I'm waiting on my 0.025 from Geoff's too.

MrsGuyGarvey · 19/05/2015 14:46

Totallyaddicted what hydrating toner did you get? I think I need one.

Teladi · 19/05/2015 15:33

EthelCardew I have dry, sensitive, dehydrated and reactive skin and am getting on OK with Avene Antirougeurs Jour moisturising cream which is SPF 20.

EthelCardew · 19/05/2015 16:08

Drank Yes, that makes sense. My skin does suffer if I put too much stuff on it so I've always avoided thus far.

Thanks for the suggestion Teladi, I'll check it out in Boots tomorrow.

Although I suspect my skin is already too far gone!

Shop · 19/05/2015 17:20

The uv rays which age the skin are present pretty consistently, nothing to do with heat and the UVB rays.
If you want to look after your skin you need to use sunscreen each day.
I'm in Yorkshire and use it year round.

queenbrunhilda · 19/05/2015 17:42

Quick question for fellow bargainistas: which of the Aldi serums are you using?

Can anyone offer some suggestions on what I can add to improve my skin? Current routine is

Clinique TTDO (PM only)
Emma Hardie balm cleanser
Clinique moisture surge spray
Hylamide eye and face (only just added, was using hydraluron previously)
No7 protect & perfect moisturiser
Decleor neroli oil AM (in an attempt to seal in moisture) or
Clarins blue lotus oil PM

I normally have oily dehydrated skin with cystic acne and have some fine lines appearing on my forehead. I'm currently taking roaccutane which seems to have sorted the acne (and means I can't use acids or retinoids) but despite a pretty good routine my skin is still so dehydrated and dry too as it's not producing its own oil at the moment. I think I need a richer moisturiser. I've tried quite a few (cetaphil included) but most seem to leave me looking greasy despite my skin still feeling parched. It's almost as if they're just sitting on the surface rather than being properly absorbed. I've got the same problem with foundation too. It used to slide off as I was so oily, now it sits on the surface looking cakey.

Any suggestions on rich, easily absorbed, gentle, non shiny moisturisers? Or anything else I should add to or take out of my routine?

dontcallmelen · 19/05/2015 18:23

Larma me to, definate fading of brown spots since, using nip n fab pads, one on my cheek has vanished.

Totallyaddictedtoshoes · 19/05/2015 18:26

Mrsguygarvey I got the boots glycerin and rose water one. I don't know if it's doing much yet to be honest, but I hope it might help with the redness I'm getting. I'm just about to order the 0.025 retinol cream from geoffs uk :-)

Shop · 19/05/2015 19:32

Lthewife if you like decleor oils then the angelique may be better as that's for very dry skin, neroli is an 'all skin types one'

You could also try a moisturising mask a couple of times a week or even a sleep mask?

PM maybe layer, serum, night cream then oil?

EthelCardew · 19/05/2015 19:36

back2Two I was just about to ask about City block but you answered my question! I need something that's not too heavy or my skin will freak out.

Itsalldramarama · 19/05/2015 19:37

Thanks about the SPF Definetly last then ! I know I should be using all the time and not just relying on moisturiser . Wish I'd used it since early 20s ! Wonder how much better my skin would be ..,,, wil purchase some ASAP :)

DrankSangriaInThePark · 19/05/2015 20:21

Decleor Iris was better for my dry skin than the Neroli, although the neroli smells lush of course....but none compare to NY Frankincense...Grin

Sallystyle · 19/05/2015 21:05

I ordered retin 0.5%

I don't think my GP will let me go higher than 0.25 so I ordered it while waiting for my GP to get back to me.

My acne is awful on my back and shoulders but I have still only had one bad spot for a whole month on my face and one other tiny one. I have never had this clear skin before. The problem is still my acne scars which makes me skin look horrible. I hope in time the retin will help with that.

LtheWife · 19/05/2015 21:48

Can you recommend any particular masks Shop? I've been using origins drink up intensive overnight but it doesn't seem to be doing anything!

Tanaqui · 19/05/2015 21:50

How long do you guys leave between acid tone and serum or moisturiser? Feel maybe I should leave a space? Thanks!

plumstone · 19/05/2015 22:03

Tanaqui, I avid tone, leave the time it takes to get dressed and then hydrate tone, attempt to do hair, then serum and eye cream, finish hair and then moisturise, brush teeth then make up- that am

Pm, I faff a lot so wait till the tingle stops then either sleep mask, or if it's a Liquid gold night just go to bed!
Hope that helps!

almondcakes · 19/05/2015 22:07

I was wondering if I should be leaving a gap between the cleanser.

I now have five cleansers - Clinique take the day off balm, Clinique extra mild cleanser, Bravura volcanic, Estée Lauder verite, La Roche Posey physiological.

Unfortunately I accidently left all my skin care stuff at my mum's, and can't get it back for a week, so will have to try and assemble a routine with samples, or buy more stuff...

Shop · 19/05/2015 22:09

Sorry Lthewife I have normal/combination skin so they may not be enough for you but I've used liz Earle intensive nourishing mask and a decleor moisture one I can't remember the name of!

I know the body shop bouncy sleep mask gets good reviews but not yet tried it myself.

I did have another thought while doing me own routine just now. You could do your pm routine early evening and then add more before bed while you are on the medication? Not sure if this is practical for you.

If you like oils the Ad synergy night oil is lush :)

cH has a blog convo with the Paula's choice lady. I am always Slightly suspicious of people who make sweeping statements about things. What I have realised in life is that what is considered good/bad in one generation is thrown out the window in the next. I take it all with a pinch of salt and keep an open mind.

On another note I feel a bit fed up. My skin does look good, I can see that. However, I am as tired as a tired dog and sadly I look as tired as a tired dog. So no comments about my smooth glowy skin. Just you look very tired.
My skin is also definitely paler than it used to be. This has exaggerated the dark circles. As I said a few posts ago. I look like the undead.
I am hoping the half term break will help.

DrankSangriaInThePark · 20/05/2015 09:27

I read that this morning BB. I like her a bit more (PB) having read it I must say. I have avoided her like the plague because I've always felt the PC pushing was a bit underhand on a website that doesn't immediately let you know it's hers. She makes some good points though. I was happy avoiding her now I'm going to have to go and have a looky......

plumstone · 20/05/2015 09:59

BUttons - I have upped my water (3 litres a day due to LC bootcamp - a whole other thread) and i have noticed my dark circles have definitely reduced - I am now just saggy!!! its my next issue to address.

Really happy with routine and results but the saggy eyes are annoying - does anyone know of or can recommend an effective eye cream for saggy bags or do I need to add to list of things I want corrected when I will the lotter Grin

yazzy85 · 20/05/2015 10:31

The Oz Vitamin C serum mentioned above looks very tempting!! Need to finish my Ren Radiance serum first though, not seeing any difference from the Ren one.
