Ahhhhh, the season of mists and mellow fruitfulness...if for you that means the joy of cosy jumpers, retrieving your favourite coats and jackets from the back of the wardrobe and an excuse to buy new boots then this is the place for you Smile. Come chat about clothes, make up and accessories, budgets from Primark to Prada. Lurkers, newbies and old hands all welcome.

Lib sorry to hear your day was crappy but great buys, I love R*B footwear those boots are great, I also love the dress too, hope they have helped made your crap day better [flower]

Lovely leather jacket Blair so wish I could wear one. Might take a look at Whistles, it's not somewhere I've bought from before.

shopafrolic · 29/09/2015 20:32

Lovely buys Lib

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 29/09/2015 20:57

Great shopping Lib, both look really versatile. I have never bought anything in Cos!

Kitty I really hope it's perfect, won't be keeping it otherwise. Then I can give my existing one (brown from muu:baa, a bit too relaxed for me) to my Dsis :)
Now is the best time to have a browse at Whistles!

libertydoddle · 29/09/2015 20:58

Saw quite a few lovely things today...

Roll neck sweater for shop

This sweater is great layering piece for work very fine knit, looks and feels lovely. The purple is gorgeous, was very tempted.

Tan and gold cable sweater This looked fab, was too chunky for me.

Loved this dress

Floral short dress I immediately thought Blair when I saw this Smile. Autumn rather then spring colours - v short though!

Navy cotton sweater would suit Linus or Dry. I was sorely tempted by the mustard version.

Finally what do you all think of this Toast dress? I was really drawn to it but wondering if it's PMT haze Smile. Colours don't really show well on the link - very autumnal and warm.

OP posts:
BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 29/09/2015 21:24

Argh Lib it must be the Stories site but none of your links go to actual items! Lovely Cos sweater though.

With the Toast dress, I think it would really depend on the styling. Hate the website styling, but think it could look quite cool with chunky heels of the type you've been hunting for :)

I have had my first Xmas party invite, so have started browsing LBDs as I don't have one. As romantic classic I need luxury and glamour - harder than it sounds! It got me thinking about other LBDs owned by Voguettes. I can think of Marsha's Lanvin, Amber's Self-Portrait and Dry's Sandro. Who else has a lovely black dress they want to talk about? Grin

libertydoddle · 29/09/2015 21:36

Why not just work the Zarita Blair? You look amazing in that. I don't have an LBD sadly. Is QueenC's VW dress she got for her 40th black?

Sorry about the other stories links - what a PITA! I have pinned them all here instead.

OP posts:
BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 29/09/2015 21:40

Because I've worn it to this event before Grin
Nah, I may do, if I decide to be sensible! Browsing is fun though.

I like the print on the rainforest dress but you're right about it being more autumnal. I will be in the store next weekend though so will check it out. Lovely sweaters, I really like their stuff.

Drywhitethanks · 29/09/2015 21:51

liberty I love the R and B boots. You'll wear them loads. Was thinking I could do with tan boots with a lower heel than the v high ones I've got.
Forest green dress is lovely too and I really like AOS jumper you linked for linus and me. Am tempted by mustard, ant Vogueyyes who know me, do you think I could wear it?

Loving the warmer weather but not the foggy mornings have been studying my work collegues' legs Hmm and there are a lot of sheer nude tights going on. Have always been paranoid about "nude" but founded a packet in my tights box and they look, well, nude. Will give them a go tomorrow.

Blair can't beat a LBD, I have many:
-Sandro fit and flare with short sleeves current fav
-A surprisingly fantastic fitted shift, sleeveless, almost racer back, high round neck, gold zip at back, crepe from DP Shock that I've worn loads and been asked whether it's VB Shock. Feel my most sexy in this dress. Adore it.
-A more body con, shift dress, round neck, sleeveless with shoulder padding, below knee from Zara worn to last MU with gold Gigis
-PhaseEight old 3/4 sleeved, skater style black jersey, shortened to just on knee.
I have 2 more, v old but lovely that I haven't worn in years one is probably 20yrs old and not dated at all from Jaeger that I just can't part with, happy memories Smile
Gosh, I do like LBDs......

LinusLovesBretons · 29/09/2015 21:53

I've got that black DvF dress I wore to that wedding in August blair. I think it's called Maddy but I might be wrong and it has these little lace cap sleeves.

Love those R&B boots lib and the forest green dress is such a lovely colour.

I can't get the VB cape lara linked out of my head but it really is the kind of thing you need to try on and I have no idea where they stock VB here.

KittyHello · 29/09/2015 21:55

Blair I have DVF Bentley I find it quite uncomfortable to wear though Confused may give it another outing but it seems to dig in me.

great skirt if you're an autumn I'm toying with the red/grey one.

KittyHello · 29/09/2015 21:57

Ps Blair I think you looked fab in the Zarita. I'd wear it again.

QueenCardi · 29/09/2015 22:03

Evening all. Love the cos dress lib.
Welcome back blair.
I have 3 LBDs...the westwood, a Coast wrap dress which I bought about 6 years ago and has been worn loads and an even older monsoon dress that I adore that I wore to the last evening mu.

Nipped into JL today to buy a freezer and had a browse around. Nothing really caught my eye except a couple of fat face tops, one very similar to the one I was wearing and love. Tried them both on, loved them, bought them but the mirrors must have been those that make you look long and lean because trying them on at home they both make me look wide and dumpy. Needless to say they're going back.

dry I reckon you could do mustard....

