I did think you seemed dressed for the arctic today Dry Smile

Marsha good enabling from your dh

One tartan dresses sound really nice. Love a bit of tartan.

MarshaBrady · 15/09/2015 20:59

I really like this Marant scarf but don't think I can do the colours, plus I already have a navy one.
Lib is this autumn and can you do tartan?

libertydoddle · 15/09/2015 21:14

That looks lovely Marsha. It does look autumnal I think. Will ponder it Smile

Now Mara yiu know I can't cope with plaid!

I am sending this MK bag back. It's not as large as I want and it sort of looks too much like s knock of version of one of my Prada bags. Think I will just get a large jetset when it's next discounted.

Also on its way back is this this McQ dress. The wool feels really thin and scratchy and it's not very forgiving. I couldn't have a large meal wearing it so what's the point! Dh saidv(somewhat surprisingly) that I looked nice. Think he's lost his marbles!

This dress is lovely - both colour and fit except the chest area has a small gap so you can see my bra. Going to keep as Dry said it was cheeky!

I had an epiphany a few days ago. I am not buying any new work clothes this season and am just going to concentrate on other things.

Love to you Shop, hope you like links and piccies.

Larastheme · 15/09/2015 22:30

Evening,
shop so glad you are doing ok,hope you are feeling more comfortable, and you get to sleep better tonight Flowers,

linus, my CE flings are not man repeller ,they are the complete opposite of that Wink , the secret is to get them 2 sizes smaller, mine are 24, they just about hug the hips and bum and then the fall straight, and baggy, none of that baggy bum look, my bum always look spectacular when I'm wearing them.

Love all the links,

My ideal fancy dress, would be from 16century,I'm reading about Catherine Medici, and the wars of religion at the moment , and love all the clothes references, ermine fur, velvet, silk embroidered with pearls and valuable stones,

Drywhitethanks · 15/09/2015 22:38

Bought these shoes today.not exactly earth shattering but perfect for work, make my legs look long with opaques and go with everything. CPW will be high. Worth spending a bit more for work shoes.

My dream fancy dress would be 18C MMe Pompadour,/Christian Lacroix, powdered wig, beauty spot etc. discrete ? Moi?!!!! Grin

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 15/09/2015 22:39

ideal fancy dress? I'd love to wear either edwardian or victorian garb. especially victorian mourning jewellery as morbid as that might sound, I've long loved jet and such like

LinusLovesBretons · 16/09/2015 07:04

Morning!

Love those shoes dry! Perfect for work.

one I think jet is making a bit of a comeback in jewelry. My DM recently bought a Pommellato pendant and earrings with caved out jet set in rose gold.

lara I tried the size 25 (and the 24 but I could only just close the button) but they were still a bit meh on me. Maybe it was the wash as well as they only had the lighter washes in the shop.

blingy if you're not going to buy any more work clothes what are you looking to buy? Do you have any gaps in your casual wardrobe?

Today I am wearing skinnies, heattech, Ralph Lauren cashmere jumper and my Choo bikers as it's pouring outside.

It's my first time wearing my bikers and I can't wait as I just love them. They are definitely one of my best cpw buys as they get worn constantly in A/W.

LinusLovesBretons · 16/09/2015 07:06

Pommellato

They even called this set Victoria one!

LinusLovesBretons · 16/09/2015 07:22

shop did you manage to sleep a bit last night? How are you feeling?

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 16/09/2015 07:43

that's gorgeous linus

how are you feeling today Shop?

up and sort of at 'em to go enrol today. feeling very self conscious about the rash ive still got though, cant put any make up on it either

shopafrolic · 16/09/2015 07:52

Morning all. Getting there. Better night's sleep last night although BP very low so waiting to hear from the consultant if I can go home today. Sorry for radio silence on links and pics Blingy they made me smile but just couldn't get the energy up to message you. X

AmberNectarine · 16/09/2015 08:33

Boyfriend jeans just look awful on me - I don't think they suit curves really - have given up on them.

