U for coursework??? Surely that should have been flagged up and improved on at the time? Or has the teacher made some sort of mistake?
5 AS's sounds mad impressive! And glad your DD has a planSmile

hattymattie · 24/08/2015 11:26

Agree with BTM Rudy - a U for coursework should not have been out of the blue.

We have tried buckwheat crêpes BTM but find that makes them a bit heavy. I'm afraid to say the crêpes are our Sunday night binge so very unhealthy and unmumsnetty. They involve unmentionables such as nutella, golden syrup and lemon, sugar, and jamBlush.

I am at the holiday stage where I fantasise about having the holiday I would likewithout any of this joyless lot.AngryAngry

Also fed up with my reflection. How am I supposed to give my girls a positive body-image when all I see is a squat hideous troll???

Blackduck · 24/08/2015 13:48

Odear MI - why are they being so joyless?

And you are not a hideous troll....

Wilbur hope the ankle is better soon.

Her lack of motivation continues. I'd like to take some more time off but can't....

motherinferior · 24/08/2015 13:55

Nobody wants to potter around and explore little towns. And I would like to look at markets/shops...

I truly am trollishly hideous at the moment.

bigTillyMint · 24/08/2015 13:59

Hatty, they sound parfait!

MI, it happens to us all. My friend and I were just saying that holidaying with friends is much more fun than holidaying with the familyBlush
Maybe we should plan a crepey break away?!

MollyLair · 24/08/2015 14:46

I'm in, I'm in, I'm in! Yes, yes to fantasising about how lovely this holiday would be if only the company were different.

hattymattie · 24/08/2015 15:41

MI - we love doing that. Even the DC's - although they never want to drive anywhere. I'm sure you are not trollish and you must look better than I did in the Spanish heat - shiny red tomato face and flat hair!

motherinferior · 25/08/2015 13:10

Phew, I missed you!

Blackduck · 25/08/2015 13:45

Can they please stop doing this - it's so annoying....

hattymattie · 25/08/2015 14:03

Have come to the conclusion I'm sadly overdependent on MN - get itchy fingers when it's down.Confused

magimedi · 25/08/2015 14:20

I got so much done yesterday afternoon & this morning. Blush

I do find MN addictive and yet, when I go on holiday I don't miss it. I don't take any internet devices with me when away.

CointreauVersial · 25/08/2015 14:39

Was it down?? I was expecting pages and pages of crepey news to catch up on, but no! Confused

I'm typing this from a near-horizontal position on a Novotel bed - we made it to Amsterdam safe and sound, and have just checked in. DH has assumed his usual post-check-in position, and is snoring face-down beside me. I will give him a few minutes then kick him gently.

The trip over went very well - only one wrinkle - just as we were fully loaded and about to depart we managed to jam the lock on the roof box. We sorted it out after twenty very fraught minutes and a lot of swearing, but all that time it was bucketing with rain, so we set off soaked to the skin. The overnight ferry was great fun, even though we were woken up by a cheery song and a Dutch voice far too early. This morning we went to Madurodam (miniature Dutch buildings) - I expected the teens to hate it, but it was an unexpected hit. You'll be pleased to know we have already consumed our first pancakes.

BeachysFlipFlops · 25/08/2015 15:49

What with you lot disappearing into the ether and dd2 clearly with no reception or still up Snowdon, I've being feeling a bit abandoned. Dh is 50 today GrinGrin I'm still full of cough and cold and have retired to bed....

motherinferior · 25/08/2015 16:02

We are about to return to somewhere I thought was rather charming and has nice writeups. DP grumbled about the drive which is understandable but has now changed his mind after his suggested alternative sounded resolutely charmless: DD2 insists it sounds "booor-RING"....

motherinferior · 25/08/2015 16:04

All I want to do is potter about, pick up a few charming trinkets - which the girls need to do more than I do, ffs, they're the ones with friends with birthdays - and sit in a bar. Possibly look at a museum or building. Is that really too much to ask????

So glad to see you all!

Have had a somewhat stressful time - went with DD to meet DGodD and then shopping in Oxford St. They got some clothes which was good. Then we got on a bus going the wrong way (my fault - only lived here 28yrs) and caught in traffic then changed bus to B3 taken on a diversion... hailed a cab, picked up 3rd friend and have just dropped them at the hotel for DDs belated surprise birthday treat of afternoon tea (at a tiny but quite boutique hotel) Hope it goes OK.

MI, that is exactly what I like doing on hol too. We definitely need a crepeys holiday!

Happy Hols CV Smile

bigTillyMint · 25/08/2015 16:42

Good luck to your DD Rudy. My DD has apparently done 3 of the essays but is horns - locked with DH on the 4th and she is supposed to take them all to enrolment at 9.30 tomorrow. Not sure how this is going to pan out as she is massively anxious about it allConfused

Blackduck · 25/08/2015 16:44

MI so not too much to ask :)

I am wfh and am hacking away at another job app - mat leave cover but at least it's in a different school.....

Happy Birthday Mr Beachy.....

I am struggling to Friday (with various lunches thrown in) and then off to Wales for the weekend.....