QueenCardi · 29/09/2015 22:05

lib I like that toast dress too.

libertydoddle · 29/09/2015 23:11

Kitty I have that Boden skirt in my virtual basket but am spent out after today!

Thanks for all the feedback on the boots and dress - I have been playing with the boots and I think I will wear them a lot - v, v happy. The Toast dress is on my 'watch for sales' list Smile

Dry you could do mustard for sure - I really rate Cos knitwear, have had several things from them and all have washed and worn well. And I wear nude tights a lot especially in this kind of weather. They are tricky though, shade and denier have to be right - the ones I had on today were verging on frump, not quite sheer enough.

I've got my new boots on! Hope you all enjoy this lovely autumn day Smile

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 30/09/2015 07:49

I think i found my holy grail!yes, nude tights that are actually pale enough!! that's the only thing that has put me off wearing them before now as they are generally just so dark i can't wear them without looking ridiculous. I hate having bare legs except in the hottest of weather

AmberNectarine · 30/09/2015 08:21

I have the Self-Portrait, two black Helmut Langs (one wool with an asymmetric neckline, the other jersey high-necked) and my beloved James Perse. Currently have my eye on this.

AmberNectarine · 30/09/2015 08:23

OOTD is dark grey fitted dress from American Apparel (promise this is work appropriate), pale grey DKNY long cardi belted with leopard ponyskin waist belt, opaques, black pointy shoe boots and Chanel bag (and all my crap in Michael kors grey Jetset tote!)

And actually right now I'm wearing my leopard adidas trainers for the commute

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 30/09/2015 08:30

my OOTD is a berry coloured knee length cord skirt, black opaques, black suede ankle boots, grey nirvana tee and a long black, ribbed boyfriend cardigan. will wear my red mac over the top with black wool fingerless gloves and black and white razor print McQueen scarf. may add a black slouchy wool hat depending on how chilly it is when i get outside. all this will be nicely finished off with a red tartan rucksack for all my books and emdication

BerniceBobsHerHairAgain · 30/09/2015 10:06

Your new boots are lovely Lib. I like the Toast dress - I suspect it speaks to our inner hippy (I think we both have one!)

I don't own any LBDs Shock

I know they seem to be the dresses of the moment, but how about Self Portrait Blair? Might fit the romantic classic brief.

A few from the Outnet I can see you in:

low V

Very classic too dull??

Issa

and another Issa

lace

the wild card

I love this for me!

I agree the Me and Em stuff looks lovely but £££. They did have a lot in their sale this summer and I wonder if they have just over inflated their prices.

Dry a lot of the looks in the catalogue made me think of you, very much your style I think.

I love all their stuff in the dark merlot colour.

After all that lovely outnet browsing I feel too casually dressed in skinny jeans, white Arizona birkenstock and oversized patchwork denim shirt. Think today is my last day to wear sandals - feels wrong in October!

Stokey · 30/09/2015 10:20

I also don't really own any LBDs. I've got a smart Reiss one that is great for work and a very tight Desigual one with a pattern on that DM talked me into buying and I've never worn. That's the weird thing my mother does... Wants me to wear much sexier clothes than I do Confused.

Think the Self Portrait stuff would look fab on you Blair

Great buys Lib and loving the AOS stuff, think I'll try and head down there in the next couple of weeks.

I bought a couple of 2nd had things yesterday: a chunky Mango black v-neck boyfriend sweater, which I'm wearing today over skinnies and a checked shirt. And a grey with black stripes J Crew merino wool fitted crew neck jumper, £17 for the pair so was very pleased. I also finally recycled 6 bags of clothes, hurrah.

I'm very casual this week as have been cycling everywhere, with DH away, Dd2 is on the back of my bike and Dd1 is on her own bike, it's actually easier than I expected.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 30/09/2015 11:14

Morning!

Thanks Bernice, I like the L'Agence dress but always worry with a very low front about what my boobs would end up doing Confused

Would a Self-Portrait dress be a bit much with a very statement bag? (Gold glitter Valerie)

Definitely agree that I think of Dry every time I get the Me+Em brochure!

Wow Stokey, 6 bags is impressive. I think Desigual is a bit love or hate but it looks great on some people.

Finally, big purchase news... Exactly a year to the day from last year (as expected!) the Matches £100 off code dropped into my inbox so I have ordered this lush camel coat. (Is it wrong that I'm almost more excited about getting a massive Matches box?!)

Larastheme · 30/09/2015 12:49

That's one gorgous coat blair, and yes all those big boxes from NAP,matches, mytheresa ,are very handy for storing,
I own a vanessa Bruno black beaded chiffon dress,I think its on my pin,

lib love those RB boots, very you,

this is just shocking, if I were chanel I'd take actions, , plus its beyond ugly, or is it a sort of joke?

this is just gorgous, perfect for re-enacting Kate's bush wuthering hieghts music video,

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 30/09/2015 13:46

Laras OMG at the Moschino bag, hideous!

QueenCardi · 30/09/2015 13:59

I don't get moschino at all. All looks so tacky.
Some gorgeous dresses there bernice. I'd love a navy one but it's difficult to find one that isn't too grown up or work-y. And woukd I be able to wear black tights/shoes?
blair lush coat. Totally romantic and classic.
lara did you get my pm?