Am going for Parisian chic today - navy boucle Zara top, grey slim fit Uniqlo cropped trousers, grey Gucci scarf, Chanel pumps and Chanel bag. Whole effect ruined by my laptop bag. Sigh.

MarshaBrady · 16/09/2015 08:43

Mine are a bit big now they've stretched. I still like them but have to be careful with what I wear on top and shoes. Ie a t that's not too big

I'm in new c/e striped linen top, MiH vintage wash skinnies, cracking out Marant boots for first time - Linus I feel like you do with the Choos - and Marant navy blazer. I like the new stuff atm (but did need it)

Shop hope today is ok

Larastheme · 16/09/2015 10:47

Morning,
Glad you had some sleep shop, hope your BP improves, its the aesthetic effect,

linus, I love the biker choos too,and gutted not to be wearing them anymore, really Good CPW,

I love CE tees marsha, amazingly soft,

I was supposed to go somewhere ,off the beaten track to look at something ive been dying to get my hands on for ever, but my ride bailed on me, so I'm in a cafe drinking coffee instead, , and flicking through NY fashion week, GOD! This is always the boring one, so bland,or maybe not much coverage,? I always thought London FW,is the fun exciting one , with lots of great looks, fresh and always new great talents on show

Milan FW, is the established ,understated ,serious, and shrewed one, always straight to the point, and never disappoints,

And Paris, is the definitive one,

I'm dressed appropriately for my canceled excursion,:CE striped long sleeve Tee,mother jeans,CE infantry jacket, marant black trainers, and big loro piana grey scarf, and hermes Berline cross body to finish the look.

I have a question to you all, do you like having lots of bags? I feel overwhelmed at the moment and could do without one or maybe two, but then I think maybe I will miss them? For the last nine months I've been using some in rotation ,but the others not much,

QueenofCardigans · 16/09/2015 10:48

shop fingers crossed for you.
amber love the sound of Parisian chic

I'd love to dress up as a 20s flapper. I just adore that look. Other than that as someone else said, a Jane Austen heroine if only dh looked liked Darcy

Still in sports gear but about to shower. The boots are going on today. I was thinkng of giving the flares their first outing but the forecast is for heavy rain later so maybe not.

libertydoddle · 16/09/2015 11:29

Lara outfit sounds great. I am wearing leopard print loafers, black straight leg jeans, Gap merino camel crew neck jumper, tan Zara jacket and brown, rust and cream Missoni scarf. Using my Jaeger coral work tote.

On bags I don't like having too many. I have the coral work tote, a black modalu work tote which I will start using shortly and put the Jaeger one away for a while. For day to day I am using the MbMJ Natasha in Taupe. I have a tan Radley cross body I use and have put other bags away and will probably get rid of them. Only gap is an evening bag. Once I have a bag I like I tend to stick with it until it needs to be replaced.

OP posts:
QueenofCardigans · 16/09/2015 13:23

I'm going to return this sadly as I put it on today but it annoyed me as it didn't sit right when I started moving around. Luckily I hadn't yet removed the tag. So I'm wearing the new next grey blouse instead which dd promptly told me looks weird Hmm. Although not as bad as ds telling me earlier that I have a big bottom.

lara as you know I love bags but lately I've been preferring them in neutral colours especially grey. I like to have a choice between different sizes though. My current bag collection is...
Large grey tote. This doesn't get used as much now I don't need to cart so much kids stuff around.
Small grey cross body. Gets used virtually every day on school run.
Pewter cross body small. Mainly gets used in evenings
Medium sized silver bag
Medium sized stone which can be used as shoulder or cross body. Gets used when the small bag isn't big enough
Black hobo. Really old but I love it even though I rarely use it
Navy shoulder bag. Love it and should wear it more but because it's in its dust bag I dont lazy
3 clutches
Green and a fuschia bag for when I want a pop of colour
Navy and black cross body bags which I haven't used for ages but I keep anyway because I still like them.

