Ahhhhh, the season of mists and mellow fruitfulness...if for you that means the joy of cosy jumpers, retrieving your favourite coats and jackets from the back of the wardrobe and an excuse to buy new boots then this is the place for you Smile. Come chat about clothes, make up and accessories, budgets from Primark to Prada. Lurkers, newbies and old hands all welcome.

Shop Sad hope it improves today. Sending good vibes.

Wearing new c/e tartan top with Burberry navy pants, white trainers and Marant tweed jacket. I like it for feeling new / out of skinnies jumper zone.

What's everyone wearing?

BerniceBobsHerHairAgain · 15/09/2015 09:38

I'm wearing a cashmere jumper Shock - it feels really wintery here. Plus Asos thea jeans and red / burgundy pointy flats.

Hugs to Shop - hope you can rest up and feel better soon x

Amber hope your first day back goes well. Will you be resurrecting your blog (and your view from the loo outfit shots?)

Marsha I like your outnet purchases.

QueenofCardigans · 15/09/2015 10:39

I'm wearing a navy jumper with 3/4 length sleeves, jeans and socks. Doing some admin stuff on the computer and my hands and feet are turning blue!

LinusLovesBretons · 15/09/2015 11:07

I'm wearing my Jimmies, a heattech ls tee, my new cashmere Brunello Cucinelli jumper and my cashmere Hermès scarf. And ballet flats without socks!

shop I hope they gave you some better painkillers!

I've just seen a gorgeous emerald green long pleated skirt by Kenzo and immediately thought of you. Will try and find a link.

LinusLovesBretons · 15/09/2015 11:09

I also tried on this coat

It was gorgeous but £££ and I'm not sure those tiny studs will look good next year.

Oh and I also tried on a Saint Laurent coat that made me look like a child dressing up as a tiny Hussar.

LinusLovesBretons · 15/09/2015 11:11

saint laurent coat

Stokey · 15/09/2015 11:12

I'm in cashmere too, thin pink one from Uniqlo over white 3/4 length tee and Paige Hoxtons (now distressed by age). I'll probably wear black Stans for the school-run this avo, was in work-out mode this morning.

Thinking of you Shop, hope the painkillers provide some relief. When DD1 had her eye op earlier this year, the nurse said just keep taking painkillers as regularly as you can for the first 48 hours so you never get into pain.

Hope first day back goes well Amber. I love that teal pleather skirt. Zara seem to have some good stuff this season, I'm going to go there tomorrow pre-hair sut & want to try some of their wafty dresses and mini skirts.

Cool tartan top Marsha, like the sound of your outfit.

I tried the Next black dungarees Bernice but they are massive on me, I can fit my whole arm down the sides. I tried a 10 (which I am in the real world) but may try an 8.

I'm renting the leather catsuit, costume lady assures me it's be fine with a big belt to hide mum tum... I will definitely be wearing spanx, so not very sexy for DH. This is the look I'm going for. She has also sourced me some wicked pointy boots with a kitten heel - only a fiver from ebay.

shopafrolic · 15/09/2015 12:24

Stunning coat Linus

maradesbois · 15/09/2015 15:12

Hello,

Wow Stokey you're going to look amazing and very Emma Peel.

Shop hang in there, hope they've sorted the pain medication.

Bernice did you decide to keep the dungarees? They looked really good on you so hope so!

Linus I'd love a camel coat the same shape as that Stella, you didn't see one by any chance? Smile Saint Laurent is gorgeous.

Am wearing Ganni striped sweatshirt with big hermès scarf, ts jamies and stans.

LinusLovesBretons · 15/09/2015 16:37

mara the Bryce coat by Stella M looks the same to me (I love the navy one) and I am sure I've seen it in camel somewhere online.

shop how are you feeling now?

I forgot to say I also tried some Current/Elliott Fling jeans that lara recommended as I am looking for other boyfriend jeans but they were. just meh on me.

Not awful but not as flattering as my Jimmies. Anyone else have recommendations for slim boyfriend jeans?

All this talk of fancy dress parties makes me wonder what your ideal period of historic dress would be.

