Utterly hilarious! I couldn't stop laughing when I saw them. Thanks for bringing to our attention.

PurpleDaisies · 03/03/2016 23:38

I'm worried that the website link will stop working when everyone who's seen them from this thread buys them. They are really special boots.

ColdTeaAgain · 03/03/2016 23:38

Sounds delightful Purple Grin no more chilly ankles!

pinkyredrose · 03/03/2016 23:39

I bet Bjork has a pair Grin

Damn right!

LoisWilkersonsLastNerve · 03/03/2016 23:39

Good gawd! I gasped, then I laughed. I laughed hard. I'm not going to lie, some pee might have came out.

Yohoodlum · 03/03/2016 23:40

Oh my gawd those are beyond a joke. I double checked and it's not a joke

The write up is Shock

Part of the Clarks: Rebooted collection to celebrate 65 years of the iconic Clarks Desert Boot. Studio Toogood’s design ‘The Shepherd’ is a boot for all seasons, incorporating a removable sock that enables the wearer to adapt the boot accordingly and customise their own look by wearing different socks underneath. A Desert Boot reminiscent of a simple past but equally projected towards a sophisticated future.

WTF indeed. I can't believe they weren't having a laugh when they wrote that twaddle.

What the actual fuck are these abominations all about then?
ouryve · 03/03/2016 23:43

They wouldn't look out of place on Ab Fab.

sodabreadjam · 03/03/2016 23:47

I wonder what the poor souls in the Clarks factory think when they are making them.

Clarks shoe designers must be on drugs - also the people who make up the names for the various designs - all quite weird.

Did they manage to sell a single pair at the full price - or even half price?

RedOnHerHedd · 03/03/2016 23:48

Do they make you become a better shepherd? Because boy my shepherding skills could do with a touch up. Bastard sheep have all been made into shepherding boots and I can't find any sheep to shepherd anywhere!

anklebitersmum · 03/03/2016 23:56

they're a 5* review hit in the US Grin

wizzywig · 03/03/2016 23:59

Im trying to laugh silently so the whole street doesnt wake up

RubyFlint · 03/03/2016 23:59

I'll eat my hat if they have them at my local Clarks store. We're a bit behind the times here when it comes to fashion Grin

RubyFlint · 04/03/2016 00:03

ankle that review says "show off your hand knitted socks". I think that speaks volumes.

foffx · 04/03/2016 00:03

I love that USA review.

What socks will you all be customising yours with?

ouryve · 04/03/2016 00:06

Oi! I like my hand knitted socks.

I don't wear them with sandals, mind. I wear them with thick warm boots with the wool on the inside, so that my feet stay warm and toasty.

anklebitersmum · 04/03/2016 00:06

I have such an amazing image of the eclectic 45-54 yr old reviewer wearing them though.. Grin

Whitetulipofpeace · 04/03/2016 00:24

I read the comments before clicking the link and thought that they surely couldn't be that bad. I wept tears of laughter for a good ten minutes and I keep thinking of them and starting again Grin

Innermagic · 04/03/2016 00:24

Desert boot? You would be the laughing stock of the Sahara if you turned up in these. They actually look funnier the more times you click on the link!

nevertakeyouriphoneinthebath · 04/03/2016 00:25
Shock

Jeez, they are BAD. I mean seriously bad.

They did make me burst out laughing though.

PurpleDaisies · 04/03/2016 00:27

This thread has made what has been a pretty crap day miles better. Thank you so much op.

RubyFlint · 04/03/2016 00:29

I know it's hard to tear your eyes away isn't it!

coffeeisnectar · 04/03/2016 00:41

Surely they should be marketing these in some eastern European backwater that 30 years behind in the fashion stakes.

Or Germany.

We haven't even considered the ancient Greek philosopher market. Its not just Shepherds who need occupational sandals.
