment as long as he doesn't know anything he shouldn'tWink

StroppsShock re the tat! Good luck with the bank-account-opening. Your DD's last day sounds very sensible - DD had tales of the Y13's getting drunk in the morning at her sixthform can't remember anything like that happening in my day

MrsSchadenfreude · 28/05/2016 09:48

Herbs - DH/H yearns for redundancy. But I am not sure what he would do if he got it. Apart from, perhaps, moan that he had no job.

Hair is darker - it is supposed to be lighter but not a bad colour. And as I've made an effort and blow dried it, it looks quite nice.

Loving that Stropps has had her tattoo reinked. I am still contemplating a nipple piercing. I doubt DH would notice...

Re the young man - I don't think he does find me attractive at all. He certainly doesn't do it for me. He's the sort of grubby individual who looks like he goes home for a ready meal and a wank in the evening.

dudsville · 28/05/2016 09:54

I don't know who you are and what you guys talk about (although I've always been curious!) but I've just clicked to say it's a fabulous thread title.

bigTillyMint · 28/05/2016 09:57

MrsSGrinGrinGrin

Well done, CV - you have a thread-title fanGrin

DD is on a coach with a hangoverGrin She has no water and no sick bag - fingers crossed!

herbaceous · 28/05/2016 10:04

Another friend got made redundant, much to his delight, but five months later still hasn't got a new job, and has blown his payoff on frivolities such as a glass-making course in Devon.

We are amusing ourselves creating a Euro-based pub quiz for DP's 40th (I know) birthday party (which will be just after the referendum). I shall be dressed as Angela Merkel, and remain straight-faced throughout. Rounds are going to include 'sample my sausage' (teams guess the country of origin of a variety of saucisson, salami and wurst), 'guess the Eurocrat' (five faceless men in grey suits) and 'Up Yours Delors', which will be a kind of myth/truth round about Euro laws, such as straight bananas. I hope other people will find it amusing, or it could be the most excruciating 30 minutes of our lives.

MrsSchadenfreude · 28/05/2016 10:07

Maybe you could have an "I'm only here for the beer" round, Herbs? Might go down well?

motherinferior · 28/05/2016 10:24

Herbs, you truly are MrsRobinson Wink.

I have been contemplating a small tatt, I must admit, but will prob comprise for now with another ear piercing.

Lalsy · 28/05/2016 10:34

Think that sounds excellent, Herbs.

MrsS, I'd find Mrs Robinson insulting too, think you did right thing to call him on it.

Like the sound of dd's last day, Stropps.Smile. Hope you can get a bit of BH fun.

CointreauVersial · 28/05/2016 14:42

Grin at MrsS's grubby colleague. He's not exactly Dustin Hoffman, then?

I'm just back from the optician (on balance, a plate of oniony Indian Scrambled Eggs for brunch beforehand maybe wasn't the best idea #halitosis Blush).... He imparted the alarming news that because I haven't been wearing my gas permeable lenses daily for the last few months (they make my eyes so sore) my eyeballs have completely changed shape, and my astigmatism is back with a vengeance. Which is why I can't see properly any more - my year-old varifocal specs are now completely the wrong prescription. Confused I have to go back later this afternoon for a full eye-test, then he will order some soft toric lenses for me to try. But I will still need reading glasses. Sad

bigTillyMint · 28/05/2016 15:15

Oh no CVShock - that's not good.

Sitting to the sun in a local cafe on my own - #theholidauishere!

hattymattie · 28/05/2016 15:21

CV - I'm considering having laser surgery - I think they can correct one eye for myopia and one for reading. I haven't been able to wear lenses since I had children as my eyes feel too dry. Let me know how you get on.

Here the school fete went swimmingly up to 2.30 when we had thunder, lightning and torrential rain. Am now curled up on the sofa with a book.

bigTillyMint · 28/05/2016 15:36

They have school fetes in France, Hatty?!

hattymattie · 28/05/2016 15:42

Oh yes - with cake stalls, games, tombola, the lot.

BeachysSandyFlipFlops · 28/05/2016 16:14

Aaaah, no children..... so I'm gardening and dh is mowing the lawn. So dull! I think we are due to get your thunder soon, Hatty. Dd2 has gone camping with a friend's family up in the hills, so that could be eventful. Dd1 got her results for her Art Foundation - Distinction. Obviously can draw after all Grin

Love your party idea, Herbs - selection of cross European beers and wines as well..... Pin the flag on the country, maybe. Or pin the flag on the European delegates head? Sorry to hear about dh and redundancy. Do throw him into the Great Crepey Careers advice service. We may have connections between us?

I think a little lying in the sun may be needed shortly and may take the dogs down to the beach to cool off.

motherinferior · 28/05/2016 16:43

I have had a fairly fruitless but enjoyable charity trawl with DD1. Also we bought cake. And Posh Crisps. And prosecco.

And I did 500 words this morning and must do some background reading now...

bigTillyMint · 28/05/2016 16:58

Beachy, that's fantastic - really well done your DD1StarStarStar Did you say she is planning to go on yo a different uni?

Sounds like a lovely outing MI. I could just go some prosecco now....

BeachysSandyFlipFlops · 28/05/2016 17:14

Yes BTM, she's off to Brighton for three years. Close enough to home, but far enough away and a great course.

NUFC69 · 28/05/2016 17:55

I have just been reading on the BBC website about the thunderstorm in Paris, Hatty. How awful about those poor children; what a horrible experience it must have been. I hope they recover ok

Well done to DS, BTM, with his footie.

I hope the DC doing exams can do a little relaxing this week before the next onslaught.

I am admiring my nails - I love right pink on my toes. I have tried CND gel on my fingers in the hope that it will last longer than four days.

NUFC69 · 28/05/2016 17:57

Sorry, I missed that about DD, Beachy - well done to her.

Collymollypuff · 28/05/2016 17:59

CV, sorry to have repeated the wrong attribution of the thread title, and lol at random MNers appearing to say how fab it is. Grin Star

I've done a 7-mile ladyhike. This is in training for next weekend when I have to do an 8-mile hike up Cleeve Hill, Glos. (BD, I shall give you a wave from the top...hope you are OK.)

Beachy - uni in Brighton! What could be nicer - what a fab location; I've always thought so; friends were there.

bigTillyMint · 28/05/2016 18:09

Beachy, is that the same as Sussex uni? A friend's DS is there and is really enjoying it. Brighton is fab despite being overrun with tourists in the summer

Crikey, just seen that Paris newsShock

Molly, I am impressed - well done you! Maybe you can show me your skills in BP sometime soonGrin

Having a cheeky G&T whilst DH and DS are watching footy in the pub - off to meet friends with DH later for a few more.

Collymollypuff · 28/05/2016 18:11

Yes, BTM, and I am thinner so have less blubber to heave up hills.

bigTillyMint · 28/05/2016 18:15
Grin

Sadly, I'm not! Good job I'm not planning on hiking up any hills in the near futureGrin
