I hope I have remembered the chosen title correctly - I have used Crem's title (think it was Crem's) as the old thread is full.

Stropps, she so has, especially given she got in the habit of not going to school - I think her strength is remarkable. Grrr for you re dh.

dd back from electioneering, with trench foot but big smile - says everyone was lovely and huge range of backgrounds, ages etc, all working well together. She was quite lit up.

MrsSchadenfreude · 23/06/2016 23:03

Yep, still here , if you need us Rudy. Smile

We had a spectacular waterfall flood in the office today - lots of people rushing about with tiny, useless buckets.

I am a fantastically light packer. And not because I always forget pants. For meds I pack Ibuprofen, something with codeine, blister plasters and, err, that's it. And sanpro and contact lens stuff. After three years in West Africa, I have never needed laxatives either. Or Anusol. Are the two related? Confused

I must have known Jeremy Kyle when he was at school, but have no recollection of him whatsoever. He must have been one of the small, weedy, insignificant ones, rather than the 6 foot rowers I went for. Grin A friend of mine was at school with Nigel Farage and doesn't remember him at all either.

Lalsy · 23/06/2016 23:13

Rudy, hello x

Morniny rudy. Dear God. Don't think I really thought it could happen. Looks like we're out, Wales is out, Scotland and NI in.

MrsSchadenfreude · 24/06/2016 05:40

Noooo. Have said all along that we would be out, but was still hopeful it wouldn't happen.

motherinferior · 24/06/2016 05:42

MrsSchadenfreude · 24/06/2016 05:47

At least it's sunny, MI.

I bet the Brexiteers all moan when they go and get their Euros for their holidays in Benidorm.

Blackduck · 24/06/2016 05:49

addle · 24/06/2016 05:59

addle · 24/06/2016 06:19

bigTillyMint · 24/06/2016 06:28

OMG. I kind of expected it, but was still hopingSad

Yes addleSad

But on another note, Stropps, your DD has done absolutely amazingly to keep on turning up to each exam and trying her best. That shows such a lot of progress. Am crossing everything that she gets decent results for her next stepStarStarStar

hattymattie · 24/06/2016 06:28

I am crying and actually ashamed of my country. Bang goes DS's chance of study in the UK.

addle · 24/06/2016 06:53

Strops - yes, your DD has shown real guts over this. Got to stand her in good stead.

Oh Hattie Sad

BeachysSandyFlipFlops · 24/06/2016 06:54

I can't believe it Sad

MontserratCaballe · 24/06/2016 07:02

Stropps, your Dd has shown amazing strength and courage with these exams. You have been the most supportive mother too. I hope both of you can rest up a little and that dd will have done enough to get onto the next step. Flowers for you both.

I was hoping it would be "phew" this morning, like after the Scottish referendum. They'll be off now too of course. I feel a bit sick and surprisingly tearful. Completely ghastly. Lambeth was 79% remain. What a pity it wasn't enough.

Corbyn's got to go. WTF was he during this campaign? Sitting on the fucking fence. Just watching him on the news. Pathetically trying to curry favour now with BrexitersAngry

magimedi · 24/06/2016 08:30

I am devastated.

But - it is only an advisory referendum. The results do not make for a mandate for leaving.

Interesting article about this here

Hatty It will take at least two years for us to leave - hope that is enough time for your DD to get into UK education.

Got back from a lovely holiday in Corfu on Tuesday. It's a beautiful island, very lush & verdant. Highlight of my holiday was seeing a golden eagle and having my binoculars with me so got a great view. There was a group of about 12 women all on holiday in the same resort who I (to myself) named them as 'The Crepeys'! They were having such a good time!

Had to go to aunt's funeral yesterday - it was pretty grim & not helped by the weather. Beachy will appreciate what I drove through - nearly 4 hours to get home from Portsmouth (65 mile journey) through some of the worst rain/storms I have ever seen.

My sympathy to all of you with AP problems & exam stress. Flowers

MrsSchadenfreude · 24/06/2016 08:47

They will need to get things in order for a Brexit before formally invoking Article 50, which gives 2 years for your departure. This is a huge job, and will require lots of lawyers and civil servants to sort out (not sure how they'll manage that, as there's a recruitment freeze). So around 2 years to get most stuff in order. Then announce departure and use the remaining two years to get everything in order. The EU may demand that Article 50 be triggered immediately, but I am not sure if they can enforce this. If they do, and we go in two years, the irony is that it will be our Presidency in 2017, so this may be our leaving party.

bigTillyMint · 24/06/2016 09:53

MM, when our children were tiny, we went to Tunisia and there were a group of women that we named The Golden GirlsGrin We ended up going to the same hotel 3 times and saw them each time - that is my dream for the futureGrin

Thanks for that, MrsS - very informative.