That's quite a lot of bags Grin

maradesbois · 16/09/2015 13:54

Hello,

Linus we don't all suit the same things. You look fab in your jimmies as they are close fitting, as you are petite would say you need to keep to narrow fit on legs. Would love to have a nosey around your dm's wardrobe btw, must have been fab playing dress up when you were little (if she let you! Grin)

One good luck!

Dry good work shoes, very you.

Shop glad you got some rest, cliché but you need to take it one day at a time.

Laras I have loads of bags but only about 4 day ones that I rotate regularly. Am thinking of putting some older ones prada and miu miu on vestiaire collective as never use them anymore but not so dated they won't sell. I also use my huge goyard tote too much, filling it with stuff I don't really need. Have definite gap for a medium sized handbag.

QueenC you would make such a good '20s flapper. Have said it before but you definitely have something of Mia Farrow in the great gatsby.

BerniceBobsHerHairAgain · 16/09/2015 13:57

Shop glad you are feeling a bit better Flowers

Linus why are you thinking of branching out from the Jimmies?

How was work Amber?

Like your outfit Lara - how are you finding the marant trainers? have you been wearing them much?

I don't have too many bags and tend to use one for a while then rotate. I personally prefer cross body bags.

Mara I have reordered the dungarees after the positive feedback! Still not sure if they will work for my lifestyle - I think I might get a few of these Shock faces!

It is my style day this weekend - cue cringe worthy conversation with DH about what it involves. I am hoping it is an interesting day - there was a recent thread on here and the views were mixed. Anyone fancy a bet on what I might be? I will of course report back.

Interesting to hear your fancy dress outfit choices - for me I would either go for the Pride and Prejudice regency empire line look or 1940s war time style - I love tweeds etc.

QueenofCardigans · 16/09/2015 14:56

I wish mara but nice of you to say so Blush
How exciting bernice. I'm wondering if there's a bit of natural in there and maybe gamine or dramatic?

LinusLovesBretons · 16/09/2015 15:34

queenc I really liked that grey blouse you linked, don't listen to your DC!

I think you're right mara, I should stick to skinny boyfriend jeans. bernice I still love my Jimmies but fancied a change.

Maybe I'll have a look at Frame and Mother denim to see if they have anything that might suit my shape.

Re. bags, I have quite a few but tend to rotate the same ones. The others (like my Mulberry Bayswater and Delvaux handbags) I am keeping for DD when she's a lot older.

There's only one I should sell really as it is just all wrong for me, style-wise and colour wise. I should also sell my Loubs as I never wear them.

Drywhitethanks · 16/09/2015 16:39

Amber live the sound of your 'Parisian chic' outfit , might go a bit Gallic tomorrow. Agree that BF jeans don't do me any favours either, I go for straight cut or skinniest and turn up to do the same job.
One you should make a trip to Whitby, UK (if not world) centre for jet, loads of the stuff and v gothic. You'd love it.
lara I threw out loads of cheap bags a couple of years ago and decided to keep fewer good quality apart from clutches
My day bags:
Tan Mulberry Somerset Hobo
Chocolate brown Fossil cross body
Black Radley Grosvenor
Blue Smyrhsin Nancy
Black Gucci Disco
My new MJacobs clutch in black
That's all I need really . Red Longchamps leather coming for my birthday hopefully. Done.

This weather is annoying. Starts off really cold , then by lunchtime it's really warm. Just can't get it right.

And finally, despite getting over hot, I've got my work wardrobe mojo back and am feeling good again ridiculous idiot

Drywhitethanks · 16/09/2015 16:49

Oh, and ordered this to go with new Xara tweed trousers. Useful .

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 16/09/2015 17:43

all enrolled! Lessons begin on Monday

Sorry to hear you are feeling bad shop I hope you feel better and are able to get home as soon as you can

dry I will see if Dp will take me to Whitby one weekend when he's up, we keep meaning to go but never seem to get round to it

Bought a new skirt, black a-line cord skirt with buttons up the front. Think it will be a useful basic as I do struggle to get plain black skirts in the right length, they are usually either way way too short or really much too long, there never seems to be much inbetween lengths in the styles i like