Mine maybe ancient Rome with all the drapey dresses held together with brooches.

LinusLovesBretons · 15/09/2015 16:59

Of Jane Austen style dresses, showing a bit of cleavage. Wink

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 15/09/2015 17:00

Linus I like my MiH Phoebe Slims, think Marsha got some too, or just tried them?

QueenC saw this and thought of you Grin

Shop how're you bearing up? Hope you're in less pain and have some good books to read.

Hope today went well Amber, outfit sounds cool, I wish I could wear pleather in my office.

As of this morning I have a sore throat, which means a cold is on its way - just as the rest of my week is about to get really busy! Always the way...

LinusLovesBretons · 15/09/2015 17:06

I have got those MiH Phoebe slims marsha has as well blair and whilst they are nice they're not as flattering as the Jimmies.

They are a very light wash so I won't be able to wear them as much in winter. Oh and DH hates them. Wink

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 15/09/2015 17:11

Linus Ohhh I didn't realise you did too. It's probably the closest I come to a MNV group purchase! Funnily enough my DH also hates them. No doubt it's because they are not skin tight like my skinnies!

For fancy dress I love the flapper style, but could never pull it off with my body shape.

maradesbois · 15/09/2015 17:29

Linus you're right, found it here. Have also been looking at this one but will need to try both on. I know that Maxmara is supposed to be the place to go for camel but want a slightly oversized look rather than completely classic plus can't help but feel that MM has been appropriated by mil.

Not sure for skinny bfs but for historical costume would go for 1930s elegance, long silk bias cut evening dress with mink cape, red lips cigarette holder and champagne coupe - the works! Went to a Madeleine Vionnet exhibition at the the musée des arts décoratifs in Paris a few years ago where the dresses blew me away.

MarshaBrady · 15/09/2015 17:32

Haha Linus that is funny. Dh always comments on mine too.

MarshaBrady · 15/09/2015 17:33

And Blair! We've found the vogue man repeller item Grin

MarshaBrady · 15/09/2015 17:36

Mara I really like the Marant one too and tried it on in Liberty. Oth Dh did see a pin with white trainers, something and a camel coat. He keeps saying I should wear it. Might have to leverage that on a shopping trip Wink

MarshaBrady · 15/09/2015 17:38

Stokey fab look.

Linus love the Saint Laurent coat.

Shop how are you doing? Thanks

LinusLovesBretons · 15/09/2015 17:56

Yes, they're definitely a man repeller!

Love flapper dresses but wouldn't suit my bodyshape either.

I could really see you in the Saint Laurent coat marsha as you are lovely and tall.

shopafrolic · 15/09/2015 17:57

Am walking a little without fainting so that's a huge improvement on this morning. Still feel lousy though. Need sleep tonight.

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 15/09/2015 18:12

hello all

hope your pain is under control now shop and that you are getting plenty of rest Thanks [hugs]

allergic reaction is a bit better but i have been advised that if I have any worsening of symptoms then im to go straight to A&E, especially if my tongue starts itching again

I bought two dresses today, just from primark but they are cute. fitted to the waist then slightly flarey with short fitted sleeves, one in black and white tartan and one in green and black tartan, both with little collars. both have zips either side of the waist. I worried over the black and green one as the zips are gold but i figured they'd be passable as they aren't near my face, zips on the other are silver.

libertydoddle · 15/09/2015 18:14

The lack of sleep in hospital is horrible shop. Good that you feel a wee bit better.

Drywhitethanks · 15/09/2015 19:47

Shouldn't skim read, I read Shop's last post as "I'm walking a little without farting"!!Shock........ Odd side effect Confused......shop hope you get a better night's sleep. Tomorrow you'll ferl a whole lot better.

Amber I love the sound of your outfit.

Bloody hell I BOILED today ......boots, opaques, wool mix skirt, heatech and merino......nearly snuggled up on a bean bag and had a snooze Grin ....had to whip my vest off in the loo Shock

Drywhitethanks · 15/09/2015 19:49

Lots of compliments about the burgundy merino though, such a lovely colour
